Scene 3: The Dungeon

A lone torch at the end of its life lights the entrance to this musty dungeon. Leaning against one wall is a skeleton without a skull. Clutched in one of its bony hands is a fine scimitar. Those with darkvision can see further into the darkness and identify other curious items -- a shield, a book, and a frosty staff -- are scattered throughout the gloom. Multiple ladders at the far side ascend to closed cell doors.

Three black globs of ooze creep across the middle of the dungeon floor. Behind them, floating in the air, are several items: a glowing yellow gemstone, a skull, and a silvered frying pan.
Aug 30, 2024 6:54 pm
Crocodile Leana inflates her nostrils. Multiple olfactory receptors help her make sense of the new surroundings.
She finds herself still agitated by the dangers they have just avoided on the other side of the door. As Leana gets a whiff of the oozy puddles her instincts tell her to save her friends from the animated black stuff. Her reptile brain does not seem interested in anything other than eliminating the threat for now.

Leana moves her scaly body forward to the first offending goo and bites into it without reserve.

Skillfully ignoring Hindle and Merton's whining and urging, Brickowsky decides on the correct key, deliberately inserts it into the lock and opens it without haste. If you're in a hurry, you just can't afford to be hastily- old words. Genuine words. Slow and steady wins the race. Once more.

Entering the room behind the wonderous door, the dwarf sighs in relief. Luck belongs to the brave. The magician smugly scratches his chin and is amazed at what can be found here. So much potentially magical stuff! His hands start to sweat and his eyes take on a strange shine.

He, in addition, gives the torch a extended, suspicious look. Who probably lit this? A torch burns for approx. 1 hour. Could this be the result of the disappearance of this odd Rumwell character? Hardly. They've presumably been on the road too long for that now, right?

When Leana suddenly rushes forward, the dwarf also realizes that these treasures are well guarded, the magician wakes up from his thoughts and spreads his arms with a theatrical gesture to let Magic rain down on the oozes. MAGIC! Worth the capitals!
OOC:
Could it have been Rumwell, considering our short rest etc., or does that seem unlikely to Brickowsky?

How are the Oozes? Can I bring them into the radius of the Shatter Spell? Or a Thunderwave? Needless to say without hurting Leana!

Shatter: erupts from a point of your choice within range. Each creature in a 10-foot-radius sphere centered on that point

Thunderwave: Each creature in a 15-foot cube originating from you
Aug 30, 2024 9:24 pm
OOC:
Heh, for surprising the oozes and the GM, everyone may take one attack or move before the battle begins! Please also roll initiative after listing out what you would like to do before the oozes get it together to fight back. I will be putting up a map, the initiative list, and what your moves/attacks did so far.

As for Rumwell lighting the torch, it is a possibility. Just because he spirited away does not mean he could not have also visited this dungeon after your short rest or while you were in the caves.

Initially drawn to the variousl items visible from the doorway, Hindles attention is quickly drawn to the source of the faint squelching noises. Dark glistening forms stretch and roll across the floor. The amorphous wet looking things quickly approach and are immediately set up on by the Leanodile! Shocked into action, Hindle take a step forward and strikes out with two corruscating blasts before he even has time to think about it.

Ooze 1 and 3 try to consolidate themselves to withstand the damage from Brickowsky's Shatter spell.

They cannot withstand Brickowsky's amazing magic and can be seen violently wiggling from the force. An acrid smell fills the air as the oozes are affected by the fire quality of the spell.

Hindle at first steps forward, drawn by treasures, but is stopped as these black amorphous blobs sidle up and Leana attacks them before they can cause any harm to her companions. Hindle steps forward once more to avoid hitting his party members and shoots an eldritch blast from each hand at the two closest blobs. With the violent wiggling of Blob 1 from the Shatter spell, Hindle's blast unfortunately misses and shoots into empty wall. However, Blob 2 gets hit squarely in the middle and a hole can be seen clean through before it is filled in again by the rest of the ooze.
OOC:
@Dhakhan Don't forget your initiative roll!

Brickowsky now moves far back away from the blobs and sends a fire bludgeoning bolt at Ooze 1. The bolt violently shoots a piece of ooze off and it shrivels up as the acrid smell worsens around them.

The blobs begin to retreat after the massive damage.

Merton stays hidden in the shadows.

Leanodile takes a quick nip of Ooze 1 before it retreats (3 piercing damage) and then rushes forward her full movement to take another large bite out of Ooze 1 (7 piercing damage). The ooze is starting to have trouble keeping its shape like its brethren are doing. As Leanodile's power jaws clamp down, she feels another wave of acid wash through her sharp teeth (4 acid damage). Brickowsky readies his next move.

Ooze 1 is unable to get loose from Leanodile's grappling bite and is stuck in place until Leanodile releases it from her jaws. (Attacks Affected. Merton melts into Hindle's shadow and peeks out to throw wicked purple blades at Ooze 2. More pieces of acidic slime blast off and dissolve into the dungeon floor as it starts to lose its shape. Hindle yelps a bit as Merton attacks and hides again behind him.

Ooze 2, barely able to hold its blobby mess together, retreats further back and it is now difficult to see it as its dark mass blends into the shadows. Anyone without darkvision may have disadvantage on their attacks unless a light source is created near it.

Brickowsky huffs and puffs to Leana's side, staying clear of the pudding trapped in Leanodile's jaws. He fires a fiery force bolt at the pudding on its last legs. Even though it is difficult to see, he can tell its darker form is pushed back into the wall between the cells with a satisfying *SPLAT* as it squishes against the dungeon wall. In that case, the ooze will still stay in place at C6, since it is only released from the grapple due to Leanodile changing back to Leana. Yes, unfortunately the acid damage also goes to Leanodile since she was the only enemy it could attack during the grapple. Leana's turn then!
Sep 15, 2024 7:30 am
As the acid splashes against the crocodile’s scaly hide, there’s a sizzling sound. The druid, still in her wildshape, feels the heat seeping through, and before she can react, her crocodile form begins to wobble like a soap bubble about to burst.

With a sudden POP, her snout shortens, her tail shrinks, and scales vanish in a comical puff of mist, leaving her standing—fully human again—staring wide-eyed at the source of her undoing: the pathetic remains of the last black ooze.

"Oh well," she sighs and flexes her fingers, preparing for a more traditional—and significantly less reptilian—response. "Of course. I always forget about the acid," she grumbles under her breath. Leana conjures up a vine out of the dark air surrounding them. For a moment it moves serpentlike above her head, growing spikes - then it follows the druid's rapid movement downward and meets the offending black puddle with force.

With the second mentioning of cube shaped jellies, Hindle attempt to find what the hell this guy is talking about. "What is all this about cubes?" A moment later, the second odd thing said registers and Hindles eyes sting momentarily at the memory of his dousing at the inn. "Hot sauce? I have some fairly piquant wing sauce. What good is hot sauce to you now?"

As Merton and Hindle talk with Alax about the jelly cube, the jelly cube takes the opportunity to move closer to the adventurers. As it moves closer, it is much easier for Hindle to tell now that the floating skull, yellow gem, and frying pan are floating within a shiny clear cube: a gelatinous cube monster!

Alax replies "I used to feed the little cube hot sauce and it'd leave me alone. If you have any of my hot sauce, it might distract it while we get out of here! Of course, blasting it away will also take care of the issue..."

Leana looks at the others and makes her move.

Protecting its young is only natural. "Let's deal with this peacefully", she states and walks over to Hindle. "Locks are your thing, I believe" she whispers and takes the last bit of hot sauce. The young druid opens the flask and says in a deep friendly voice: "Who's a good cube. You are. Are you not? Yes, you are. Come li'l cubey, cubey. Come get the hot sauce..." She takes a few steps back and as she is sure she has got its attention and the cube comes for the bottle, she throws it into the corner farthest away from Ajax' cell.

Leana moves back in the direction of the cell.

As Hindle warns the party about what they are facing, Merton decides to focus on either ending this cube or at least getting the skull out of the cube. He pops out again from behind Hindle and sends another psychic blade at the cube. The cube, so focused on moving forward, is surprised by the blade.

The psychic blade slices right through the cube and the skull is blasted out and onto the ground, right in front of the cell the green claw poked out of!

Leana watches this unfold and decides to end the conflict. She confidently strides up to Hindle, retrieves one of the hot sauce bottles he stowed, and catches the attention of the gelatinous cube and its baby with the Inn's hot sauce. As the cube and its baby begin to move with the movement of the hot sauce bottle, Leana moves further back and chucks it back towards where they had entered! The cubes dash past everyone without touching any of them and starts slurping up the hot sauce. The clear cube begins to take on a tinge of red from the hot sauce it absorbs. The adventurers can see the gem and frying pan still floating inside of it. The baby cube is now visible. It is barely a foot in height and also slowly turning red as it eats its fill of hot sauce.

Looking rather pleased how Leana handled the situation, Brickowsky calls out: "Help is on the way, Ajax.

Merton, please free this strapping greenscaled lad out his predicament."
Locked doors seem to be the halflings speciality.

Close to the gloomy area, the dwarf waddles forward and picks up the curious items. A shield, a book and a frosty staff. If there is more, he would also put it in the bag of holding for the moment. Also the scimitar if possible. If not, because the blade is locked in a cell, the wizard would send Roaring Kitty with the aid of his mage hand to gather the weapon.

Glancing over to the little cube family, Brickowsky tries discerning if their group is save here for the moment, or if they should move along, before talking to the inn owner. And talking a closer look at the loot. Maybe they could use some of it on their quest?
Sep 23, 2024 3:02 am
Alax replies with "Okay, thanks..." and waits to be released.

Brickowsky gathers up the items he initially saw in the dungeon: a shield, a book and a frosty staff. To be safe, he and Roaring Kitty stay a safe distance away as Mage Hand removes the scimitar from the skeleton's bony grasp. The group will need to take time to identify the items and their usefulness. He glances at the cubes, but notices they are now fully red and not moving at all. Just a little wiggle from the baby cube once in a while. From what he remembers about gelatinous cubes, they are probably satiated and will not purposefully move to absorb anything for 12 hours. They do block the way they came in though so no other way but forward now. With the gelatinous cubes no longer hostile and the black puddings dissolved, they should easily be able to rest without issue.

Before discussing rest with the others, he tries to determine if the gem and frying pan that float inside the adult cube would be important. The frying pan, at least, was mentioned by Alax so they may have more of an opinion. And gems are always good to have for dwarves. The most interesting thing about the yellow gem is that it seems to be glowing.

Merton swiftly moves out from behind Hindle's back and unlocks Alax's cell. It is surprisingly a similar lock to the ones he saw at Inn Plain Sight so it is no problem for him to pick it. He would certainly recommend the owner change the locks in this dungeon if they were to continue using them for their intended purpose. He unlocks all the cell doors while he is at it before he melts into the shadows for whatever may come, including rest.

The constantly aforementioned Alax Jadescales now exits out of his cell. A surprisingly tall dragonborn steps out, covered in jade green scales. Though looking a little worse for wear, the dragonborn still moves with ease towards the party.

"My thanks mighty adventurers. Unfortunately, I had only been on the other side of these bars before and had no idea on how to escape. Far be it from me to be grateful, but why and how are you here...?"
Oct 1, 2024 7:03 am
"Well... all of this started as an culinary adventure." the dwarf shares with Jadescales jovially. "But that Merry Rumwell, strange fellow if you ask my opinion, and some dubious hints brought us into this rather fun mess." Recaping, that they had discovered some clues in the inn and what they had learned about the Hard Way, Brickowsky shows the second key he possesses at the moment. "Alax, good chap, do you know what door this one might open?"

"And your cat - Pouncy, was it? - have you found her yet?"

As Alax plops down on a decaying bench, he listens intently to Brickowsky recount their adventures thus far. Unbeknownst to them, another is listening in a cell nearby.

As the dwarf produces the golden key, Alax crouches forward to get a better look.

"Huh, I’ve never seen that key before! You guys really are adventurers! I’m lucky you answered our call for heroes during this time…"

The Dragonborn sighs a little when asked about Pouncy and he smiles sadly at Roaring Kitty.

"No, unfortunately I haven’t found hair nor tail of my poor little Pouncy. I’m sure that wicked Rumwell has something to do with it. Maybe to trade me for our famous hot sauce recipe. Unless you’ve found her…?"
Oct 3, 2024 7:04 am
Putting the key away, the dwarf listens further to Alax, before bobbing his head in regret: "Not that we know of, I am sorry to say."

Taking a calculating look at his friends and the jelly cube family, Brickowsky starts musing. Is this a good place to take a breath and to identify the items? It seems safe enough for the moment. The book and the frosty staff are calling him to identify. "Do we want to take some time in here, or do we continue our journey?"

"Do you know what's to be found behind this door?" the spellslinger asks the famous chef. "And do you want to return to your inn, or to accompany us? Maybe we find this Rumwell guy again and Pouncy...?" he suggests with an unsure smile.
OOC:
We found: a shield, a book and a frosty staff & a scimitar.

As a top-tier wizard, does Brickowsky have to use the identify spell (10 min per item), or can he do it with high enough arcana checks? Maybe with the help of anybody schooled in magic (Adv.) and the guidance spell?

Edging further away from the cubes, Hindle says, "I don’t know how long those things will be content, but i don’t want to sit around until they get ornery again. I’m also not going back out the front with that ", jerking his thumb back towards the way they entered, " Other thing out there coming after us."
To Jadescales he says,"Whatevers behind that door, i hope it’s not just your bedroom. I’m in no mood for a nap!"

Alax looks a little bashful at the inquiries and turns to Brickowsky and Hindle.

"That door should lead up to the first floor of the tower. Eh, honestly, I never found a party I trusted enough to enter it so I have only gone this far. If I may, I would accompany you though until we find Pouncy at least..."

The dragonborn takes a quick look at the gelatinous cube and its baby.

"We should be safe for a short rest as they don't bother me when I'm puttering about in here, but I am also eager to start looking for Pouncy..."

Out of the gloom of one of the now opened cells, a figure steps forward to inquire about joining the adventuring party as well.
OOC:
@Heyde That's your cue! Please feel free to make up why Firina ended up in a cell.
Oct 3, 2024 7:45 pm
Out of the gloomy cell steps a young woman, blonde, frecklish, half-elven and very athletic. The fancy clothes seem to have wasted a bit in this cell room. She wears a symbol on her neck of the moon. And she looks at all the others.

"Greetings" she says kindly. "And thank you for releasing me out of this prison. My name is Firina."

She looks around the surroundings here... the insides... and she frowns.

"Could anyone kindly inform me where I am? I had been heading to a place called the Inn Plain Sight. Is that nearby? I had been tracking some shady figures dealing in rare contraband goods. Unfortunatelly, being discreet in such investigations is not my speciality."
She frowns, immediatelly realizing that it was not very discreet to talk about this in the open either.
OOC:
Am I to assume that her gear in arm's reach somewhere? If so, she'll pick it up.
Oct 4, 2024 4:23 pm
The dragonborn claps his hands a little as Firina inquires about Inn Plain Sight.

"Oh, that's my place! Yes, it's right outside here, but we'll probably have to go through the tower to climb out as the jelly cubes appear to be hibernating in front of the usual way I take in here..."

A face familiar to the adventurers that have stumbled in pops out of the farthest cell.

Derv! A little dirty, but he otherwise appears unhurt.

"Not sure what happened, but I don't think I can continue."

He turns to Firina and starts to remove his gear.

"If you'll be joining them, you can take what I have. Not sure why they didn't take my gear too."
OOC:
Firina now has all the equipment listed on her character sheet.
He then looks at the whole group.

"After all this, I'm planning to retire for a while, but you can buy what I have off of me before I leave this place. I'll go as soon as those cubes move or after you clear an exit out of that tower Alax talks about."

"I think I am good, but do you have healing potions available, Alax? I think our friend here," she points at Leana "Can use some. Plus having a few on the road would not be a bad idea. Hibernating jelly cubes huh? Those could cause quite the burn I can imagine."

"No need to point, eh. Although ... I could use a little potion." Leana furrows her brow. "I'm Leana and I am looking for his kitten. It might be hurt."
She nods to Firina. In the druid's mind, she has thus explained the situation they're in well enough.

Then she steps over to Brickowsky and puts a warm hand on his shoulder as he looks at the objects with a keen eye. "Surely you can make sense of these, master dwarf. Can I support your focus?" Leana trusts, Brickowsky is willing and lends him some of her warmth.

Waiting till everybody has spoken to the half-elf, the spellslinger turns back to Alax and welcomes him as well: "Then just give me a second before we continue our journey into the tower, to find your lovely pet." he beams at the green-scaled dragonborn. "And this punk, Rumwell. I think he has a lot to answer for!"

After making an akward greeting to Firina, "Uh, I am Hindle Ambolong. At your service?" Disconcerted at the number of prisoners released from the cells, Hindle mutters, "What kind of thugs are we dealing with? ...But at least they didn't feed you to the ...cubes."

In reply to Firia's incredulity, "We have two ...aims. Cinderhowl's lair in search of Dragon cultists who perhaps are the same people you look for Firina. ...And a lost kitten."

Having no expertise in the mystic arcanum, Hindle leaves Brickowsky to his mumbling and guesturing, perferring to potter about looking in dark crannies. After a while he stops and asks Alax, "Do you have anything of the Kitten's that may make finding it easier? At toy it liked? Cat nip? Something to draw it out if we are close by?"
Oct 7, 2024 1:29 pm
Brickowsky concentrates on the items they have gathered so far. With Leana's help and guidance, he is able to identify almost all the items without using a spell!

The shield is a +1 Shield, useful for extra oomph when shoving and providing protection against incoming arrows, breath weapons, and the like.

The book he grabbed from behind the shield turns out to be a Tome of Clear Thought. Thumbing through the pages, the dwarf also finds a Speak with Dead spell scroll.

Finally, the scimitar that was in the headless skeleton's death grip is a Scimitar of Speed, allowing its wielder to hit twice as fast, making two attacks to each opponent's one.

Brickowsky can make some some good guesses on what the frosty staff does, but to understand its full powers, he may need additional help or take the time to use the Identify spell.
Oct 7, 2024 1:38 pm
Alax straightens up and digs through his pockets as Firina inquires about purchasing items. "Oh yes, I have my usual inventory with me. Rumwell captured me right before I was going to open Inn Plain Sight for the day. I do need to recoup my costs though so I could sell you 5 Potions of Healing for 200 gold..."

He then turns to Hindle as he asks about Pouncy's favorite things. "Oh, well of course Pouncy loves catnip like any good kitty would. His favorite toy is a mouse plushie I filled with catnip, but I left it in my room at the inn. He usually comes out of his hiding spot when I bring out meat for his meal. Hum, let me see if I can find anything else..."
Oct 7, 2024 1:38 pm
Finally, Derv grunts a little and looks over his old party. "Looks like you got hurt. Do any of you need some healing? I got health potions too, but just two, 50 gold each."
Oct 7, 2024 1:44 pm
Merton melts out of the gloom and the halfling rogue nods at Firina. "I'm Merton." He then fades back into the darkness.

"Erm, here's something I can let go. One of the adventurers sold it to me so they could buy something else in my inventory. They said it's good for wizards in war I suppose? I could let it go for 400 gold..."

He looks around and focuses on the glowing inside the adult gelatinous cube.

"Hey, that's right. There's a gem inside that one. I bet that has to be worth at least 400 gold and we could exchange for it. Or just getting my silvered frying pan would be worth it! That'll help me fight whatever is ahead of us..."
Oct 8, 2024 8:24 pm
"Gear is important, but not as important as preserving life - I for one am not willing to endanger a nursing mother for personal gain." Leana looks at the others with fervor. "I think, however, while the mom-cube is asleep, we could quickly build something resembling a sieve. By having observed the organisms movement, I reckon - if we put a sieve through gently, the objects will come out without hurting the host." The druid looks around for material to build something like the kitchenware she has in mind. "If we can't manage, I guess a stick would do fine..."
OOC:

After some brainstorming, they put together an inventive plan using spare cell bars from the dungeon and a few bones. Brickowski and Leana build a giant sieve—its bars wide enough to strain the cube and rid it of any interesting objects.
They stand before the gelatinous thing, its contents suspended in thick, wobbling goo. With the appropriate sobriety, Brickowsky stands on his toes and lifts their makeshift sieve of cell bars and bones. "Well" he exclaims "this situations is about to get strained."

Leana helps him position the contraption and raises an eyebrow at her friend. She hesitates for a moment, then they plunge the sieve into the cube, the slimy mass oozing through the bars as they sift for hidden loot. The druid tries to make sure the creature is not being harmed or even disturbed too much. Slowly, objects begin to emerge—rusty things, silver things, and a few sparkling ones.

Leana and Brickowski make sure to get all the loot and bring it to their friends. Oddly enough, the cube does not seem to have noticed.

The adult gelatinous cube shimmers a little, one would almost think it is happy to have items it no longer wants removed, and stills again. Leana and Brickowsky take the loot over to the others and lay out what they were able to salvage. Many rusty, half-dissolved items are discarded to the side for now and only the items that may still be useful are laid out to dry.

- Glowing yellow gemstone, Brickowsky can already tell it is a topaz
- Alax's silvered frying pan, he moves over and picks it up exclaiming "Thank you so much! I wouldn't be able to make my chicken wing croquettes without this!"
- Skull
- Iron censer attached to a solid wooden handle with an iron chain (could be used as a flail), it sparkles a little with something else
- Shortbow, sparkling a little with something else

Brickowsky and Leana continue to work together to puzzle out what has been salvaged from the cube and found in the dungeon. With renewed vigor, Brickowsky identifies all but one item.

The frosty staff is clearly a Staff of Frost that can project a cone of cold energy (5 charges), or a fog cloud (1 charge), or create an ice storm (4 charges), or a wall of ice (4 charges). In total, the staff has 10 charges and will not renew again until the next day's dew. It also gives the wielder resistance to cold damage.

The topaz, now looked at more closely, only glows because it has a Continual Light spell cast upon it. Perhaps someone had enchanted it before being consumed or captured?

The skull is nothing special on its own, but clearly belonged to the headless skeleton they had first encountered in the dungeon, the one that held the scimitar so tightly in its death grasp.

The iron censer is a Devotee's Censer that can be used as a flail and a holy symbol. It can cause extra 1d8 radiant damage with its hits and, as a bonus action, speak a command word to emanate a thin cloud of incense that stretches out to 10 feet for 1 minute. At the start of the wielder's turn during that time, the wielder and any creatures in the cloud regain 1d4 hit points. This bonus action can only be used once until the next day's dawn.

With one final look, the shortbow sparkles a little, but not clear if it's due to the slime it was covered in or something else.

"Of course - take the shield, swordmaiden. And maybe the scimitar? Your hands seem the most capable." False modesty doesn't befit an adventurer, Brickowsky thinks by himself. Life and death don't reward humbleness.

Taking the scroll and the frost staff for himself for the moment, the dwarf knows, that some items will cost time to master. And this ain't neither the place nor the proper moment to do so.

After everybody shifted through their new found loot, the wizard nods thankfully at Leana. As always a invaluable help in this kind of matters. Taking the unclaimed items and placing them back into the bag of holding they had found at the inn, the spellslinger declares: "Let's roll out of here. The day grows long and there is still a mystery to be unraveled."

He turns around and starts waltzing over to the open door.
OOC:
The scimitar is a +2 weapon (to attack and damage) and you can attack with it as a bonus action, while still profiting from the shield.

For the moment still for grabs:
Tome of Clear Thought
Scimitar of Speed (?)
topaz, it has a Continual Light spell cast upon it.
Devotee's Censer
magic short bow

Please feel free to claim something useful for yourself, this is still an one-shot, so selling this stuff doesn't hold any advantage. :D

"Oh, yes. You wouldn't happen to have any wands in that bag of yours? I once heard of one that allowed you to entrap people in vines. That would be handy."
OOC:
Thinking of a wand of entaglement.

Hindle is happy to carry around the skull; he'll look for a sack to use to "turn it off".

Alax looks contemplative for a moment, then digs into the bigger on the inside bag to take out a dark ash wood wand, wooden vines twist up its sides and encase a small blue gem that glows a little at the end.

"Hum, not sure if this does what you are looking for, but it sure looks like it with those vines on the handle. Be careful as the guy who sold it to me said it will crumble to ash if used too often. It's definitely magic so it is 400 gold..."

Alax then turns to the group before they leave.

"So, what would you all like in exchange for my silvered frying pan? I can also exchange an additional magic item for that gem or the censer..."

Reaching for the wand as Alax holds it forward, Hindle pauses at the thought of it crumbling to ash before taking it gingerly to hand. "Thank you, that is excellent." Rummaging around in his pack, Hindle pulls out a rather heavy bag pulled tight about itself. It takes him a few minutes to count out the 400 gold which he gives over to Alax before stashing the now much less weighty bag back into his pack. After donning it again and shifing around on his shoulders, he says, "Yes, that's much more comfortable."

Tucking the wand in his robe, he picks up th the large glowing skull, and joking ly holds it in front of his face, "Woooooohoooo! Ooooohhhoo...ack! Too bright!" Blinking away tears, he stashes it under his cloak for a moment to retreive a sack to dump the skull into.

As Alax finishes the transaction with Hindle, Derv looks at Leana.

"I'll stay here in case anything tries to come through the cubes. Would you like some healing before you go?"

Sounds like we're finishing up the shopping and getting ready for Scene 4. Please make sure everybody is Level 6 before we move on!

I'd like the moon sickle and enough healing potion to regain the lost hp, if possible :)
I'll level up tomorrow asap :)

Now I found what I've been looking for: Arcane Grimoire +1/+2/ or +3 *G*

Does Ajax have one? I would take the wand & the grimoire if possibl. If not, I would prefer the grimoire. Sorry for the last minute change.

As Firina enters the other room and looks around, Alax fishes out one last item from the endless pockets.

"Hmm, if you don't want that spider wand, I have this old leather book I found while cleaning Inn Plain Sight up. They are 400 gold each...."

A leather-bound grimoire with a big "+1" on the cover is placed before Brickowsky.

The dragonborn swings around the silvered frying pan and recounts what is for sale.

"Hrm, Hindle here has already paid for and obtained this wand of entangle. It looks like Leana wants the moon sickle and Brickowsky here would like the wand of the war mage and arcane grimoire. Each are 400 gold. I also have 5 health potions for 200 gold. I can give one of these items as thanks for getting my silvered frying pan. You can also trade that glowing topaz for another magic item..."

Derv heals Leana before she leaves and then sits by the skeleton, meditating.
