Following on the heels of The Games We Play, our second anthology (as yet untitled) will focus on fantasy stories.

Fantasy Literature defined: Fantasy literature is literature set in an imaginary universe, often but not always without any locations, events, or people from the real world. Magic, the supernatural and magical creatures are common in many of these imaginary worlds. Fantasy literature may be directed at both children and adults.

Fantasy is considered a genre of speculative fiction and is distinguished from the genres of science fiction and horror by the absence of scientific or macabre themes, respectively, though these may overlap.

What we propose is to curate and publish a collection of short stories written by Gamers Plane's own community. This is a call for those fantasy stories. Bring us your wildest adventures, fantastic characters, and epic tales. Think anything from classic Arthurian tales, to the supernatural worlds of Neil Gaiman or J.K. Rowling, from Lord of the Rings to Star Wars.

Magic exists in the world, but it is brought to life by writers.

The Games We Play 2 is a publishing project dreamed up by Qralloq and Thielindra, husband and wife writers. Over the past many years, we've attended numerous conferences on writing, participated in professional writing groups, written many stories, and sold several for publishing. We also edit and critique manuscripts written by other published authors in our personal writing groups. Qralloq self-published his own novel in 2018. The first anthology, the Games We Play was published early in 2023.

Last call for stories. We've received a number of submissions, totalling just over 30,000 words as submitted. Plenty of room for more!
