Chapter 6: Calamity Caves

Haitith climbs the side of the ledge as if it was a ladder, and in moments he come up on top, to see the ledge lead into a small secluded cave, that couldn't be seen from the ground. Inside the cave, he can see a female halfling standing there with a crossbow aimed at the eidolon. "Stand back beast! What are you doing here!? Are you one of Venexus' spawn!?"

Hearing the voice of a fellow halfling, Artesia calls out. "We're friends! Come down and meet everyone!"

Haitith quickly maneuvers into a coiled position, hesitant but ready for the halfling to strike at him. The Eidolon calls down, "It's a small thing, like Artesia! It has a weapon pointed at me - Koram, say the word and I'll blast it!"

"No!" Koram calls up, then louder, "We mean no harm, and have no clue who this Venexus is!"

Strange Woman

"Fools," the woman says in a loud whisper, barely audible at the bottom. "Keep your voices down! They'll hear you!"

As she says so, you hear a grating roar from the south. Three stony creatures are flying towards you from one of the southern ledges.

OOC:

Roll Initiative. Those who beats the highest monster Init of 30 may act immediately.

The enemies are 70 feet away from Tomas' position

"If I’m killed by your incompetence I’ll come back and haunt you from here to eternity!" the woman complains as she strides forward until she has one of the flying creatures in her aim. Once next to Haitith she fires a crossbow bolt at one of the flying creatures.

Then one of the creatures rushes forward and bites into Tomas’ shoulder (16 piercing damage).

The gargoyle that the strange woman shot at flies forward and lands next to her and Haitith. She yelps in pain as it bites her in the forearm.

Tomas fills with fury. Antlers manifest and he thrashes them around.

The creature roars in pain as Artesia’s divine lance pierces him. In its rage, it doesn’t notice Tomas striking him with his antlers. Though by the time Tomas is ready to strike a second time it is ready and parries the blow.

The last creature rushes past Iroven, opening himself open to an attack from the exprienced fighter. With Iroven flanked, the creature returns the favor and bites him with a devastating attack (20 damage)

OOC:

Koram is up to finish the round. And Iroven can make an Attack of Opportunity if he'd like.

"Alright, Haitith, we have trouble! Let's show them what we've got!" Koram weaves a spell into being, boosting Haitith's prowess, then commanding his companion to attack and defend the stranger above them on the ledge. "Now, Haitith! Strike now!"

The Eidolon follows Koram's commands, lashing at the gargoyle with his teeth, then smacking at it with his tail.

OOC:

Free: Extend Boost (Arcana - if successful, Boost Eidolon is extended)
Action 1: Boost Eidolon
Action 2: Act Together (Koram Uses One For All - Prepped to aid Haitith), Haitith Strikes
Reaction: Aid (Rolling Diplomacy to Aid, +1-2 on Haitith's attack above if successful)

Haitih strikes twice and both attacks connect with the stony creature.

The woman calls out to Haitith. "Hit ‘em in the joints!"

She then drops her crossbow and draws a shortsword before slashing at the creature, but it bounces off its stony skin.

One of the creatures flaps its wings to stay afloat as it first bites, then scratches at Iroven. He dodges out of the way of the first blow, and parries the second.

OOC:

The woman uses an ability that gives all of you +1 status bonus to attack and damage rolls to hit the green gargoyle.

Iroven is up.

After dodging and parrying the blows from the flying creatures, he carefully stepped to the side of Tomas and then swung his sword at the injured one.

OOC:

Is the right side of Tomas difficult terrain? If so, Iroven will move towards the left side and attack the blue. 1st action: Step, 2nd and 3rd action: vicious strike. Spending hero point to reroll.

If Koram's Aid check was successful, that would make his first attack roll 31 (32 if Aid was a crit). Does that make Koram's first attack a crit?
