Within Lighting Keep

Grim will walk over and turn the chest over and check through its contents

Kurt the coat stand is empty.

Rangrim the chest was mostly emptied before the keep was abandoned, but you find a secret compartment in its lid. This compartment contains a wooden scroll tube, inside which is a scrap of paper with the following words written on it in Common:

Wooden lance, Moonlight dance, Model keep, Cistern deep, Below the shield, By chains concealed

Alex will join the others at the in the small room, "What did you find here?"

Grim will read the rhyme aloud then hand the paper to Alex so he can study it.

"I'm no expert in such things, but it seems a few of those lines refer to places we've found lightning rods, does it not?"

"I too. Take that meaning. Perhaps the last one or two lightning rods is hidden below, and this is a clue to where they may be."

Alex studies the paper for a moment, "I concur. It appears to be exactly what we need." He stops for a moment longer. "Then we best be on our guard, and keep an eye out for access to a sewer and the dungeons." He handed the paper back to Grim. "We should possibly rest up before venturing below. I would imagine more undead and possibly traps stand in our way."

"If you wish to rest I will stand guard."

"Does anyone have anything with them that can work on that locked door. I like to go there next."

"Can you force it open Kurt? It is strange that it is locked. Maybe the key we found for the outside will work on this one also."

"I could try to force it but I would hope for an easier solution. Like to do the least damage possible to this place."

"Who has the key? Maybe we should try it."

"I believe I have the key. You are welcome to try it."

Grim will take the key "Worth a try." he try it in the lock.

Ramgrim takes the key and turns it in the lock and the door swings open. The battlements to the West and some stairs leading down into the courtyard are revealed. The storm rages on.

Alex will start to the battlements, "Unless we are stopping to rest for more than an hour, we should keep moving."

"Don't know about the rest of you but I'm good for some more exploring."

"Yes, let us continue."

"I am ready."

From where you all stand you can see that if you go down the stairs, you will be down in the Courtyard again. If you follow the battlements you can trace them all the way around to the front gatehouse.
