Makasi puts her back into it and tries to move the statue.

Have makasi give me a DC 15 strength check with a background you think is relevant. On a success, Hrafe succeeds

With Makasi's help, Hrafe is able to push the statue just enough that each of you can squeeze past it. You follow a hallway that immediately turns and goes forward for a long ways before turning again. After that turn, a small alcove is revealed. The only thing of note is a crystal ball sitting on a pedestal in the middle. Knowledge of the arcane could probably help with understanding what it is used for or even how to use it.

Edgar is cautious with the crystal ball and won't go near it. He instead keeps guard so one of his more arcane abled companions can study it.
OOC:
Don't have the right skills. Sorry I have been quiet last few days. Travel fatigue that turned to actual fatigue as I apparently caught Covid on the flight home.
Jun 28, 2024 2:53 pm
"Either of you make something of that?" Makasi asks, looking to Yliane and Hrafe.
OOC:
I don't have any appropriate background, either. Hrafe might with the warrior-poet thing?

Hope you feel better! I only just got over my travel crud yesterday.

OOC:
Not sure warrior poet would mean knows magic, so i'm going to move things forward.
It seems there isn't really anything you can do with the crystal ball. The ball isn't fixed on the pedestal, so you can take it if you want, unless you fear doing so.

You make your way back, nothing else back here to interact with, and go back to the intersection. Going down the last hallway before returning to the main room, you find yourself in a room where it looks like undead are embalmed in order to make them rot slower. The next room over appears to be an old tomb that looks mostly empty. It's probably where the wight got most of the undead it used to them kill and make more undead.

Eventually, you all enter the tomb in the back and you all notice a wall that seems rotated slightly. A secret door! You find scrolls upon scrolls. Perhaps one of you might find something if you search in the room for a while? (DC 15 Intelligence or Wisdom check with a background that's good for reading a lot of text and noticing something significant)
OOC:
Feel free to roleplay anything you might have done back in the earlier rooms.

Hrafe stuffs the crystal ball in a bag. Taking care to not touch it directly. "We can always smash it if its evil."

Makasi considers the strange pile of scrolls. "Ugh. I certainly don't miss bookkeeping for the rich and haughty." She starts to puzzle over the documents.

"I'd just as soon burn it all. Who knows if it's even safe to look at, let alone read."

Amongst the papers is a layout of the dungeon itself. It gives no clues as to what might be found in each room, but with it you know what a room's shape would be before going in and where the likely path to follow is.
OOC:
Go here to see the map, so it isn't lost in the flow of text.

"Well, that's handy," Edgar says looking over the map. "So straight to the end next or do you want to explore on the way?"
Jul 3, 2024 4:26 pm
"We should finish our objectives first. We can always retrace our steps."

OOC:
You guys tell me which room you want to inspect and I'll tell you what happens when you listen in on the door.

2 things to note:
- 1. If you see an X in a box, that is a 10x10 trap that is set. the map doesn't say how to bypass it, just that it is there. It is set up so simply walking around the edges won't be enough to bypass it. You'll need to either disable it or hope you can roll well on strength to jump over 10 feet.
- 2. If you go down the hole in room 18, you won't be able to come back up with your current knowledge, so think of that as a 1-way passage way like the first hole was at this time.

If you guys would prefer I automate the exploration a bit more, just give me a heads up. Otherwise, I'm waiting for how you will get past the X to the next area and then what rooms you want to go in next.

OOC:
Where are we in the dungeon on that map? What room number?
Jul 5, 2024 5:48 pm
OOC:
oops, sorry, that is important to know. 10. The gnome and priestess are in 7b
Jul 5, 2024 8:49 pm
OOC:
I am assuming that we DON'T know in-character that there's a bit of the map that's covered up in the corner. So I am actually a bit loath to go down another level since we already don't know how to get back up from here. So my vote is to keep going through rooms until we figure out how the lifts works. Then we go down.

OOC:
there is a part of the dungeon that is not part of the original layout, which Is why I left it out as the sheet would not know about it
Jul 11, 2024 8:34 am
"As an assassin I often had to deal with targets hidden behind all manner of traps, I can deal with them," Edgar says.
Jul 11, 2024 12:05 pm
Edgar, roll me a dexterity or intelligence check using your background against DC 20. On a success, you find a way to jam the trap door so it will support your weight. On a failure, you can either simply fail and be convinced you can't deal with this specific trap, or you can "fail forward" and say it worked but at w cost you come up with that isn't too major but has a consequence.
