Tryne saw the swarm of creatures close on Meepo as chaos burst from the sky. With a quick whistle Tryne summoned Talon to his side as he pointed his multi tool at one of the flying creatures. A bolt of fire joined the other blasts aimed at the sky.

The kobold turns his broom sharply downward and streaks toward the ground and away from the glitter bomb of imps that are charging at him. A bolt of energy flashes past Meepo, striking one of his pursuers. Glowing red dust puffs out from the creature. He weaves through two bolts of lightning from his warforged companion and two of them explode violently into balls of dust.

Vice and Laulalith call out and three of the foul creatures fall unconscious, plummeting into the alcove below. Adding to the chaos surrounding the fleeing Meepo, Tryne launches a streak of fire into the hoard. One of the imps is also hurt, but stays aloft.

As Meepo touches down safely, the three dozy creatures hit the ground, surrounding the kobold. These also exploding on impact enveloping Meepo. The kobold’s mask blocks the flying dust, but he gets the feeling, he would not want their corpses in his eyes.

Having watched five of their comrades turned to dust and two more injured, the remaining impish dustballs, flee back over the ridge and out of sight. Their hoarse shrieks fading into the distance. Quiet returns to the area, save the Grey’s whispers.

"That was unexpected," 37 observes as he watches the little things fly off. "But I believe we should make to leave now."
Jan 14, 2025 4:04 am
"Agreed!" Vice says as he rushes over to make sure Meepo is ok. "That was a tremendous bit of flying up there. You ever considered becoming an acrobat?" he ask, while stepping lightly, hoping is is only treading on actual dust and not dead imp dust.
OOC:
is the stuff on top of the carts covered? Or should we be ready to cast an illusion on it?

OOC:
You would have been able to find any materials, empty crates, etc. you wanted to pack up and conceal the armour. I assumed you wouldn’t want it exposed.
Jan 14, 2025 2:57 pm
Torhak kept weapon in hand just in case, "Yes, before they return" he said to 37's suggestion of leaving.

Meepo blushes wildly but although the mask hides his face his body movement reveal it all. "ahh thanks! Meepo never thought about being an acrobat. I just learned air maneuvers from a wizard I used to adventure with. he says while staring down at the grown and kicking a pebble near him.
OOC:
is the armor on the cart larger than a 5 foot cube?

OOC:
It’s smaller than a five foot cube.

Looking at Vice's turning his gaze upon the cart and all the gear on it.

whatcha thinking? Meepo tilts his head as he asks Vice.

Meepo looks back over at the cart "oh yeah that hmm." With that Meepo casts minor illusion on the cart to make the cart look like it is filled with scrapper junk. Sheets of metal, chairs, tires etc. thinks that would not move in the wind like cloth. Things that Meepo would think it might get some money for but not enough to risk someones life to steal.

I can only do this for a minute but if others can do it also we can have the same illusion up and do not worry about it disappearing in between casts

Vice smiles as he was thinking of doing the same thing. "Looks great Meepo! I mean terrible, well, you know what I mean. But maybe we can wait until we get back to town to cast the illusion. Or if we see anyone else out and about on our way back to Salvation."

A cascade of dust and loose pebbles accompanies Laulalith as she carefully makes her way down from the ledge. Safely back on the ground, she murmurs a few words and makes a sweeping motion with her hand that causes dust and stains to vanish from her garments, so they once again appear pristine. "I agree, let's get out of here before the flying dust bunnies come back."

Laulalith smiles to Meepo in recognition of his efforts. "I too have some skill with illusions, but I would prefer to rest while we make our way back to town. I don't think we need to keep up a disguise for the entire journey, but we could put it in place when we approach civilisation." She sighs, and spends a moment day-dreaming about the hot food and warm bath that awaits her in Salvation. "Also, we should not underestimate the value of an unmarked box as a disguise."

She looks back at the warehouse entrance, eager to see how the ghosts behave when the cart moves out.

Once the cart is pulled free of the facility, 37 will move to shut and resecure the large doors before everyone loads up in the carriage to leave.

oh ok. It was just a thought in case someone sees us before we see them. Never know when someone is watching after all Meepo notes prior to entering the cart. He pops his head out of the carriage and waves to the two ghosts!

good bye! Adios! See y'all in the afterlife!!

and then returning inside the carriage and sitting in the same seat as before.
OOC:
Meepo is all ready to move out

As the others prepare to leave, Tryne starts up the coach and eases it slowly out of the warehouse. Once clear of the doors, he stops and waits for everyone to board before starting forward again.

Klause & The Professor

Klause & The Professor
The Professor sets himself up at the entrance to the warehouse and watches with rapt attention as the group fends off the dusty creatures. "Well, that was something not seen every day.", he comments. Klause moves up to join the Professor, looking out the doors with caution.

Tryne rolls the carriage out into the open. If spirits could breathe, the group would likely have seen the Professor hold his breath as he reaches out. His hand passes through the entrance way. With a grin, he floats out into the grey light of the morning. Klause hesitates, but then follows his companion out. The Professor lets out a a high pitched cackle, "Finally!", he declares, before taking off toward the sky. He makes it about fifty feet, before he violently stops mid-air as though he is tethered by leash. Klause is yanked in his direction. The Professor looks back to see the other spirit, straightening up.

"Oi! What gives?", Klause asks, confused.

"No... No! No no no no NO!", the Professor laments. He pauses for a moment, before calmly asking, "Klause, do be so kind as to come here."

"Of course, Professor.", the ditzy cohort floats upward and the Professor is able to continue floating away.

"You were MY guard the whole time?"

"Oh, I suppose, I was..."

The artificer spirit flashes white in anger, before turning to the group below the ghostly duo, "Good riddance you pilfering pirates!", the Professor calls out to the group, "Tell that orc that if I ever make it out of this place, I will find him!", he then takes off again, yelling to Klause, "Follow me, you bumbling imbecile! Let us leave these plunderers!", Klause reluctantly agrees.

"I guess, he still needs guarding.", he says sheepishly and begins to follow the Professor. "Goodbye Mmmmeepo! Thank you for showing a ghost some manners! Thank you for getting us out!", Klause waves happily to everyone as the two disappear over the top of the cliff and deeper into the Mournland. The group can hear them continue to bicker as their voices fade.

"Where are we going?"
"My real lab, dimwit!"

With that, the Guardians of Salvation are left alone with their salvaged goods from the warehouse.
Jan 14, 2025 10:44 pm
Vice walks toward the cart to enter as the ghosts leave "Oh, poor Klause. Forever tethered . . Ah well, perhaps they'll have many adventures together." Vice's expression turns from sad to angry. "Bah, 'Pirates'? This is a cart, not a boat. He should meet our friendly skyship. If she was up and running, then we could be proper pirates. Wait, did he say 'real lab'?" Then he shrugs and gets inside the cart.
Jan 15, 2025 1:10 pm
The driver of the coach eased it to a stop and watched the ghosts float away. At Vice's comment - "I think he did. You think he was caught here on the day of the incident, but perhaps had another lab? The armor is here though... so he definitely was doing something."

He looked in the direction where the ghosts were floating away. "Well, we got a job to finish, but that might be an interesting bit to tell your broker. Could be a future job if there are any records of where that might be."
Jan 15, 2025 4:00 pm
"Or possibly a self hired job for us to go and see if there is anything we want there." Meepo looks to Vice "but not really sure how things work here. You said everything that comes out of here has to be ran through someone right? That they take first dibs."
Jan 15, 2025 5:33 pm
Vice's eyes glaze over as he tries to recount the details that were told to him. "Belaluur mentioned something about nobles having fist choice of everything. Although that might have been just a negotiating tactic, I admit I'm not a savvy businessman."
Jan 15, 2025 11:13 pm
37 closes and locks the large doors to the warehouse, then joins the rest of the group in the elemental cart. Tryne feels the energy flowing through his hand as he lights up the elemental within. Feeling far more confident and sensing much less resistance, he begins to depart the alcove. Tryne does notice the cart is feeling a little sluggish from the added weight being carried and towed in the wagon, but the half-elf makes good time through the gully and back to the derelict lightning rail tracks.

After the events of the morning, the quiet of the return trip's first leg is welcomed. Turning west, Tryne begins to make his way back to Salvation.
OOC:
Could I get a group perception check? You're all very vigilant, feel free to add any Guidance, etc.
