Nestled in the shadow of Manhattan's skyline lies the Macallistar Building, with its faded art deco façade and a history that no one seems to remember.

When a reclusive artist named Abigail Wright mysteriously disappears from her apartment, you’re tasked with unraveling the enigma she left behind. Her apartment is a chaotic mosaic of unfinished works, strange artifacts, and organised chaos. And you’ve been told to document all of it.

As you delve deeper, the building reveals its true nature. The tenants, each more peculiar than the last, all speak in nonsense, and hint that Abigail has "gone upstairs". Some claim to have seen her, others whisper of things lurking upstairs, and a few have ventured there never to return. The Night Floors are a place where time slips through your fingers like sand, where the familiar becomes foreign, and every door you open could lead to your salvation - or your doom.

What secrets lie hidden in the labyrinthine corridors of the Macallistar Building? What drove Abigail Wright to madness, and where has she gone? With each step, the lines between reality and nightmare blur, drawing you further into a mystery that has consumed others before you.

...and your world is a lie. A horror freed from an antique book reverberates through
reality, shaking things, reordering them and making them run like wax. Doors open
to endless Victorian hallways where threats stalk the shadows on clockwork limbs,
cold metal seeking the warmth of blood and bone. Madness pursues at every turn,
baring its teeth to speak your name, and you can’t escape because it’s inside you.

Gameplay Tips:
Δ Delta Green is primarily a detective game.
Δ Consider every action and what the consequences could be for you and the team.
Δ On the other hand, decisions need to be made quickly.
Δ Combat in Delta Green is deadly and serious. PC death is a big part of the game.
Δ If you are caught committing a crime you can go to prison. Delta Green agents investigate outside the law and need to hide their activities.
Δ If your character sees something or does something violent, your sanity may be penalised.
Δ If your character witnesses the unnatural, your sanity may be penalised.

As an Agent, you know Delta Green operations have four basic steps:
I. Identify the possible existence of a preternatural anomaly.
II. Confirm or deny the anomaly as preternatural in nature.
III. Eliminate the source of the preternatural anomaly.
IV. Ensure public ignorance of both Delta Green and preternatural threats.
Hello! Thanks for clicking on my thread! I assume if you clicked, you’re at least lightly interested in Delta Green and for that I am authorised to tell you that you have excellent taste!

My name is bravend, and I’ve done play-by-post roleplay for over 15 years. I am new to playing in the format Gamersplane uses, with dice and such, but I’ve really been enjoying my time playing here so far and I’m pretty confident I can figure it all out with only mild growing pains. I have GM’d for in-person TTRPG games, including Delta Green. I have run my real life group through The Night Floors and they all enjoyed it! I think it is a scenario that will translate well to play-by-post.

I like paragraph-style roleplay, and do like to write a lot. This doesn’t mean I will always write huge chunks of texts, but sometimes I will. I want any games I run here to focus on character development and interaction, along with interaction with the environment. I encourage detailed writing and really getting in the head of your character.

Delta Green deals with mature themes. This game is open to adults only. This scenario is more focused on general spookiness, but will deal with themes of violence and death. I tossed around a few different scenarios to run here and I think this is probably the best one to start with.

I am open to all players who are open to my style! If you’ve never played Delta Green before, that’s fine! Just be open to being exceptionally prone to character insanity and character death.

For this scenario, you may make your own Agents (characters). I can also provide characters. I do not have any restrictions on character creation as long as the handbook is followed properly. You are all relatively new to working for Delta Green, but have done one or two missions for Delta Green already before you are all called to this next operation. You will all be operating under L-Cell, so while all Agents have their own real name, their Agent name must be a generic-sounding name that starts with the letter L.

For post frequency, I am aiming for several posts a week from each player. At least one every two days.

Please let me know if you are interested! And if anyone has questions, always happy to do my best to answer!

I am looking for five players maximum. I currently have one person potentially interested.

This sounds awesome! I've heard good things about this scenario, and I've been really interested in trying out Delta Green. I've played Call of Cthulhu and various Gumshoe games, but I'd be a newbie here. If you'll have me, I might look at creating an agent who works for the Smithsonian, like a curator of something. But that's just off the top of my head.

The only potential issue is that I don't tend to write long PbP posts. If that's a requirement for you, I'll cede my seat to someone else! :)

That's no problem! I never expect others to copy what I like haha. As long as you don't mind reading sometimes!

Thank you for your interest! I love your character concept already! And it's also fine if you do join and decide not to use that concept haha.

I am definitely interested. I love DG.

I'm interested, but I've not looked at Delta Green since the 90s, looks like there's been a couple of versions since then what version will this be?

Thanks for asking! There is only one edition of Delta Green. The 90s version was written for Call of Cthulhu.

There is a free "need to know" quickstart package on the official site: https://www.delta-green.com/2016/02/download-delta-green-need-to-know/

That's great! If everyone here is keen, we'd have 5!

I'll get to setting up the game asap, by the weekend at the latest.

Others are welcome to make interest known, and if anyone is no longer interested please let us know!

Still happy to answer questions or provide any other info someone might want

Thank you for letting me know! If someone declines an invite it's good to have others who would be keen!

Played Impossible Landscapes last year with a live group -- pretty fantastic time. Nice pitch, bravend -- good luck with the game and have a ball, everyone!

I'm definitely interested as well, have been hoping to play a DG game for awhile now. If you end up needing a replacement, put me in coach!

Given the level of interest, I'll drop out and let someone else take my place - I'm probably in too many games as is...
Aug 15, 2024 8:46 pm
Thank you for the interest, everyone! I have created the game and will get relevant info set up and send out invites asap, no later by the end of the weekend! (Likely sooner but I'm still figuring out how to do this right)
Aug 16, 2024 3:25 pm
I've sent out invites! I'm still setting up the game forum but we can get started on character creation. I'll wait two days for the current invites to be accepted or not, and see what the status is there.

I left a sixth spot open depending on how managing 5 players is.

I wanted to drop in and express my interest as well, even though it looks like you're already full up to bursting the rafters.

Oh boy, I would like to go upstairs with Ms. Abigail...
