Welcome @Turanel2

This thread is for your character creation. Take a look at welcome and character creation.

If you have any questions you can post them here or if you think they are general on the Q&A

I didn't know I would have to relearn HTML! This might take a while. I am using the Tiny Dungeon 2nd Edition rule set for Character creation. Id that ok?
May 22, 2024 12:43 pm
That's fine
No html needed. The buttons above will do most the work
I have character creation guidelines that walk you through it as I do it a bit different. I also allow a bit of flexibility so if you have a trait idea and don't see a trait that matches it let me know and we'll work something up

Welcome @Turanel2,

As requested by our DM, I'll be happy to help you through Character creation.
- The Tiny Dungeon 2nd Ed. does have all the rules you will need, and the details on the process of creation itself.
- In the character creation guidelines mentioned by Psybermagi you will find the same (although simplified) AND house rules (like details on different heritage for this game).

I suggest you to read the guidelines first, and draft what you would like your character to be like. Probably you have one or two heritages you are considering? We don't use classes or professions but maybe a few traits already look what your character may need. If you have any doubts, let us know!

The normal process would be to:
1. Select a Heritage
2. Select 2 traits
3. Select a weapon Group to be proficient with
4. Select a Trade
5. Set characters Belief

Oh, I just realised... Welcome to GamersPlane!

oh boy, I was following the beginners guide on GP and created my character that way. The edit button there using Tiny dungeon template just had HTML code, which I muddled through. I submitted it before I saw this forum had a bunch of updates. @Cathamber, thanks for the welcome. are you able to see the character, I submitted?

I approved you character. I can that to point of my sheets tonight if you want.
You can use whichever sheet you like.
The only changes are that you start with 1 less trait and no weapon mastery.
I did this for simplifying things for beginners and for rapid initial growth

You also start with a minor magic item for flavor/flair and perhaps utility but no real power advantage

Thank Psybermagi, I've removed the Sneaky trait and I would appreciate using your sheet if it is not too much trouble. Is there a list of magic items available? or do I suggest something? If I can suggest: an amulet of agility: gives advantage on agility test once per day.

Also, please be sure to mark your character as publicly viewable. That will help everyone else immensely.

The instructions on how to do that are shown in this post.

Traits

Charismatic: I can get what I want without even asking. You gain Advantage when attempting to convince someone of something or otherwise influence them.
Spell-Touched: It runs in the family. Your family carries magic in the blood, and while the centuries have diluted the power, you
are still able to subtly influence the world around you by merely willing it to happen.
Heritage: Goblin
Heritage Traits
Goblin Agility: You can Test 1d6 whenever you are successfully hit by an enemy. If your Test is successful, you evade the attack and do not take damage. Declaring Evade as an Action has no additional benefit.

Weapon Proficiencies

_X_ Light__ Medium__Heavy

Mastered Weapons:
Short Sword, Dagger

Spell-Touched are able to subtly affect their surroundings; they can produce small illusory objects, make small objects turn invisible, conjure light sources or phantom sounds from nowhere, manipulate and move small objects, or even ignite or douse small flames, just to name a few examples. Spell-Touched individuals are also able to sense magic around them or in items. To use this ability, simply describe in detail what you are trying to do and perform a standard 2d6 Test. If you are trying to manipulate an object, you must have eye contact with it. You can also perform a simple Ranged attack with magic, such as a magic bolt. This is treated just like any other Ranged attack in
Combat and requires an Action and a successful 2d6 Test.
Inventory

I clicked the button that the hover over says "add to library". I hope that it is now public.

As she is a goblin, shouldn't she have only 5 HP?

Just checking ...

According to 2nd edition pdf I have Goblins get 4HP. Unless homebrewing and I'm obviously good with that 😂

We'll get your a story going today

Yeah, 4 is just too narrow of a window. Particularly with the introduction of heavy weapons that do 2HP of damage and critical hits that can add another HP of damage. The amazing part is that the publisher introduced a heritage (Halfling) that starts with just 3 HP! I don't know how that is supposed to work, unless you plan on going through a lot of halflings during play.

(In Psybermagi's game, the lowest starting HP you get is 5.)

For the goblins and the Goblin agility trait, it maybe that they get a 1 die test every time they get hit. It's a 30% chance to avoid the damage that is always on with no limit per round. I am just guessing and I am happy with the extra hit point.
May 22, 2024 9:41 pm
You are absolutely correct on why goblins only have 4 HP. They do get the ability to roll a 1d6 test on every single hit to see if they can avoid the damage. Since you are only getting hit on 2/3 of the attacks, then you theoretically only need 2/3 the hit points. Thus the 4 HP instead of 6 HP. However, even with that, it can go south very, very quickly, with very few die rolls. Even without the critical hits house rule.
