"Oi owe ye a debt o' gratitude. Ye little 'uns didn't hafta free ol' Grumblejack, but ye did," the ogre says to Harrison. "I'd like ta meet da fella dat made it possible, too. I'll get ye where ye need ta be, don't ye worry."

"What say we pretend like we're still locked up, and when the guards come, ambush them?"
Sep 13, 2016 4:42 pm
"Got any more of those noise illusions? We could make a sound of an explosion or a door breaking down and when they run in to check..." she smiles viciously as she lets her sentence trail off.

I crack my knuckles. "Easy enough. Do you plan on hiding in an empty cell, or lie in wait in the main cell?"

Everyone agrees with Alyndra's plan to make a big noise and then ambush the guards...except for Harrison. Something nags at him as he ponders this idea, and then it hits him that, with every patrol or investigation, the guards don't enter the cell block together. One of them always stands at the door, with their signal horn in hand, ready to summon reinforcements if something were to happen.

Thinking about it further, he realizes that the guards are actually terrified of the PCs, based on the fact that every time they dealt with you as individuals, there were at LEAST three guards present...sometimes more.

"Let us take our positions then if we're going to prep ourselves to take on these guards. There's really no reason to dawdle further," says Harrison slipping back by the cell door.

"If we can bring the guards close, I can cast a spell that should disable them long enough to prevent them from blowing their horn and bringing aid," Alyndra says, contemplating their options.
Sep 14, 2016 7:27 pm
I nod. "I was thinking of doing the same. Perhaps I can daze one of the guards and you the other long enough for the rest of you to dispatch them?"
Sep 14, 2016 7:36 pm
"Mine should affect all of them, assuming they are close enough together, but you can also cast your spell just in case they manage to resist its effects," Alyndra says. Realizing that Xharin is a competent magic-user in his own right, she gives details on the spell she is intending to use.

Seeing as Jabes is tied up with work until next weekend, to keep things moving and get you guys out of jail, I'll GM-PC his character until he tells me not to.
Magoldor, still muttering blasphemies under his breath, returns to the cell and actually puts his hands up like they are still manacled to the wall.

Grumblejack goes back to his cell and waits for you to make your move.
OOC:
Whenever you are ready, each of you will have a surprise round to act before the guards get an action.

I chuckle. "Yes, I'm quite familiar with that particular spell. By all means, do what you will."
Sep 14, 2016 8:34 pm
Alyndra takes a quick look around the room to see if there's a good place for her to wait and be close enough to get her spell off when the guards come in.
OOC:
Is the room dark enough for me to possibly hide in 18c and not be immediately seen when the guards come in? I have a short range to work with and need to make my positioning count
