@savagebob - I'm sorry, I missed the plus one success on top of the plus one Advantage you rolled, which you passed on to AD-hoc as information he could use as a boost. That success would have lowered the difficulty by 1, so AD-hoc's roll would have had 2 additional Advantage. All together an amazing team effort.

@Mephistophilis - Under AD-hoc's direction Ken does get to cut a few spots on the lock which speeds up the whole process.

@crazybirdman - you also scored a Triumph - So there's a Narrative bonus you can throw in as you describe the process by which AD-hoc and team carefully disabled this lock leaving it in perfect condition should they need it later.

@ChrSch - Roll Survival against an average difficulty please. I assume you were on Lookout while they were working on the lock. That would be 3 green, 1 yellow and 2 purple.

I like the idea of the triumph meaning the door and lick are still fully functional. And ken's help didn't damage anything, lol. Can I also make a remote control for the door? I can use the 'Utility Belt' ability for that if need be.
With Ken's help on the cutter, and AD-hoc using his own internal tools, they are able to get the lock removed, the door open, and the lock put back together in a short amount of time.

fair assumption. Haha

Rolls

Survival

5 Success, 1 Triumph, 2 Failure

Total: 3 Success, 1 Triumph

and put back together :) I like it. As for the remote, you'd have to restore power for that to work. But it's still possible.
The lock now sits 'unlocked' and the door is open about a quarter meter. Without power it will take some effort to ease it open. While opening the lock, the door didn't appear stuck, it's just a lot of mass to move.

Zailor, meanwhile, has spotted a several hundred kilogram creature, at least a meter high at the hips and probably two and a half meters long. It is being trailed by two smaller versions of itself. Though the specific creature is unknown, the traits imply omnivorous, aggressive, female with cubs. It appears to be zig zagging toward the group, possibly following your scent.
OOC:
@ChrSch - In this version of Star Wars, the Triumph is a success and it means something extra can happen related to the roll you made. You get to pick something that makes sense in the context. i.e. - AD-hoc used his on his Mechanical check to keep the lock working after opening it. You can find the examples from the book here. Ken's face is lit up by the orange glow of the fusion cutter, slicing through the lock alloy like a hot knife through butter - sparks flying. His snout shows as wide a grin as its possible for a Rodian to display. 'Oh yeah!'

hi sorry for the delay. I won't have time before tomorrow afternoon to properly reply.

Zailor doesn’t raise his voice, but it carries. "Heads up. We’ve got a few hundred kilos of bad attitude heading our way. Big momma and two little ones."

He watches the way she moves—zigzagging, tail flicking.

"She’s not attacking. That’s posturing. Territory stuff."

He then adds

"Basically, she wants us gone, not dead. Let’s try to keep it that way. No sudden moves, no heroic stares. And definitely don’t look at the cubs. We might not have to fight her."
OOC:
like this or was that too much?

Creds keeps his bulbous eyes trained on Zailor as he slowly moves toward the doorway. "Not gonna look at Mama or the whippersnappers. Glad you know how to speak critter, Zailor."
OOC:
Edited to indicate that the door isn't open yet.

Right on the money, my plan was that she was sensing possibly an easy meal to teach the basics of killing to the cubs. But the Triumph gives the players the power to make small changes like that - So you saw it as territorial and now it is :)

Next Question: Do you try and slide sideways along the mountain away from here or try to open the door enough to slip in.

If your slipping away, everyone will need to make stealth or survival role.
If your opening the door to go inside, we need 1 Athletics check Hard (3 Purple) with help and any boosts you can come up with.
May 22, 2025 10:32 pm
OOC:
I'm guessing that question is aimed at the whole group, right?
My vote would be opening the door.
Boosts are reasons we as players can come up with why a certain situation should be easier for us?
May 23, 2025 1:12 pm
OOC:
Yep, that was a group question.
Boost dice do come from either having a skill or talent or piece of gear or saying "I'll help do the thing". It adds one Boost die (the blue one) to the main roll. Setbacks are the opposite, that would be things I throw at you that makes something harder. They are the Black die. Some Talents will say 'remove one setback per level of the talent'.

OOC:
i vote open the door. I dont think i have anything that would add a boost. If only we had a jar of bacon grease, lol
May 23, 2025 5:44 pm
Creds looks at the hulking door and gives it a tentative push. "How many of us can help shove that door out the way?"
OOC:
Yep, I vote Zailor makes the roll -- assuming he's our bulkiest member -- with boosts from as many of us as can reasonably assist. From Creds, it would be unskilled assistance, as he has no ranks in Athletics.
May 24, 2025 11:17 pm
OOC:
I don't think Zailor has any athletics either. Haha.
Would a droid not be stronger? Aside from lacking the athletics skill I don't know if that would make a difference.
May 24, 2025 11:54 pm
OOC:
AD-hoc's brawn is 3, but he has ranks in athletics. If someone else did have ranks in Athletics, they could work together to open the door ( and have a 'better' dice pool
May 25, 2025 11:05 am
OOC:
Ken's weedy too - Brawn 2, no Athletics
May 25, 2025 1:01 pm
OOC:
None of us has Athletics, then. Looks like Zailor's Brawn is 2, so looks like we're rolling GGGBB v. PPP (3 Green, 2 Blue, 3 Purple). AD-HOC is providing the muscle power, so crazybirdman should make the roll. :)

@crazybirdman - Ok it's on you, The door is big enough that everyone can grab something. You only need to move it half a meter for everyone to slip through. So it's AD-hoc to roll with 3 Boost from the team.
May 25, 2025 6:44 pm
"Alright everyone, on three . . . " AD-hoc says as he counts, and throws his might into opening the door.

Rolls

Athletics everyone helping

3 Success, 3 Advantage, 3 Threat

Total: 3 Success

You all grunt and shove and the door slides, easier than expected just over half a meter open. There's an interested grunt from the approaching creatures, as you slip, one by one, out of sight.

Vast darkness is your first thought, the sliver of light streaming into the interior does nothing to reveal what you've entered. Except for Ken, his goggles reveal your in some sort of hangar or garage. The walls extend over 50 meters left and right, the ceiling is almost twenty meters high. The depth of the tunnel is further than even Ken's goggles can illuminate. To your left, near the far wall are a row of, possibly, vehicles.
