I just submitted Farem Dor, please let me know if it is OK or if it needs adjustments.

Request permission to reroll my second character, Bofum Dor brother of Farem Dor.

Thanks for letting me know; will get to reviewing Farem Dor soon.

I'm the interest of consistency, I wouldn't reroll Bofum Dor.

Is there a reference for the attack value matrix? And equipment I pick from the list in the rule book and subtract their gold value from the gold I rolled, right?
The attack value matrix is shown on the pp. 16 and 19 of the Advanced rules, but you can also calculate the values by subtracting the armor class in the table from your thac0 (which is 19 for 1st-level characters).

Yes, your starting gold is the amount you have with which to buy equipment.
Okay, I think I might need some help with that, sorry :/
I don't quite understand how to do it

Also, can someone confirm that this is the right book:

That book is actually an older version of the full one that I'm using. If you still have access to the Basic rules, you should be able to find the attack value matrix on p. 10, which looks like this:

There's a spot on the character sheet where you can basically copy this down. What this table tells you is the number you have to roll to hit the listed AC with an attack. For example, all classes at 1st level can hit an AC of 0 by rolling a 19.

To be quiet honest, conversations like this are why I vastly prefer Ascending AC. I ran a live 2e game about a year ago, and found THAC0 to be nostalgicly fun for just a single session.

Very well then. In that case, I might have to roll a new character pretty soon! :D

I've been thinking: before we get out of character creation and into the main game, I want to make the switch from Item-Based Encumbrance to Detailed Encumbrance (p. 215 of the Advanced rulebook and p. 41 of the Basic). I think a simpler method of tracking encumbrance will keep lengthy discussions about inventory from bogging down more important parts of the game, and since no one has a strong preference for Item-Based I want to switch now before we get too far into the campaign.

Unfortunately, this means is that the players who have finished their sheets will have to rework the inventory section. I would just rip out the table in the current character sheet (which you can do by going into edit view) and replace it with a list like the one below. I will still require you to have a backpack to hold your adventuring gear, but that's less of an issue now since adventuring gear is 80 cn and a backpack can hold up to 400 cn. Allow me to use the example with Morgan again to illustrate how this new inventory should look:

LOL! I literally just finished doing encumbrance for my two and I think I finally had it right! Ah well, okay, let me make the adjustments.
Mar 26, 2024 6:21 pm
Oh man, my bad for the inconvenience. I just think it would have things running a lot smoother in the long run.
Mar 26, 2024 6:40 pm
Okay, all set then (I think).

Both approved, but remember that Natassia's gold coins weigh extra on top of the 80 cn of adventuring gear.

I will have time to figure ut out properly over the Easter days. Sorry that it's taking me so long, work has been a bit on the crazy side.
Mar 26, 2024 8:32 pm
No problem; I hope I'm not going too fast.
Mar 27, 2024 12:06 am
Okay, that oughta be everything swapped over and adjusted!
Mar 27, 2024 12:25 am
Both Robin and Talyndra have been approved!

Rolling some stuff...

Edit: I know you allow a mix of Classic and Advanced, but if using the advanced rules, are demi-humans limited in levels progressions, or do humans get the optional racial abilities?

Edit edit: Oh wait, given the background I had came up for Father Petronus, it would make more sense that I pick Vinter as my Secondary Skill rather than roll it. Don't know why I even rolled honestly...

Rolls

Bonus language - (1d20)

(11) = 11

Starting gold - (3d6)

(334) = 10

Secondary Skill - (1d100)

(21) = 21

Yeah, I want to hard cap demihuman levels exactly as in the book. I think limitations breed creativity in that regard, plus it keeps humans feeling more special than if they were just another race with racial abilities.
