Tinkara, hearing no objections, casts reduce (30 ft. range) on the inner door, which has the skull handle on it. She stays outside the tunnel, and out of the path of the outer door.

Just to double check "outside the tunnel"

Please confirm this

OOC:
Yes, that's my intent. Apologies, I had been holding an incorrect arrangement in my head.

The slab reduces and not fitting into it's place any more it falls with extra loud noise - falling into the open pit.

Followed by minor rubble, dust and sand fall you can soon seen through into the tunnel: A moss-covered corridor extends beyond the fallen door. Tree roots hang from the sagging ceiling, and the air reeks of rot and damp. Ahead, a bas-relief carving of a bearded devil's face adorns the wall at a T-shaped intersection. The devil's open mouth is a well of utter darkness.

A hunched figure appear a moment later from the west of a T-shaped intersaction. Dwarf sized creature, wearing a mask that is a replica of the devil face at the tomb entrance. It glares at you just a moment. Without saying a word, the figure steps east and out of sight.

Well, that may not have been the intended solution, but I think we are "in". And, I think we've found the mask. I'm going to scout ahead.

Tinkara, staying as close to the ceiling as possible, flies towards the T intersection. As she approaches, she will maneuver left and right to see as far as possible down the left and right corridors without entering the intersection. Staying as much as possible out if sight. What do I see?

OOC:
the pit is still down correct?
Tink dont get too far ahead, we will catch up
Apr 2, 2024 2:25 pm
OOC:
Yes, the pit is still open.
Don't worry, I'm not doing anything but looking! Laughter like bells. If we need to put a rope across I can help, does anyone have pitons and a hammer?

Vatoris follows Tink into the new hallway. He looks around for anything magical or any traps...

"I will be right by you Tink. Don't fly to far..."

OOC:
Yes pit did not close when breaking the doors :). You still need to figure out how you get down and and up the pit. I'd like to hear you plan for getting everyone down and then up - I may ask some DC 5 or 10 athletics checks if you are doing that with a help of a rope. Without rope - DC 20 to get up.
The doors reduced to be about 7 feet high and 7 feet wide still stand almost vertically (upside down) in the pit and is going to revert to original size in a minute (or sooner if Tinkara stop concentrating).

Tree roots hanging from the ceiling makes it difficult for Tinkara see and even fly through, especially if she try to keep to the ceiling where the roots originate.
OOC:
No restrictions, just a difficult terrain

OOC:
Feel free to look at next chapter and decide yourself how much of that Tinkara could see already

"I guess... now that stone door will get back to it's original size any moment now... the floor will be blocked and will not rise again..." - Zean more claimed then asked - with a slight sigh.

"Patience is not bad thing."
OOC:
Am I right?

How deep is the pit?
"So it's time to stretch some muscles now. Not so bad... considering that my mind is much more tired from trying to figure it all out. I have a rope too, let's connect two of them and attach it the tree outside. When we will be down there, Tinks will be able to detach it from tree - I think. That will allow us go down..." - then he turned to Tinkara directly - "Tinks, do you see any good spot to tie the rope in this new tunnel? Some strong roots maybe? So we could climb on the other side?"

Zean does exactly this: attaches the two connected ropes - as you proposed GM in earlier post - to the tree and descend as first into the pit, then waits at the bootom and helps other descend safely as possible.

Does anyone have pitons and a hammer? A spike and a hammer? A grappling hook? Sorry to say, I'm a flyer, so I didn't pack any of those things.

I look for a convenient place to attach a rope.

OOC:
How big is that door now that it is reduced? Could we use it to cover the spike pit?
Apr 2, 2024 10:46 pm
OOC:
It's only reduced for 60 seconds...

GreyWord says:

The doors reduced to be about 7 feet high and 7 feet wide still stand almost vertically (upside down)
OOC:
By almost vertically I mean ... well let me picture cross-section, let me know if you still have questions about environment

And yes it is possible to tie a rope to the roots

OOC:
All clear for me. I envisioned it this way. So I hold to my previous post: Zean does what is described if not stopped but any other PC somehow.

OOC:

I will wait for input on
a) if anyone want to do something quickly before door enlarges back
b) If Thaddeus and Vatoris are also getting down into the pit (note: it will be a DC 5 athletics, Thaddeus will automatically pass, but do you want Vatoris to do the same exercise? )

Apr 3, 2024 8:28 pm
Throgin will offer to help with anyone climbing up or down as well. If he climbs first, he can either stand in the bottom to offer some help if someone falls and if he climbs first he will attempt to help pull on the rope as an individual climbs.
OOC:
If the door enlarges, how much space will it fill? I am assuming it would fall over in some capacity or potentially a ramp? but it shouldn't "close the door" again because it fell off the hinges correct?

OOC:
I was wondering about the reenlargeing also.
