With Rangrim standing by the door to the room anyware in the room will be covered by his healing prayer.
Alex while searching the wardrobe, you find nothing it’s empty. The nightstands have a few blank pieces of paper inside and the bed sheets and blanket are a bit thread bare. The model of Lightning Keep that rest on top of the left nightstand is well-made and painted with care. You see a toothpick size lightning rod mounted on one corner of its roof.
Healed Kurt thanks healer Rangrim, "Thanks. That shadow took a lot out of me." Kurt is mostly healed but not completely (-5 HP).
Considering the world of magic, Kurt sees if the dear tiny toothpick size lightning rod comes off the display other than possibly indicating where to get another one at. "Interesting."
Fully healed Kurt, "That was a bit of a surprise but a good one. Cleaver place to hide one. Best we take a break here. I know that I need a breather after that hard battle."
A short rest would be simple enough. It will take you one hour. Just let me know where you want to take it and what if anything you are doing during it.
Alex will eat and rest for the hour and at the end of the short rest he will use Arcane recovery to regain a first level spell slot.
[ +- ] Arcane Recovery
You have learned to regain some of your magical energy by studying your spellbook. Once per day when you finish a short rest, you can choose expended spell slots to recover. The spell slots can have a combined level that is equal to or less than half your wizard level (rounded up), and none of the slots can be 6th level or higher.
For example, if you're a 4th-level wizard, you can recover up to two levels worth of spell slots. You can recover either a 2nd-level spell slot or two 1st-level spell slots.
Your rest passes without incident. The only sounds you can hear are your own voices and the storm outside occasionally rumbling thunder through the dining room.
