In my head, I felt that the no-killing rule actually altered several games, as if there is such an option in every game. It’s implied that Feet of Rage had Fatality removed, so the worst thing M. Kangaroo can do to Pira’s dad is perform the Babality, compelling a middle aged man to raise his daughter all over again from infancy.
Babality is cute… but Mortal Kombat never tells you all the trouble it causes to spare your opponent in this way.
Barbaric Commando is named after Bionic Commando, which shocked late-80s NES-gamers when Zombie Hitler not only says a swear ("damn"), but his head explodes in the dialogue box when you shoot him in the face with a bazooka.
Thundra has definitely been drenched in the blood of her enemies before the switch was toggled to All-Bad-Guys-Are-Robots Mode. I believe there are many Samurai Jack episodes that show him bisecting robots and getting drenched in gratuitous sprays (read: geysers) of oil. Thundra’s game is probably like that.
