"Wha-!?" Koram turns and spots the enemy, now poised to strike from his flank. He throws his hands up and whispers an arcane incantation - a moment later a large, bipedal creature appears between him and the enemy, as much like the creature that attacked them in the pass several nights back as he can remember. He then moves as far away from the repositioned danger as he can.
OOC:
Actions 1&2: Cast Spell - Figment, +2 Create a Diversion
Action 3: Stride (south, 25ft near Iroven)

I guess with Create a Diversion he has to 'sneak'. He will attempt to do that for his Action 3 instead, moving only 10ft away.

Iroven runs after the creature, despite the creature now being a bipedal, he can’t trip it up.

But it leaves him open to a furious charge from Tomas who gets his antlers into its shoulder.

Artesia sends a spell at the creature, but it bounces off it harmlessly. You don’t know what it is, but at least you know it's not undead.

For a moment another creature appears on the field of battle, though obviously an illusion, it is distracting enough that the creature loses sight of Koram.

It screams in pain and anger as it tries to jump into the last smilodon carcass. Once again he opens himself to an opportune attack from Iroven. Then it steps closer to Iroven and Tomas, ready to fight them in his new carcass shield.
OOC:
The Wear Pelt ability has the manipulate trait, so it is eligble for an Opportune Attack from Iroven and then you may all act.

Jan 6, 2025 11:20 am
OOC:
It provides cover. It's a flowstone curtain

The abominable creature tried to meld with the fallen Smilodon, and Iroven tried to stop it with a reflexive swing of his sword. He then followed up a swing from the blindside of the creature, forcing it to focus more on its defense. Twisting up, he followed with an arcing slice to hit the creature with vicious force.
OOC:
First action: Feint
Second and third action: Vicious strike

Fudgenuts! Artesia thinks. Why won't the thing fall? She decides to resort to a more basic attack and tries again with a divine lance (good energy).

Iroven hits with his opportune attack. He tries to trick the creature, but it is on to him and it backfires, leaving Iroven open to a counter attack. Though it don’t matter, as Iroven’s follow up strike is hard enough to get through its defenses.

Tomas raises his shield and attempts a couple of strikes, but isn’t able to pierce its defenses.

Artesia is able to send a lance of divine energy into it. It seems to bypass not only the hardness of the carcass, but also hurt it more than it should.
OOC:
Iroven, that Deception check was a critical failure, and that means you end up Off-Guard yourself.

Artesia, remember to add your trained proficiency to your attack roll. Should be 6 higher which turns it into a hit.

You can tell it has a weakness to the spirit damage from Divine Lance. It also seems that non-physical damage bypasses the "carcass shield".

Koram is left to act.
Jan 9, 2025 5:07 am
Koram throws his hands out and utters the arcane words to send a trio of bolts made of force energy at the enemy.

The three missiles hit into the carcass and much as Artesia’s magical damage, the damage seems to hurt the creature within completely. It bites at Iroven, taking out a chunk of the warrior. Then it swipes a claw at Tomas downing him. He follows up with the other claw at Iroven again, and this time downing another foe.
OOC:
Both Iroven and Tomas is down to dying 1. It’s Artesia’s and Koram’s turn to act. It is, much like you, on its last legs.

Need death saves from Iroven and Tomas.
