Asha was just about to follow Garrett into the hall when she hears the jingle of keys, so instead ducks back into the lavatory. She signals to Jasra and Ane the approach of a guard. She has an uncertain look on her face as to how to proceed.

The tall and burly guard walks right past Garrett and in the door of the loo, where he confronts the other three of you.
OOC:
Think fast

Garrett seeing the guard go into the loo will move quick up behind him while drawing his dagger and try to knock him out with a quick blow to the base of his skull with the pommel.

The guard starts to say something when he sees Asha, Ane, and Jasra. Then he collapses with a floor-trembling thud.

There is a long silent moment. A few breaths.

Then more silence.
OOC:
What now?

Garrett will snag the keys and go look for Ginsing. "You guys tie him up real quick."

Ane is glad of the head-scarf, and even more of the dirty state of what she is wearing. She wouldn't want the guard to have been able to identify them later.

She slips off the guard's belt and ties his hands. "Find an empty cell." She says to Garrett with the keys. "We can let him sleep it off in there."

Jas glances down the corridor checking for more guards, then scampers lightly down the hallway to the right, peeking in each cell and looking for one that seems unoccupied.

The cells are unlit. Peeking through the narrow grated windows reveals nothing of their occupancy, only darkness. Anyone imprisoned here is still, perhaps drowsing. You'll need to call Ginsing's name and get a response to have a hope of finding him.

Garrett will walk the hallway with a loud whisper ""Ginsing, Ginsing."
Jan 28, 2025 5:54 am
Jasra curses the darkness, and begins quietly calling Ginsing's name into each of the door grates, alternately pausing to listen for sounds of any approaching guards.

Asha helps Anemone tie up the guard and drag him towards an empty cell. She re-lights her torch and uses it to peek inside cells to find an empty one or happen upon Ginseng.

"See who else is in there." Ane says to Ahsa, indicating the cells. "Maybe, if they don't look too bad, we let them all out after we have secured Ginseng? Create a distraction? And take some of the heat and suspicion off Ginseng? What do you think?"

She then keeps watch near the corridor entrance for more guards.
OOC:
Would Ginseng be able to leave though our sewer entrance? Or is he too big and we need to find another way out?
If he can get out that way, I say we get him out, then the last of us unlocks the doors for the rest of the prisoners (if they don't look like they will cause too much mayhem (though Ane's concern, there, might not be shared by the others:)).
Jan 29, 2025 6:04 am
"Good idea, Ane! If we only release Ginseng, they'll immediately suspect who's responsible and Big Zhad won't want that," Asha agrees. She sees the value of the distraction as well.

"And, hey, we could make some new friends in the process!" It always good to have connections in the undercity, especially if they owe you a favor.

Each time she shines her torchlight into a cell, she takes a good look to see if she can tell who's inside and assess if they are petty criminals or worse, although she's not sure she would be able tell, which sends a bit of a chill down her spine ...

"I agree, but I say we just let them all loose. The more the merrier." Garrett will keep looking for Ginseng. "I wonder if there is a back door they keep locked?"
