Creature ignores Nyx movement concentrating his gaze n Tante Lude.
OOC:
No attack of off opportunity on Nyx and yes you could keep doing your witch bolt damage

IF/THEN ACTION:

One combatant falls. If GM allows, her normal action would be to use healing word on the fallen Paladin, while keeping up her other spells. If not then speak a Word of Radiance. Tante Lude has an intuition that the chain balances damage between them and we will have to do enough damage to make both fall before either stops fighting.

Rolls

Healing word on Paladin (if GM desires) - (1d4+4)

(4) + 4 = 8

or Word of Radiance (CON SAVE negates) area effect - (2d6)

(63) = 9

Twilight Sanctuary (Temporary HP to all this round) - (1d6+10)

(4) + 10 = 14

Spirit Guardians (Wis Save for half) area effect - (4d6)

(2425) = 13

Spiritual Weapon (melee spell attack) - (1d20+8)

(12) + 8 = 20

Spiritual Weapon (radiant damage) - (1d8+4)

(8) + 4 = 12

OOC:
Sorry for delayed narration, I forgot I promised to assume you always immediately see when creature is immune to type of damage it receives
And yes heat metal on chain were nice trick! It does indeed damage both of them
Tinkara indeed seen electrical sparkling jumping over the chains and both creatures seem to be energized rather than damaged.

Fire seems to make a better effect. The flesh in the armor smokes and so does the other creature. They continue attacking, but their attacks seems to be slow as the flesh keeps burning from the heat coming from chain

Rolls

Attack Tante Lude - (2d20L1+7, 2d20L1+7)

2d20L1+7 : (915) + 7 = 16

2d20L1+7 : (82) + 7 = 9

Attack Criella - (2d20L1+7, 2d20L1+7)

2d20L1+7 : (217) + 7 = 9

2d20L1+7 : (196) + 7 = 13

OOC:
OK, now as they are on fire from the chain they can't release they will be attacking with disadvantage and you will finish them off in a round (or two if unlucky), so let me end this combat already - out of Initiative
You continue attacking creature who appear to be surprisingly durable, but clumsy now as they are on fire.

Checking bodies you figure out if cleaned you got two plate males in good condition.

As you proceed further there is another tomb to the right:

A four-columned portico juts out from the far wall, beneath which a stone sarcophagus rests in a wall recess. Four ceramic frog masks hang in niches around the sarcophagus. Beneath the masks, humanoid bones are strewn across the floor. To the east, a large carving of a tentacled frog-monster squats above a shrine. Offerings lie on a shelf before it. Four rectangular frescoes adorn the adjacent walls.

While looking into the tomb you hear someone mowing the grand stairs behind you and turning around you see....
OOC:
@mathias0077 please introduce your PC, he just run upstairs and looks into the corridor see 4 adventures just after a fight. He start realizing/remembering he just escaped from whoever captured him, but can't remember details. You do remember your backstory and any events before commin to this dungeon and even events in dungeon where you think died eventually.

Tante Lude will take one of the plate mails.
Mar 22, 2025 1:07 pm
Coming up the stairs Tobias is trying to remember what has happened to him. His memory for some reason is blank about the last couple of days and very foggy about everything before that. He sorta remembers a family. The Creel family? He for some reason feels as though they weren't his actual family but they raised him for some reason. He does remember striking out on his own to make his name and fortune. He vaguely remembers meeting a group and heading to a tomb or dungeon or something. Coming to the top of the stairs and looking into the corridor he sees four figures. These must be the people he came here with. Has he escaped his unknown captors and found his companions? He moves into the corridor on his guard just in case, no weapon in hand but ready to cast a spell if need be. As he get closer he seems to remember the blonde woman but can't remember her name. Looking at her he says"There you are I am glad I finally found you again. I gave my captors the slip and don't believe they have any idea where I have gone."

https://gamersplane.com/characters/avatars/31634.jpg?1738491326Still with head Criella is immensity glad to see the two undead are destroyed. She has zero concern about the armor as obviously winged Criella isn't wanting any. Her breast plate is just about the maximum of armor she can still manage and fly. Half plate armor tailored to her unusual body would be the only possible increase. She looks good in her breast plate armor.

She is glad she manages to come out of this minor battle looking good. She just recently cleaned up after being drench multiple times. She always keeps up with her appearance. She has already used prestidigitation to freshen up. Of course, is still maintaining all three scents. Only dropped hers a moment.

She notes the coming of the Half-Elf and seeing how this situation appears to be a non-combative, she heard saying, "Aren't you a sweety." She currently possesses in her hands a pair jeweled handle scimitars from a very recent battle. Other than the weapons in hands she looks like just walked out of a restaurant to days air. Her huge bat wings are totally folded up currently, so she doesn't have that full succubus look. There is no mistake that is a winged female Tiefling.

She fully covers up how she is feeling about killed Vesuvius who is laying upon the floor with very little of his head intact. She really isn't sure how the others are going to do about dead him either. Being relatively new, she has no say so.

Zim (monkey familiar)
Zim jumps and screeches in the mans face to alert the other of the man aproatching their flank, then quickly flies to Nyx and chitters nervously.

"Tobias! I thought you were . . . uh, dead." Tante Lude's voice dropped away. After all, she remembered herself dying too. Quickly she recovered and said in her low, throaty voice.

"It is wonderful to see you alive and well. I will let you meet the others." The still attractive cleric gave him a strong plate armored hug, smelling of perfume and the scent of a woman.

https://gamersplane.com/characters/avatars/31634.jpg?1738491326 Onlooking Criella says in a off way as she strides up and close personal, "Oh. I guess he is already taken. I'm just Criella." and she too has a distinctive scent about her which is lavender. And she has returned her scimitar pair to their proper places freeing her hands.

She smirks and says with a touch of sarcasm, "Staying a while?" while holding attractive pose which demi demon (succubus) does so well and often. She does this mostly out of habit as her tail sways about.

She adds on, "This might be a fine moment to take a break and chat some with ... " She leaves it open for Tobias Moon to fill in. Short rest and she can regain her Action Surge. She obviously has no damage on her.

"Tan..te? I was taken captive. How long has it been? Looking at the others"I am Tobias Moon treasure hunter. I think I have been captive for a few weeks. It is hard to remember. I think they were doing something to try and scan my mind. I can't remember though."

"Hello! If you are a friend of Tante Lude then that's good enough for me! I'm Tinkara, but my friends call me Tinks. I have a wild magic that lets me help my friends."
OOC:
You see a small fairy, with lilac colored skin, purple hair, and butterfly wings. She flits back and forth, carrying a small wand that is giving off light.
Mar 24, 2025 5:15 pm
I will move up and into the hallway to our right. I will proceed down the hallway, but not enter the room proper. Do I pick up any additional details?
Mar 25, 2025 8:35 am
As Tinkara move up into to hallway she notice a lone skeleton hiding around the corner, who tries to escape, but you manage to kill it quite quickly. This skeleton have strange head, similar like one you killed in pentagram room, but this one has head in form of a pentagon.

Four frescoes line the east wall of the tomb, two on each side of the shrine.
[ +- ] Frescoes
Shrine itself contains following items:
-A 6-inch-tall stone statuette of a froghemoth, which weighs 5 pounds and has an inscription on its base in language you don't know
-A copper bowl containing rat bones
-Four dead cockroaches
-A green wax candle with a salvageable wick
-5 gp

"First thing, I'd bet my pretty wings that these skeleton skulls are part of a puzzle. I suggest we carry them with us. I can fly back to the pentagram room and get the square one."

"Second, there a really direct correspondence between these frescoes, the objects on the altar, and the masks on the niches by the sarcophagus. Clearly this is also a puzzle for us to solve. My guess would be that we should put on the masks, light the candle, and take the statue, candle, coins, and bowl over to the sarcophagus. May put some fresh food in the bowl. Now, I'm not a very good puzzle solver, so if anyone has a better idea that would be welcome."

"I'll be back shortly."

I take the pentagonal skull from the skeleton, then fly out and up to the pentagram room and take the square skull. Once I have it I will return to the group.
Mar 25, 2025 9:07 pm
"So, this frog god statue and the panels imply that we can call upon help of some kind here with the appropriate ritual. Coins for aid against the inanimate, eating the insects for the animate though we might need living insects rather than these desiccated ones, an animal sacrifice to find something or someone against possibly needing a live offering, and probably a lit candle with offerings of food and treasure to gain its attention in the first place.

Anyone read that differently? Anyone think we should propitiate the frog god now before we need his aide? Anyone think it ties in with what Tinks is talking about?"

Despite her words, Tante Lude collects the statute, the coins, the candle, the rat bones, and the dried insects in their offering bowls, as always in this cursed and tricksy place using her telekinesis to do so rather than touching anything.

@mathias0077 @WanderOne @Psybermagi may I assume your PCs ignore what Tante Lude asked and do nothing?
Mar 27, 2025 8:05 pm
https://gamersplane.com/characters/avatars/31634.jpg?1738491326 "I really have no idea of this froghemoth situation. Way out of my knowledge."

Meanwhile, I return with both skulls.
