Ogbar sees his foe fall and laughs off the attack that strikes him, "Die, foul creature!" he shouts swinging his axe at Eve.

OOC:
As a reaction, I'd like to cast shield! That brings Kragga's AC to 19 until the end of his next turn. That should negate the attack.
<SNIP>
OOC:
If I take any attacks of opportunity, Kragga's AC will be 19 until the end of the round
Casting Shield as a reaction in round three is brilliant! It does mean that Fern's round three attack does not hit - I've corrected the round three text - and Kragga has AC 19 until the start of his turn in round four. That means, though, that his AC would be 14 again when he attacks Fern in round four, and when/if there are any opportunity attacks as he runs to join Xana and Theran at the table with K.

Kragga's currently adjacent to both Eve and Fern, and one or both may be standing still even after Albertus and Kragga hit them. Given that, do you still want Kragga to make a run for it in round four?

Sorry for the confusion! Yep, keep going! I'll take the opportunity attack risk. If an attack hits me, I'll use shield again (1 more spell slot)

Xana attempts to jump up on the table and kick or throw whatever she can get her hands on off of it.

ROUND FOUR

Aanbo swings and punches at Cam, but the murdered priest's flailing arms get in the way. However, the foe is undefended against the dwarf's foot, which comes up and connects solidly with Cam's chin. Cam's head snaps back, the eye lights go out, and Cam falls to the floor, dead and immobile.

Theran is face-to-face with the dull eye-sockets and shriveled skin of K, whose mace swishes past his face as the gold-robed dead man tries to keep him and Xana at bay. As he avoids the deadly mace, Theran calls upon the spirits of nature and growth and heals himself completely.

Albertus slashes, stabs, and cuts with his sword, slicing huge rents in Eve's blood-stained white robes and her flesh alike, dealing her 10 points of damage! Close to the paladin, the wizard Kragga smashes his quarterstaff into the face of Fern, dealing 7 bludgeoning damage! As the animated murder victim rears back, Kragga makes a run for the doorway. Eve and Fern attack him as he leaves. dazed by the first blow from Eve, Kragga uses his last spell slot and casts Shield again, blocking Fern's attack! The wizard staggers into the room and confronts K alongside Xana and Theran! Kragga takes 5 bludgeoning damage and is barely standing!

Xana tries to find an opening to get around K to attack the table, but K senses what she's trying to do and focuses all his attention on her. She is unable to get around him as he tries to block her and attack!

With no foes active in front of him and hearing the fighting close by, Joseph runs over to support Ogbar and Albertus! He attacks Eve and Fern (short sword and dagger, respectively)! Eve is hit for 10 piercing damage: her eyes dim and she collapses to the floor. Fern is stabbed for 8 piercing damage (applying the sneak attack damage here).

Trying to distract with his mace, K instead tries to touch Xana with his withered hand! The dark pact within her pulses, and Xana instinctively recoils, narrowly avoiding the touch that would surely have killed her!

Ogbar laughs maniacally and hacks into Fern for 8 slashing damage! The lights in her eyes extinguished, and another murder victim falls immobile! All the murdered priests have been defeated!

But then a beam of beautiful golden light shines forth from the table that K is defending, flowing into Hip's body. Hip stands and attacks Joseph! The attack catches the rogue by surprise, and Joseph is hit for 12 damage! Joseph collapses, unconscious and dying.

Joseph is down and dying. One murdered priest with glowing eyes in a blood-stained white robe and the horribly-wasted eyeless corpse in the gold robe remain. What do you do for round five?

Moofsalot says:

Knocking the ritual components off of the table will take a full action, but K is actively trying to block anyone from reaching the table. Now that three of you are there, one person will be able to get around him, as he can only block two of you at most.

Trusting Ogbar and Albertus to handle Hip, and allowing Xana and her crew to take care of K, Aanbo slides over to the fallen Joseph. He works to try and stabilize the rogue.

Kragga stumbles through the door, taking multiple hits. He's only standing because he was able to bring up a spell shield at the last moment. Though his magic is spent and his flesh torn, the gambit has paid off. Shaking off the pain, he works with Theran to occupy the undead leader to clear a path for Xana to wreak havoc on the table of evil fetishes. He returns his arcane focus to his neck and swings overhead with both hands, bringing the stout staff down onto the abomination's rotting bones.

Will somebody save the plucky halfling hero?

Naatkinson says:
"Dead things should stay dead!" Ogbar yells in rage as he hacks at Hip with his axe.
OOC:
Albertus is earlier in the initiative, so (playing in order) you would know that Al's attack drops Hip. Unless you object, I'll narrate that you run in and attack the gold-robed scary caster K with that attack instead. The beauty of it is that K is even more clearly dead than the rest of these perfectly-preserved murdered priests, so Ogbar's roar works just as well. OK?

Xana sees her opening, and attempts to jump back onto the table and do some damage to whatever is on it!

With no murdered priests in his way, Aanbo runs around the corner past the stairs to see what is happening there, sees Joseph down at Hip's feet and in dire straits, and stabilizes the rogue, so he doesn't have to make death saves.
Theran dodges and weaves, trying to avoid getting touched by the deadly K!
Albertus slashes Hip, dealing the murdered priest 8 damage. The dead priest's eyes stop glowing and the body falls to the floor, still once more!
Kragga attacks K, hitting the eyeless undead horror for 5 bludgeoning damage!
Xana uses that distraction to duck past K and leap up onto the table. She then proceeds to kick over the skulls, ritual implements, and the large silver bowl with a clatter! The table ceases to glow immediately, K emits a hideous shriek of rage and despair, and all the perfectly-preserved bodies of the murdered priests collapse and decay into powder, as if the decomposition of a thousand years occurred in 2 seconds! The hideous, desiccated corpse of K clad in gold robes does not change, though the decayed remains of a face is contorted with extreme emotion.
Thanks to Aanbo's swift ministrations, Joseph is stable and not in danger of death.
K attacks Theran with his mace, but the druid continues to dodge and is unharmed!
As that attack is made, Ogbar sprints into the room, screams "Dead things should stay dead!" and slashes K for 11 slashing damage!
All the undead are just dead, decayed to dust now that the ritual has been disrupted! The only obvious enemy remaining is K!

What do you do for round six?

[ooc]Is Joseph awake and alert?/ooc]
Feb 16, 2024 3:48 pm
OOC:
Joseph is still unconscious by rule, with 0 hit points. Aanbo just stabilized him so that no death saves have to be made, but Aanbo doesn't yet have any ability to restore hit points. Joseph would wake up once he regains at least 1 hit point, whether through magic, potion, or waiting 1d4 hours.
Knowing that Joseph could still be in danger if any threat decides to take advantage of the unconscious rogue's state, Aanbo stands guard ready to block such threats.
OOC:
Using the Ready action to strike at anyone that comes close to Joseph with intent to harm.

With the other deads (or undeads?) seemingly down, this last individual -- K -- has the focus of the remaining Dungeon Busters. Theran, who had tried to distract him by making himself a difficult target, will duck in and jab at the last enemy with his staff. His hope being that he can open up the corpse for a clean hit from one of Theran's more mighty compatriots.
OOC:
Forgot to add the "to hit" modifier (+5), but I'm not sure a total of 11 would hit.
