"Goodbye Gregory RIP." Looks to the others"Do you think he will comeback because of the curse."

Clarence shakes his head. "If only he had worked out and gained more muscle mass he wouldn't have been blown off so easily. No wind will take me out!" "The Body" flexes his heavily muscled physique before crossing the footbridge. Sadly while the wind didn't get Clarence, the slippery stone bridge did, and he slides over the edge. He crashes onto the raven's roof below. He is unresponsive, eyes closed, but luckily his large body gets wedged between roof and wall and stops his slide into the mists of oblivion below. The raven tilts its head, stretches it out of its nest, and plucks up Clarence's unconscious body and drags him into the nest.
OOC:
Clarence is down from fall damage but protected in the raven's nest. Still need rolls from @matmaisan,@Redcroc

Varos says:
"Do you think he will comeback because of the curse."
"I hope not. Let him rest in peace." - the Goblin turns around - "Can you heal me, Anton? Ever since we teleported, I am very tired and hurt. I was leaving that to deal with later, but Gregory's demise made me think more about the present. Carpe Diem."

htech says:
"Can you heal me, Anton?"
OOC:
Anton is on the other side of the bridge since Frac made his roll and crossed already but Anton hasn't yet.

OOC:
Fair enough. I am waiting anxiosly then.

Varos yells across "Try crawling you will be more stable!!"

Nervous because of the wind and rain, Tibor hesitates. He digs down deep to find the courage to try and cross the foot bridge, telling himself not to be a coward and ignore the disappearance of several companions. His body resists in terror as he looks at Anton with wild eyes. But at Varos' words, something finally gives and he gets down on all fours and begins slowly crawling across.
OOC:
Oof. This bridge is decimating the party LOL
OOC:
Good bye cruel world T_T

The cruel irony is that Varos' words are true and Tibor finds the way easier on all fours. But that doesn't help him when he gets to the far end and goes to stand up, only to have his feet slip out from under him. He slides down the slippery slate tiles and off over the edge. The peaked roof is just out of reach and sails past Tibor's desperate outstretched hands. He vanishes from view in the mists below.
OOC:
Lol the bridge boss might be the hardest in the adventure!

"Well this was very unfortunate. At least we might be able to reach Clarence and help him."
Oct 18, 2024 1:29 pm
"I'm not coming across!" the young priest screamed from within the tower. The disappearance of two companions in such a short time had paralyzed the young man. He was now persuaded that a breeze from hell had just taken Gregory and Tibor. He was convinced the same fate awaited him if he attempted the crossing.
OOC:
Is Clarence the one holding on to the golden candelabra and the gold and ruby flower? If he falls, we're all out of gold to pay the raven, correct?

The odds of Anton making it across are slim, given his -2 penalty in dex. I mean, if the goal is for all characters to be in the same room, then I'll go, and use my luck if needed. But if I'm putting myself in Anton's shoes, there's no way he's doing the crossing. He's pooping his pants, right now.

Question for the DM : can we only hold one luck token at a time? Or are we using the pulpier rules that allow multiple tokens?
Oct 18, 2024 3:20 pm
OOC:
Just 1 luck token. Someone should still have the grappling hook made from items found in the torture chamber that could help Anton cross. Or Anton can descend the tower and find another way to the other tower from inside the castle. Yes, Clarence did have those items and he is currently unconscious and captured by the raven in the nest.
Oct 18, 2024 8:32 pm
Frac gives the hook and rope to Varos.

"I am not strong or agile enough to throw it."
Oct 19, 2024 10:46 am
"If you send the hook over, I might attempt the crossing. Though I think I ought to tend to Clarence's wounds first!" he exclaimed, still terrified at the prospect of going across.
Oct 19, 2024 12:13 pm
OOC:
Clarence is out of the picture for the time being as he's 30 feet below and in the nest of the raven lol.
Oct 19, 2024 4:58 pm
Varos will tie the rope to the hook and toss it over to Anton. After Aton secures the hook Varos will secure the other end.
Oct 20, 2024 1:54 am
Anton crosses with no problem, secured from slipping or being blown over the edge by the stout rope. Finally, you are (somewhat) regrouped, dripping wet and chilled by the gusting wind, hair plastered to your faces. A door stands before you, unlocked and untrapped. Pushing it open reveals a room of relative warmth and comfort.

Stepping through the doorway reveals a room full of large rugs and plush chairs, making a warm lounge room out of an otherwise cold stone tower. A large grandfather clock ticks on the far end of the room reading 10:20.

Next to the clock is a portrait of the Count. It is hyper-realistic and seems to be looking directly at you. A nearby wooden standing table has two pots of paint and a paintbrush lying on it.

On the wall next to the doorway you enter are tall opened window panes. A folded piece of sits on the window sill getting wet from the rain. Outside the window you see the peaked rooftop with the large bird's nest on it maybe 30 feet below.

A set of stairs lead both upwards and downwards. Above you can hear a dull rhythmic pulsing. Below you hear echoes of classical music.

Just then, Frac's light spell expires and his impromptu staff darkens. Luckily, a lit oil lamp sits on a small reading table next to a chair nearby granting some light. For now.

Heart thumping wildly after the perilous crossing and the demise of his two companions, Anton examined the place with wild eyes and bated breath.

Seeing the folded object getting wet, Anton reflexively moves to recover it.
OOC:
There is a folded piece of paper on the window sill? Up is where we’ll find the stone that beats and the remaining bit of the sword, I presume… down, more illusions.

Regarding the light spell: is the DC still 11, or is it affected by the stress level?
Oct 20, 2024 7:34 am
OOC:
Yes to the folded paper, and yes all DCs are equal to the stress level.
Oct 20, 2024 7:36 am
Anton will pick up the folded sheet of paper and bring it carefully next to the lamp, before unfolding and studying it.
Oct 20, 2024 7:57 am
Anton is shocked to see the letter is familiar. It is a love letter he wrote but never sent.
OOC:
Anton has discovered a Trinket. What does the love letter say? Who is it to? Why did Anton never send it? Also gain 1d6 trinket hit die and add the result to current and max hp.
