Aka Nishin escorts you to the balcony. What you see is chaos and destruction! There are panicking crowds fleeing as a skyscraper starts to crack… crack—CRACK! Black jagged lines zigzag all over the concrete structure, expelling rubble. Windows spiderweb and burst! The 14th floor collapses to the 12th floor, the 47-story building becomes 45 stories tall, 39… dust billows as the whole thing comes crashing down!

Through the haze, you see it. You see him. A kangaroo standing several stories tall, eyes glowing metallic blue. Behind him, a wake of destruction. You can only see what’s left of broken buildings.

Aka Nishin says to Pira, "No taxi is crazy enough to take you to Kanga-Roy." How the master already knows the bad guy’s name and why it isn’t Kill-Roo, which sounds better, is best left unasked. "You must travel on foot."

A street lamp topples, the light bursting into shards and sparks as it collides with the temple rooftop. Pira, Thundra and Kurumi can slide down the metal pole—
OOC:
Please start your post by narrating how cool (or uncool, if you prefer) your heroine looks as she slides down the toppled lamppost! It’s metal and at a ~45-degree angle. Pix can fly, of course.
—from the street, you can see the tromping feet up ahead, and through the dust clouds, the shadow of the colossal mechanized beast! As it thrashes about, there are panicking crowds. And among the screams, you hear cries for help!

A woman’s voice is coming from within the smoky cracked windows of a flaming car! Its hood is mashed against the corner of a building that’s on the verge of collapse!

A man with a tire iron is trying to pry open a bent door, but he drops his tool as he is pelted by rubble raining down from above!
OOC:
Kanga-Roy Chase Scene
• Roll 2d6 Hero to perform a feat of strength or do something brazenly heroic. This saves innocent people from being harmed or trapped!

~OR~

• Roll 2d6 Sprite to make a deft or stealthy move. This helps the team get closer to the enemy without being noticed (by his laser-eyes)!

No matter what, you won’t be close enough to attack on this turn.
You’re several blocks away from the metal monstrosity! You somehow get the feeling none of the innocent people will die if you dash past them to the enemy… but isn’t saving the innocent what heroes do?
May 29, 2024 10:30 am
Thundra leaps onto the bent pole and grinds down its length, her leather boots seemingly having the proper frictionless soles to do such a thing! As she leaps down and surveys the chaotic scene, she quickly sees the woman trapped in the car. The barbarian rushes over, grabs the hood of the car, and rips it clean off to free the woman! "Go! Get out of here!" she shouts.

Kurumi gets a metal rod and uses it as a board to balance on top of the bent pole, and grind down its length, following Thundra. She is sure her shoes are not frictionless. The metal rod leave sparks as it grinds down the pipe. She lands with a majestic pose and follows Thundra.

Along the way she stops and enters a shop where a small girl was crying. She grabs her but when they try to exit the building starts to collapse. "Oh no!" Kurumi says but without hesitation starts to dance through the falling ceiling and avoid any debris. As they exit the shop, Kurumi poses a heroic pose before she puts the girl to the ground and behind them a dust cloud erupts and covers them, from the falling building. They both cough heavily from the dust and then they look eachother and laugh.

"Now, go to your parents, okay?" she says to the girl and then she goes to find Thundra, Pira and Pix.
OOC:
GM Note - that’s a hit!

Kurumi and Thundra save the innocents at ground level. But suddenly there is another yelp from high above!

You all look up to see a carpenter in red overalls. He’s clinging to a purple girder protruding from a broken building—but his white gloves don’t have the best grip.

He falls, arms flapping wildly as he screams,

M
A
M
A

M
I
A
A
A

A

.

Pix swoops into the air and catches the rotund little workman!

"Oh! Thank-a you!" he says in a bizarre accent. His bushy moustache perks to match the shape of his smile as the fairy carries him off to safety!
OOC:
Pira can still act.
Jun 2, 2024 12:08 am
Pira outright ignores the pole as a method of getting down, instead jumping from one of the temple's slanted roofs to another. Besides, everyone knows that fall damage doesn't exist unless there are spikes underneath you, and the last time she checked there were no spikes around this building. Just weirdly talkative vending machines.

As they get onto their route to get the dastardly Kanga-Roy, Pira immediately sees the problem. Because Thundra, Pix and Kurumi all immediately go for saving the innocents. Which is, sure, great stuff; but it doesn't get them closer to the goal! That's something she absolutely butted heads with Jin's crew about, and now these otherworldly gals are doing the same? That just means she'll have to be the one getting everyone back on track, again. Or at least helping them do the saving faster, before they *all* get obliterated by a space laser or a universe-breaking kangaroo bot.

"You all better be darn thankful for it, random civilians!" She complains as she grabs a basket full of kitties - how did it get here, exactly?.. - about to be crushed by random debris and throws it at a petite old lady who looks like she's qualified to take care of some kitties. "Heads up, grandma!"
OOC:
...this qualifies as a heroic action, right? Pira isn't good at heroics. XD

Pira contemplates her teammates’ heroic efforts. It is a very real possibility that, if nobody finds a safe route to the gargantuan laser-eyed robo-monsteroo, well… that’s how heroines get laser-eyed.

But then, they’re heroines! Saving people is the bandwagon a hero should jump on. So, Pira taps that Jump button, and with all the people on the block already rescued, she finds the next-cutest victim: an arm fulla kittens!

The lady in the car, the guy told to go home, and the crazy cat lady give three cheers for our three heroines!

"HIP HIP H🩷❤️R🩵Y!!"

Unfortunately, this draws a lot of unwanted attention from the aforementioned laser-eyed kanga-bot!

It shouts,
"TASTE A RAINBOW OF PAIN."

It then fires lasers from its eyes, and they are entirely fuchsia, which is not anybody’s idea of a rainbow. Kanga-Roy might have been a lot more accurate about the pain part. Dodge lasers to not find out!
OOC:
Defensive roll first - 2d6 Anti-Hero to avoid the lasers!
Then take action! You can’t attack without getting closer!
• Roll 2d6 Sprite to dart toward the beast swiftly and silently!

~OR~

• Roll 2d6 Hero to let out an intimidating-but-attention-drawing battle cry as you charge!
Jun 3, 2024 7:58 am
Thundra grunts and staggers as the lasers strike her head on. Her pained growls turn into a fierce battle cry as she raises her giant club and charges at the mechanical kangaroo.

"BANGOOOO!!!!"

Kurumi reminds herself the laser lights on a dance floor that she used to dance. She expects that they will hurt, but so does ballet training! She will outdance the kangaroo through the pain.

Just thought to mention, @Alepous, you can add this code anywhere onto your character sheet and then you can automatically add rolls with the correct formatting. Just so you don't need to edit in results?

Thundra’s charge nearly draws laser-eyed wrath from Kanga-Roy—but Pira’s taunt prompts the giant robot to turn its gaze to her.

"FAIR AND SQUARE IS THE PROBLEM… I ONCE HAD AN UNBLOCKABLE FULL-SCREEN ATTACK. I HAD A DOUBLE JUMP WITH A TRIPLE AERIAL FIREBALL. AND THE SHIN-KANGA UPPERCUT…

"IT WAS NERFED.

"WHY?"

The giant robot kicks a taxi cab in frustration.

Who has to duck? - (d2+3)

The cab twirls through the air and is headed straight for Thundra!
OOC:
Thundra, roll 1d6 Anti-Hero to duck! And she’s probably the one heroine who can get hit by a flying taxi cab and keep charging, so—

—Everyone, you can all attack this round!
Nothing is stopping Pira from charging straight at the enemy, and Kurumi managed to sneak up on the mechanical menace! Maybe our heroines can topple Kanga-Roy before it destroys the city! (Or what’s left of it.)
Jun 4, 2024 3:49 am
"Hey, you aren't the only one who got nerfed!" Pira yells in response, righteously affronted. "I could stun lock everyone, remember?! The whole Piranha Swing combo during the Dragon conflict? Yeah, that one!" She weaves between the cars as she runs towards the Kanga-Roy's robotic legs, then jumps onto a truck so she can launch herself from a higher ground straight into the robot's face. "But I ain't being a baby about it, you silly kangaroo! Come on, be a real one, work with what you have and don't go for cheap solutions with some alien tech!"

The cab smacks directly into Thundra, knocking her to the ground. She lies there for a moment, dazed, but then she roars in fury and shoves the cab off of her! The barbarian hops back up to her feet, hair disheveled, body bruised but not broken. "I've heard of 'catching a cab,' but that was ridiculous!" she growls.

"Now it's my turn!" With a wicked glint in her eye, Thundra leaps through the air to bring her giant club down on the Kanga-Roy!

Kurumi starts mumbling a rythm between her lips. With a graceful, fluid motion, her body sways back and forth in a rhythmic pattern, feet shifting from side to side, creating a dance-like sway that sets the tempo and keeps her in constant motion. Suddenly, she bursts into action with a sweeping kick that arcs through the air like a crescent moon. The movement is swift and precise, blending strength with elegance. She moves like liquid, her body flowing from one form to another. Acrobatics are woven into the dance, with cartwheels and handstands adding a layer of athleticism and flair. She never loses her rhythm, her movements synchronized with the beat she is silenty singing.

Every strike makes a dent in the oversized opponent! Thundra’s super strength knocks a screw loose!

"‘BABY’ YOU SAY... I WILL FINISH YOU WITH MY BABAL I TY."

The cityscape darkens like a moonless night. Kangaroo-Roy’s glowing eyes illuminate its target.
OOC:
Pira, roll 3D6 Anti-Hero! Getting super-combo’d will be really bad! A hit or combo will not incapacitate you, and you will have your 4th 🔥 for a 4d6 attack.

You cannot act next round if super-combo’d!
Apparently, Pira’s taunt reminded Kanga-Roy of a promise.
[ +- ] Flashback
Thundra and Kurumi might surmise that the monster is more Kanga than Roy at the moment, and whatever it wants to do to Pira is probably really bad!

What can they do?
OOC:
Kirumi & Thundra, attack (3d6 Hero)

…or take some other kind of action (2d6 Hero or Sprite), if you can think there’s a better move than beating the bad guy up. (Both narrative and dice would have to convince me, though!)

"You do know that FRIENDSHIP is much more popular, right? That's why you're not the most popular villain, Kanga-boy!" Pira yells back at him as she darts to the side, out of the spotlight cast by the laser eyes. "You need more style! Where is the connection, where is the flair?! And your fashion sense is non-existent!"

The robot kangaroo roars and tries to attack, but Pita stylishly rolls out of the way, skids to a stop next to a building wall and grins. "You missed." Her eyes glint with bloodthirsty delight. "And I won't."

"FRIENDSHIP? FRIENDSHIP?!"

The unfashionable smash-bot is flustered by Pira’s retort. Its eye-beams melt steel and shatter glass as it fires through three skyscrapers. Its Kanga-Box Combo bursts a water tower and topples twin smokestacks from the Steel Factory! It Reppa-Headbutt-Mashes a rooftop seconds after Pira leaps to safety! And its Combo Finish, Babality Breath, simply transforms a tree in the central park. It shrinks to become a healthy little sapling.

Thundra shatters her spiked club over Kanga-"Boy’s" metal head! Kurumi spin-kicks it in the teeth! And Pira adds injury to insult—only striking once, because one hit is all she needs…

https://i.imgur.com/u1v27Al.jpeg

There’s a deafening crash! The ground quakes! Our heroines instinctively bolt to safety…
…somehow they know the people of Neo Kobe were safely evacuated. And they made it out too, though they don’t recall running very far.

Kurumi, Pira and Thundra can feel cool grass at their backs. The air is pleasant, the fresh scent of spring blossoms in a gentle wind. Sunbeams dance through a misty mid-morning sky.
