Klause & The Professor
The Professor sets himself up at the entrance to the warehouse and watches with rapt attention as the group fends off the dusty creatures.
"Well, that was something not seen every day.", he comments. Klause moves up to join the Professor, looking out the doors with caution.
Tryne rolls the carriage out into the open. If spirits could breathe, the group would likely have seen the Professor hold his breath as he reaches out. His hand passes through the entrance way. With a grin, he floats out into the grey light of the morning. Klause hesitates, but then follows his companion out. The Professor lets out a a high pitched cackle,
"Finally!", he declares, before taking off toward the sky. He makes it about fifty feet, before he violently stops mid-air as though he is tethered by leash. Klause is yanked in his direction. The Professor looks back to see the other spirit, straightening up.
"Oi! What gives?", Klause asks, confused.
"No... No! No no no no NO!", the Professor laments. He pauses for a moment, before calmly asking,
"Klause, do be so kind as to come here."
"Of course, Professor.", the ditzy cohort floats upward and the Professor is able to continue floating away.
"You were MY guard the whole time?"
"Oh, I suppose, I was..."
The artificer spirit flashes white in anger, before turning to the group below the ghostly duo,
"Good riddance you pilfering pirates!", the Professor calls out to the group,
"Tell that orc that if I ever make it out of this place, I will find him!", he then takes off again, yelling to Klause,
"Follow me, you bumbling imbecile! Let us leave these plunderers!", Klause reluctantly agrees.
"I guess, he still needs guarding.", he says sheepishly and begins to follow the Professor.
"Goodbye Mmmmeepo! Thank you for showing a ghost some manners! Thank you for getting us out!", Klause waves happily to everyone as the two disappear over the top of the cliff and deeper into the Mournland. The group can hear them continue to bicker as their voices fade.
"Where are we going?"
"My real lab, dimwit!"
With that, the Guardians of Salvation are left alone with their salvaged goods from the warehouse.
