"Oh sure," the man points back the way Creds came. "Just a couple blocks up that way are where a lot of the shipping and freight companies have their offices. Once your up that way, take a left onto 'Valles Blvd'. Pretty quickly you'll come up on some bars. The managers of the companies are pretty tight lipped, but the staff are usually talkers."

'Cover me,' says Ken and darts into the alley, trying to stay out of sight of the cameras. He wants to see if he can get the scanner close enough for a reading on any of the crates.

AD-hoc is about to reply to Zailor but then Ken disappears. " . . . and now Ken is also gone. That leaves the two of us on lookout duty I suppose?

"More or less, depends on the size of the company. Some of the smaller outfits, the manager is the bidder. So they might be tight lipped. Doesn't mean they won't be in the bar, you just might not be able to chat them up. Some of the larger places with have staff doing the bidding, their usually friendlier, since it's not their bonus on the line if the bidding goes poorly."

Trying to keep the crates between himself and both the cameras and the yard worker, Ken starts scanning them systematically, starting with the one at the top left of the yard. After a moment's thought he desperately searches for the volume button on the scanner, shhh!

It's been a while since Ken had to evade security, in recent months he's tended to go in blaster first, but he feels those old moves beginning to reassert themselves, ducking and twisting around the crates, swinging the scanner in close to take a reading on each one.
On the last one he even risks a little forward roll, popping up next to the crate with the scanner in his hand - a final flourish.

As Creds chats up the yard worker, Ken moves deftly between the containers. Momentarily pressing the hand scanner against each of the boxes. He slinks, slides and even rolls his way around the crates. AD-hoc and Zailor watch with a mixture of awe and mild amusement as Ken works the yard. He finishes examining the last crate and is between the last two crates near the main street.
The yard worker's wrist Chrono beeps and as he looks at his wrist suddenly realizes how long he's been gabbing. "Sorry pal, I gotta get back to getting everything squared for tomorrow." He turns abruptly and heads back toward the warehouse.

@KCC - You guys are right across the street, so interestingly, you've been able to watch everyone, including Ken this whole time. But anything you do that's loud will likely able to be noticed. load next
