Thank you Devanis, that looks like you knew what you were doing. Zubie says there is no danger down there so far. Let's get this over with. She moves to the edge and waits for acknowledgement to go.
OOC:
should have saved that nat 20 for later!

OOC:
A very quick post tonight as I work early:
Down you go. Be safe down there!

Rolls

Athletics with advantage assuming Erran's aid action if I've got all of those mechanics correct. - (1d20+3, 1d20+3)

1d20+3 : (20) + 3 = 23

1d20+3 : (18) + 3 = 21

Once prepared, the group crawls through the tunnel and makes their way through its many twists and turns until they come to a leveled out portion. It continues on straight for some time before eventually it bends downward and drops into an opening. This opens into a large cavern, illuminated by the blue glow of the luminescent fungi and plant life that grows nearby, or on the surface of standing water. From your perch, you are unable to see all of the sides of this cavern. About 60 feet down, perhaps more, is a massive lake. There is perhaps some film on top of the lake, limiting your view beyond it surface. You do not hear any movement or motion in the cavern, except for the myriad of droplets falling from the ceiling and into the lake, or for the gentle running of water. Ameera is held securely as she descends...
OOC:
Assuming I read your actions right, give me the dreaded Athletics check, XOSkel10. Be sure to roll with advantage. Also lemme know how far down you plan on descending. :)
Jan 9, 2017 11:34 am
Ameera crawls backwards over the rim of the hole, and then allows herself to be held by the strength of the rope and her companions. She says "Tie me off just as my feet touch the water, I want to make sure it's nothing but water before you drop me in there."Looking down at the water below as she descends, she regrets signing up for this task just a few days before and taking the elevator down just a few hours ago. This makes it nearly impossible for me to turn back on my own now.

Rolls

Athletics - (1d20-1, 1d20-1)

1d20-1 : (17) - 1 = 16

1d20-1 : (8) - 1 = 7

Jan 9, 2017 4:12 pm
"Aye, miss," Errands says on response to Ameera's request.

"We've got 'cha, anything happens and we'll have you up in no time," Erran continues, doing his best to sound comforting.
OOC:
As stated, Erran is currently taking the help action to allow advantage to Baric, but I'm including an Athletics roll in case one is needed soon.

Rolls

Athletics - (1d20+4)

(8) + 4 = 12

The team is able to lower Ameera down carefully and, for the most part, gently. As planned, she stops just above the water, though the film atop it isn't allowing her to see what might lie within the lake. There is a coast of sorts about thirty feet to the side, where the rocky floor of the cavern dips to meet the lake.
Jan 11, 2017 12:38 am
Ameera dips her foot into the murky liquid and stirs the top with her boot. Once the film is broken, she attempts to peer below the surface.
OOC:
If there is no reaction from the water, and nothing to be seen, Ameera will unbuckle, drop in and swim for the "shore". Is an athletics check needed? You can move things along without another post from me if there are no triggers.

Rolls

Perception - (1d20)

XOSkel10 sent a note to MoMo
Ameera unstraps herself from the harness and lowers herself into the water. She immediately swims for shore.

Rolls

Athletics to lower herself the last bit - (1d20-1)

(11) - 1 = 10

Athletics to swim really fast because this sucks in general - (1d20-1)

(17) - 1 = 16

MoMo sent a note to XOSkel10
Ameera manages to keep her head above the muck on the surface of the lake, though some of it collects along her shoulders and neck. She swims to the shore until her feet are able to touch the bottom.

What's going on down there‽ Baric stage whispers, letting the echoes carry his voice. Everything alright? He raises his voice just a touch while reeling in the rope.

Waiting for a reply, he taps Erran on the shoulder saying, You take Flare, Escolant, We'll switch off.
OOC:
Baric is doing the aid action when Flare eventually gets lowered.

Pyrrah walks over slowly, her mood still clinging to the air like the the scent of a retreating thundercloud. She carefully picks up the rope and gathers her harness, preparing for the trek below and adjusting the knots so that she can repel down the cliffside instead of just being lowered, hopefully taking some of the strain off of those who will be easing her down. She finishes the knot and inspects her work, feeling that the knot would probably hold. "I'm getting real tired of the pretense lately. I suppose it'd be a shame to die down here without anyone even knowing my real name. It's Pyrrah... "

She sits down on the edge of the cliff and holds one end of the rope behind her back, ready to control her decent, and another on the end in front of her, ready to stabilize herself to keep from swinging and looks up at Erran.

"I'm ready. "
OOC:
Actually having repelled before kind of helps! Then again, repelling down a 60 degree copper mine shaft and this ARE a bit different...

Rolls

Survival - knot tying - (1d20+2)

(14) + 2 = 16

Jan 11, 2017 11:01 am
OOC:
I left the harness on the rope so you could use it.
Zubie! Zubie! Ameera whispers and mentally calls. "Go back up and tell the others that it's all clear."
She climbs onto the shore and wipes off the muck as best she can.
Jan 11, 2017 6:36 pm
Pyrrah secures her rope as best as she is able, just as Zubie comes flying into the tunnel above the lake. He manifests visibly and says, "You're clear to go, now."
Jan 12, 2017 1:04 am
"Pyrrah, eh? Well, no one's dying down here. Same deal as Ameera, call if anything goes wrong, we've got you."

Erran secures his grip along with his footing, and prepares to lower Pyrrah down.

...They're in your hands now, don't fail your teammates again...
OOC:
This is the advantage roll, including the unused roll in my previous post.

Rolls

Athletics (Advantage) - (1d20+4)

(8) + 4 = 12

Jan 12, 2017 1:49 am
Though it's significantly less steady, Pyrrah is lowered down on the rope until she's within reach of the lake's surface.
Jan 12, 2017 5:04 am
Grunting as he slowly lets the rope down, Erran mumbles over his shoulder to Baric, "You may have to do me the honor of learning the Dwarven excerise regime."
Jan 12, 2017 5:11 am
At the end of the rope, Pyrrah wriggles out of the harness and dips into the water. Immediately she spins onto her back and launches herself towards the shore as quickly as she can while conserving her arm strength for the inevitable next bout with the undead. She knows that it puts her in a slightly more vulnerable position now, but she hopes that her efforts will pay off later when her arms aren't screaming with strain.
OOC:
Is this athletics or acrobatics? Also hoping backstroking it makes the swim easier since you stay closer to the surface and in general I just find it easier...

Rolls

Just Keep Swimming... Str - (1d20)

(18) = 18

Jan 12, 2017 6:07 am
Straining a little more than previously, Baric mutters to himself about Pyrrah's name, Humph. I had all these rhymes ready for Flare: hair, care, spare, glare. Now I have to start all over again with Pyrrah!

Unless, he holds the rope a moment longer than the current rhythm then calls down in an echoing whisper, unless you live and it's still important that your name is kept a secret!
Jan 12, 2017 6:46 am
Devanis pats Baric and Erran on their tired shoulders. "Save your strength, lads. I'll let myself down." With practiced movements the ranger lowers himself over the hole and slithers down the rope.
OOC:
Ugh! Maybe Devanis is getting too old for spelunking! :-P
