Let's take Q&A and mechanical stuff out of game thread.
1. You can buy Set of Traveler's Clothes for 2 gp: boots, a wool skirt or breeches, a sturdy belt, a shirt (perhaps with a vest or jacket), and an ample cloak with a hood.
But I can homebrew Jungle Traveler's Clothes (light) for you at cost 1 gp instead.
@Azule86 please decide if you spend 1gp or 2gp and makr it off your balance adding either Traveler's Clothes or "Junge Traveler's Clothes" to your character. I will narrate the rest later when all players had posted
2. Info: due to exhaustion your PCs have Disadvantage on ability checks until after 2 long rests. But I don't need persuasion or any other check from Tonby at the moment, so you don't need to fix the roll.
Expand details below to learn how/when I will need players to roll - it may be a bit different from what you are used to
DM calls for an ability check when a character or monster attempts an action (other than an attack) that has a chance of failure. When the outcome is uncertain, the dice determine the results.
As a DM I prefer player actions to influence story more than a dice does. I will only consult with virtual dice roll before I narrate your action result if I can't decide weather your PC would be skilled enough to accomplish what you desire to accomplish.
More over I will only look at a dice if I can come up with an interesting failure. For example the only failure talking to merchant who is motivated to sell you the clothes is if you choose wrong merchant - the one that don't know anything important to share. And that is an insight check instead. Nevertheless in this particular case I think all merchants on the marketplace share the same gossips/general knowledge and unless you have a very specific topic to discuss there are no Insight required.
