OOC:
Just going to give Devanis this info, in case you guys want to discuss. Once it seems like you guys are good to go again, I'll move on to the next scene. Thanks for bearing with me; I've been busy, but I've also wanted to make sure everyone is getting a chance to speak and play their part. :)

"Seems as though we will have to trust the creature for now."

Erran says with a slight grimace as he evaluates his party's current situation, watching the fairy-like humanoid closely. He readies himself to move out, keeping his sword unsheathed and resting on his right shoulder.

I'll move on to the next part tomorrow, if there's no further dialogue.

Neph leads the group back the way they had traveled, until coming to that intersection with the tunnel that descends at a downward slope. She takes this path, leading your group into complete darkness, without even the illumination of the fungii that was prevalent in the tunnel above. For those of you that can see, or whosoever lights a torch, this tunnel descends deep, traveling on for what seems like miles, and it takes hours for you to find much in the way of a landmark. When you do, however, it is a grand one...

After a couple hours, the tunnel opens up into a massive cavern. Humongous crystals hang down from the ceiling, reflecting a bluish glow from some unseen light source. The cavern itself extends out to the left and right for hundreds (potentially thousands) of meters. Exiting the cavern is a land bridge that spans the gap to a tunnel entrance on the far side, perhaps some three-hundred feet away. To the left and right are other such land bridges, connecting other tunnels, though they are far beyond your reach. The descend to the bottom of this cavern is a sharp one, and a steep fall of approximately sixty feet, or more.

Notably, the cavern floor to the right is dominated by the ribcage of a titanic beast, which likely drew to heights of a hundred feet or more. One of these curving, spiked ribs juts up just beside the land bridge you stand upon. It appears as though runes are carved into the thick, massive bone.

Neph leads you out onto this land bridge, calmly walking you across. As you have been traveling, she has occasionally spoken to you in her native language before remembering that you cannot understand her. She does, however, regularly check back on your group to make sure everyone is following close.
OOC:
Please make Perception Checks, as well as posting whatever reactions your characters have to the traveling and this sight, and any other actions you'd like to perform before continuing on.

"Wow! Is that a bone? Wow!" Seraph seems impressed.

Ameera keeps her familiar on her shoulder during the dark walk, occasionally caressing his poison tail and touching his mind at the same time in case he has noticed anything. When they reach the cavern and land bridge, Ameera is drawn to the runes in the bone more than the beauty of the cavern itself.

Pyrrah essentially remains quiet for the duration of the trek, although her silent exterior is only an inverted reflection of the writhing anger and turmoil within. She was angry that her eyes were so utterly useless in this impenetrable darkness, upset that the others didn't have this same, potentially deadly handicap. She was furious with herself for not remembering to bring more torches. What had she been thinking, only bringing along the normal, limited amount? Her eyes were not made for this. She was not made for this. She didn't even know why the guild had contracted her... she hunted for information and people, not through dark caves abandoned by all but the undead and monstrosities. In order to conserve her dwindling supply of torches, she makes the trek through the total darkness blind, her eyes constantly searching for even the dimmest of rays but never once catching anything but the impenetrable, inky darkness. She hated it. She felt like she was breathing it. Never again would she take for granted the sweet light of day upon their return.

When at last the dim light of the cavern appeared in her vision, she thought it was a trick of the mind, for so long had she been in the dark. As the features of the exit grew more crisp, she was almost giddy with relief. Oh, sweet light! Despite its dimness, she had to squint and shield her eyes as she took in the scene of the cavern and the skeleton. Much like Ameera, after quickly surveying the environment she is drawn towards the runes. She may not be able to do much with her bad eyes, but her talent for information and investigation must be worth something down here...

During the trip, Devanis studies the arrow Baric found - the same kind of arrow that had been shot at them. He shares his findings with the others.

As Neph leads the group into the cavern, Devanis takes it all in, mouth agape. Like the others, his eyes are immediately drawn to the bones.

Yna's lies! Baric gapes, That beast cannot have been of these depths! He begins to ponder the markings, the size of the creature, and looking into his memories of the past to make the structure and the beast come into some sort of sense.

Ameera steps back and finally takes in the larger scene. "Well someone didn't want that to come back to life. I don't disagree their decision either. What could it be that they were so worried about?" Ameera takes in the length of the skeleton. "I wish I new more of the Wyrd, that spell engraved there must be powerful, or useless. I can't tell which."

"It certainly didn't come from any creature I have ever heard of." Devanis breathes, looking up the length of the impossibly massive rib.
Mar 7, 2017 3:55 am
Erran stares with his jaw slightly open as he stands in awe of the massive remains of the creature, his inadequacy apparent to him as he is dwarfed by the skeleton. Erran doesn't let his shock distract him though, keeping an eye on Neph as she begins traversing the bridge.

"Those runes look familiar," Seraph says with a confused tone, "I'm not sure from where, but I think I've seen them before."
Mar 7, 2017 1:42 pm
"Really?" Erran says in response to the Seraph, "Maybe something you saw in your travels with your previous companion?"
Mar 7, 2017 2:00 pm
"Yeah, that's probably it! Elnaril was very smart, and would've known all about these sorts of things."
Mar 8, 2017 4:08 am
"Baric, do the legends or histories of the dwarves mention this place? I cant imagine that this went unnoticed."
