Story I: The Rift

Erran's ears perk up as he hears the familiarity in the words of the creature, promptly realizing he can't understand a thing. As the tunnel goes silent, he fidgets with the blade on his hip,

"I don't like this..."

Erran creeps forward last, eyeing the pixie-like creature from the rear of the group to minimize any intimation his presence might cause.

-

Seeing that the fey seems to mean no ill intent, Erran becomes more curious than cautious. Off put by the ranger's exaggerated demeanor, he more than willingly takes Seraph, failing to hide the look of confusion and concern on his face as he does so.

As Erran secures the sentient sword to a position on his off hand side, he instinctively gets low on que. Summoning his greatsword to his hand as he looks up to see the party's assailant, Erran stops as he hears the panicked tone of the creature. He stands in place unsure of how to proceed.

Pyrrah stands with her bow trained on the assailant, but holds her shot as Neph waves down attacking. She keeps her arrow prepped until the sounds of retreat fade, and then she slowly eases the tension on the bowstring, lowering her weapon to an uneasy rest.
OOC:
Im going to roll a perception, just because I want to listen hard to make sure that little jerk is actually running away...

Rolls

Perception Check - (1d20+4)

(4) + 4 = 8

OOC:
Would Devanis have been able to react to the creature? Or was he surprised? Just ignore/delete this post if it's the latter.

Devanis has just handed Seraph over to Erran when Pyrrah shouts out a warning and then an arrow whizzes past. Reacting quickly, Devanis goes in pursuit of the shooter, and squeezos off a shot of his own from his crossbow. He sticks to the shadows, hoping to remain unseen in his pursuit.
OOC:
Devanis' movement this round is 40 ft. He has 90 ft. darkvision, if it matters

[ +- ] Pyrrah
MoMo sent a note to Jabes.plays.RPG
OOC:
Devanis was surprised by the attack (I went vs passive perception), but on the following round you are able to charge forward 40 ft and still be within range to shoot at the target (albeit at long range) with your hand crossbow. It will be at disadvantage however. You can roll the 2nd d20 if you'd like to do that! Additionally, that would mean that you are not hiding, since your action would've been to attack.

Neph is still waving her hands frantically, wide-eyed and worried.
Feb 16, 2017 9:51 pm
"Let him flee. There's no point getting lost in pursuit of him. Hopefully we've scared him off... "

Pyrrah angrily shoves the arrow back into its quiver and settles the bow against her shoulder.

OOC:
Are Ameera and Devanis still giving chase?
Feb 17, 2017 9:10 am
OOC:
Neph's urging for the party to stop attacking was never translated. And Pyrrah saying "let him flee" came after Devanis had sprinted off. So yeah he's still going.
Feb 17, 2017 9:36 am
OOC:
Okay! And yes, it's not entirely certain what Neph was trying to explain to either of you. :)
Feb 17, 2017 11:17 am
OOC:
If Ameera has lost sight of the attacker, she will stop and trance into Zubie for a look. If she still can see him, she will take another shot. She has 240' range with no penalty. Of course she has to see what she is shooting at and devils sight is only 120'
Ameera strains to see who she is following.

Rolls

Perception - (1d20)

Feb 17, 2017 11:20 am
Ameera can see a faint shadow of it just at the edge of her vision...

Neph can still be heard telling in her language.
Feb 17, 2017 11:33 am
One last chance Ameera thinks before it reports back to others. Yna, give me luck and no tricks. She stops to steady her aim and let's loose the twisted energy bolt with a murmer of "Agradoth"

Rolls

Eldritch Blast attack, Agonizing blast damage - (1d20+6, 1d10+4)

1d20+6 : (5) + 6 = 11

1d10+4 : (4) + 4 = 8

Feb 17, 2017 11:35 am
OOC:
Make another perception check please!
Feb 17, 2017 11:49 am
OOC:
I think this is all out of sequence, Devanis would have his two shots first, right?
Ameera, having stopped running, now realizes she is breathing heavily from the sprint. She crouches down and scans for her target.

Rolls

Perception - (1d20)

OOC:
I don't think the situation quite requires initiative yet. But Devanis is free to continue attacking.
The bolt of force seems to strike the creature, who then crumples to the ground.

Neph begins urgently tugging on Pyrrah's arm, looking more and more panicked, but unable to speak in a language any of you would understand.
Feb 17, 2017 1:00 pm
OOC:
I already rolled my two attacks but they haven't been resolved. Doesn't matter, as long as the thing is down. Do I see it go down?
Feb 17, 2017 1:03 pm
OOC:
I apologize, Jabes, I didn't realize you had edited your post. I'll correct mine later today. :)
Feb 17, 2017 1:25 pm
OOC:
No problem! It doesn't matter, the creature is down anyways. :-)
Feb 17, 2017 1:51 pm
Pyrrah kneels down and tries to make any sense of the gestures.

"Hold your kill shot until we actually figure out what's happening! For the love of the earth, why shoot a fleeing opponent?? Obviously are new friend here is trying to tell us something, and Miss Magic Trigger Finger needs to translate! "
Feb 17, 2017 2:27 pm
OOC:
Is Pyrrah yelling down the tunnel at Devanis? Because he ran after the shooter and was already at minimum 40 ft away when Pyrrah said "Let him flee." and so didn't hear.
