OOC:
I was going to wait and see if anyone else was rolling, but I guess I will.

Kadmos, out of curiosity, will take a moment to inspect the strange aparatus.

It seems to be some kind of device to control something, but what it control and how to activate it don't make any sense to you.
OOC:
1 more person can try or you can proceed down the hallway

"It might command the noxious belching," Omeros suggested, pointing back the way they came from the poison gas.
OOC:
Omeros has 0 Arcana, sorry.
In terms of design, does the control mechanism have any distinctive features (reliefs, engravings, etc.) or is it unassuming?

While the others try and decipher the mechanism, Chironides explores the passageway to the east.

The glyph appears to have multiple runes about it. You aren't sure what the multiple combinations of runes do. Some might turn off the gas, while others might open the doors, but opening the doors without first turning off the gas would be a problem. It is also possible the glyph is rigged to explode if you give an invalid command, though that is only an assumption.

Chironides peaks around the hallway and sees an elaborate room with intricate double doors on the north wall. This definitely screams "I lead to a throne room". The hallways does continue, though, and looks to lead into a natural cave.

As for Isaiah, he is trapped on the southern side, any closer north than the end of the bridge will result in inhaling poisonous gas. The gas isn't opaque and has no odor, but you can sense its presence as you near the end of the bridge. The only opening you see so far is a wooden bridge to the left that leads somewhere no one has gone yet and that is about 35 feet away and 15 feet lower than the bridge you are on.

OOC:
What is everyone else doing? Greyworld wants to keep his actions private since you all would not see them, but there is nothing stopping you all from acting during this time. I should be able to keep things straight. As a reminder, you have 1 more attempt to understand the magical device if you want, not mandatory. You also know that there seems to be an elaborate set of doors in the room over, as well as the hallway continuing into a natural cave area. You know Isaiah is not with you, so probably not the best idea to go through the elaborate doors yet.

Chiron goes into the natural cave area, seaching for enemies.
Jun 26, 2024 7:36 pm
You enter and see there appears to be a body of water on the far side of the cave. Between your current location and the body of water there appears to be an intersection that leads north. You think you hear some voices in that intersection. What would you like to do? Sneak past to the body of water (stealth check)? Try to listen in on the conversation (perception check based on hearing)? or return to the group (no check required)?

Chiron asks Omeros to dismount and let the other know what hes doing. Taking to he ceiling he makes his way across to the other side.
Jun 26, 2024 7:47 pm
Chironides, please give me a stealth check. Even if it is on the ceiling, you make noise when you walk. Keep in mind the ceiling the ceiling of a cave, and thus stalactites are there. it is reasonable to assume sections of the ceiling might be difficult terrain.
