Hearing the girl, Haguk walks purposefully towards the door without saying anything. He gives a angry glare at anyone trying to close shutters or bar the door. Once outside, he draws his greatsword in case of danger.

Domitius followed the woman's gaze out the window, "That woman's screams seem to matter little. Are the people's ears sewn shut just like their eyes? Is this more of Shadeside's doing?" He then looked back at Myrenth and wondered aloud, "Haven seems to be home to a number of.....unbalanced....citizens. Are the mists the cause of this as well?"

Demetra, watches you all react to the wails of the woman outside and says, with a certain weary resignation:
Quote:
Night is falling. Soon she will be lost to the mists.
The woman screaming in the street turns to you with panic written on her face:
Quote:
Please help me find her. She's only nine years old. She was meant to be home an hour ago.
Sep 17, 2016 7:18 am
Haguk lowers his sword on seeing the woman. "Home from where?"
Sep 17, 2016 10:35 pm
Elke's grimace falls but not much. She's torn between spending time looking for this child, this stranger, and doing her best to save her own hide.
OOC:
Would my bounty hunter background prove helpful in questioning the mother - getting more info about potential whereabouts etc

"Well if we fail at this at least we'll see what this mist does to the flesh and bones of the young." Xanxus macabrely mutters to himself moving out and looking around and to the others.

"Someone good at climbing get up top to give us some eyes on the area, You childless mother quickly where did you lose your littler version of yourself and what do they look like. You'll have plenty of time to be upset once we've found her or we're too late. In the mean time suck it up and get with it woman." he barks out scanning the area.
OOC:
Did you want a roll to organize a dynamic rapid moving search party to sweep the area?
Sep 19, 2016 8:37 pm
Waving his hand lazily, Domitius intoned, "Death is merely an inconvenience. But tell me about these mists, do they take people often? Are any remains found?"

OOC:
Sorry, been away camping for the weekend, hence no updates.
Lady Surly - Yes, that background would be relevant.

Xanxus - Yes, can you roll using your Mercenary Captain skill, although you'll need to do it from inside the Inn, because:

Before you can react fully, the Bartender hauls all of you and the distressed mother back inside the Inn.
Quote:
There's nothing to be gained by being out here. If the mists have taken her then she's lost. No point in us being taken too, lest there be nobody to look for her if she has managed not to succumb.
As he pulls you in you notice the mist at the end of the street thicken. It then proceeds to move closer in what you could only describe as 'leaps'. Rather than the usual wispy infiltration of a common fog, this mist seems to move forward in disconcerting chunks and seems almost impenetrable.
Sep 20, 2016 9:55 am
Haguk muscles tenses and his hold on his sword tenses. "Get her inside," he motions the bartender inside while holding up the rear. "I am not frightened by some mist."
Sep 20, 2016 1:32 pm
Elke angrily shakes free his arm around hers. She turns to the shaken mother who's been pulled inside.

"What can you tell us about where she was and where she's likely to be now? Don't leave anything out. Any tiny detail might be the difference between us finding her and her being lost." She narrows her eyes at the bartender. "Because it looks as though we're going to have to go hunting for her quickly if we're going to avoid this mist."
OOC:
Hmm sorry the roll below should be +3 for BH background. I did type it but not sure why it didn't add it.

Domitius stood from the table and moved to the door. He upended his bag of bones in the entryway, where they coalesced into an upright skeleton. "Go, find the missing girl, and bring her back here," he commanded, and the skeleton shambled into the mist.

Good evening all, I am regrettably going to have to put this game on a brief hiatus. My 8 year old son was today diagnosed with a very serious illness which requires immediate treatment in hospital. As such, I'm unsure of exactly what my days and free time are going to look like at least over the next 2-3 weeks while they try and get the battle started in terms of getting him well. Please bear with me. I'll post again when I know more but right now I need to use all the strength I have to get through this.

Take all the time you need! I'll be praying for you and your family.

My thoughts to you and your family as well. Hope it all turns out well.

No worries man, take care of the fam. Hope things go well.

Guys, I've realised that as part of this new journey that myself and my family are in, I will be spending a lot of time sitting around in hospitals with access to wi-fi. With that in mind if like to try and resurrect this game from Monday onwards but on the original 3 posts a week basis. I think it would be a great way to take my mind off a fairly grim situation. I'll start posting again Monday or Tuesday.

OOC:
Again no worries, if you need time off let us know, if you need a distraction let us know.
Sep 23, 2016 12:53 pm
OOC:
Agreed - I'm totally flexible so if you need a while off and want to come back to it that's obviously OK but, as you've suggested, can easily see how things go.

OOC:
As long as the hospital has decent wifi we'll be OK. It has wi-fi but I've not put it under any real test thus far as have been dealing with some pretty grim stuff - namely childhood leukemia and chemotherapy. However I'm in for some long nights and a distraction that doesn't take up too much time but gives me a little boost would be most welcome. I'll try and post tonight if I don't fall asleep first (I've not slept since Tuesday night) otherwise early next week.
