To the audience at large, Aurelia announces with a flourish, "Let the woman be. As my friend here has said, she has every right to enter!" Offering an arm, if she accepts, Aurelia will lead her into the exhibit room.
The servants trip all over themselves to apologize to Delmonia. The other guests give some light applause, while Zachrin nods in appreciation of the stunt and your reactions to it.
A Dance of Masked Devils is a celebration of the unmasking of devils within Ravounelian society, consisting of an eclectic mix of line dancing, whirling dervish, musical chairs, tag, and even chess-like strategies and moves. Each participant dons a wooden devil mask (supplied by Zachrin). As they’re defeated, contestants add their masks to a growing pile in a large cauldron set in the center of the stage. The final dancer standing gets the honor of removing their mask, lighting it on fire, and tossing their burning mask into the cauldron to "send the devils back to the fires of Hell."
For a half hour, guests are invited to mingle and dance on the stage or to gather in the auditorium to watch and chat. The competition takes up the second half hour, with anyone wishing to participate in the competition being assigned a mask and then joining the other competitors on stage.
DANCE WITH A PARTNER CONCENTRATE, EXPLORATION
A PC spends a half hour dancing. If they do so with another PC, or if the PC decides to dance by themselves, no checks are attempted, but no Fete Points can be earned. If a PC chooses to dance with one of the notable NPCs, the PC should attempt a Performance check against their partner’s Will DC to earn Fete Points.
COMPETE IN THE DANCE CONCENTRATE, EXPLORATION
This Fete Activity can only be attempted once during the second half hour. A PC who wishes to compete in the Dance of the Masked Devils attempts three DC 28 Performance checks to accrue Fete Points. Any PC who achieves at least 2 Victory Points places in the final round, while a PC who achieves 4 or more Victory Points wins the competition; if multiple PCs potentially win, the PC with the most Victory Points is the winner. In the event of a tie, the PCs should choose which of them wins. If no PC wins, Elleste Gudgeon wins, and her increased confidence grants her a +2 circumstance bonus to Perception and Will for the rest of the evening.
"What can you tell me about the heavy, bearded servant over there? He was what seemed like overly attentive to my work. I tried to catch his gaze but he looked away," she says in a low voice.
Later, she excuses herself, follows everyone into the main hall, and delightedly enters the dance competition, accepting her mask with glee. She dances like there's no tomorrow, which is always possible in her new line of work, it seems. She dips and bows and turns on her heels, lapping up the attention and loving the act of competing.

Horace
Zachrin chats pleasantly with Horace, asking about the artwork he's putting up for auction tonight and how he's enjoying the party so far. Horace is able to pick up a bit of insight about the priest of Shelyn.
Ramank
Delmonia gives Ramank a self-satisfied grin. "Thank you. I do enjoy giving my uptight colleagues some food for thought. And might I say, that you've got quite the impressive friend here!" She gestures to Yarth. "Hello there, mighty dragon! I'll bet you enjoy shaking up the status quo as much as I do!"
Indeed, Delmonia is quite impressed by Ramank and Yarth.
Aurelia
Aurelia asks around about the bearded servant. Strangely, the other servants and ushers working the fete claim to not have seen him before tonight. The bard glimpses the servant emerging from the kitchens, glancing around suspiciously...

"Oh dear, I need a glass of water right away. I believe something is stuck in my throat!" she says, acting fully the part of a panicked and half-choking woman.
She will attempt to grab the servant's arm and pull him aside.
Zachrin smiles at Bekassine's compliment. He chats with you a bit about the history of the Kintargo Opera House and some of the famous operas that have been hosted here. Horace notes then when he mentions some of Fallenta's previous plays, his eyes light up and he becomes more animated. It would seem that Zachrin is a fan of her work!
Bekassine succeeded at the Discover check so she can choose to either learn which skill that can Influence the NPC has the lowest DC (skipping any skills that you already know) or one of the NPC’s resistances. He only has the one weakness.
Aurelia
The servant's eyes widen as Aurelia grabs his arm. "Oh! Uh, yes, right away, madame," he mumbles, trying to pull away from her. But it's too late, as Aurelia feels not cloth, but coarse fur under her fingers. Realizing something is very wrong, she is able to disbelieve the illusory disguise he has created, seeing him for what he truly is--a creature resembling a bipedal hog with a wide-tusked mouth, bloated belly, and long, bristly tail!

"What are you playing at, skulking about the place? I've been watching you," she hisses malevolently.
"Talk or I'll cut you up for dinner." With that threat, she pulled out her dagger, while ensuring guests weren't observing her movements.
Before any of you can react, he sprints away across the crowded dance floor! The guests who are dancing grunt and cry out in surprise as he shoves past them, slowing him down some. But he is faster than a normal human and is already almost to the exit doors!
