Chapter 4: Level 3 dungeon

Barely considered alive Criella is a total necrotic mess. Her entire body looks withered. If it wasn't for the constant lavender scent you probably be smelling rot. She was lean before and now she is really lost some weight. Her armor sets rather loose on her. And on top of that she claw/raked across every inch of body. Her armor is scratched badly, and her clothes are mess. The evil undead had lots of fun. Amazing how much damage they can do in just 12 seconds. Thoughts to pick her up or get a shovel to move her.

I will fly to Criella and stabilize her.

"Nyx, it's time to retreat. Let's get Criella stable and go back to a room we've already cleared. Do you want to stay in haste until that's done?"

The Bear swipes at the fleeing ghost then releasing his wildshape and casts a cure wounds on Criella.

"As soon as Criella is able to walk, let's go back to the room we solved, with the hieroglyphs on the floor. We should be able to take the time there to rest. We certainly need it."

Barely alive Criella was hard to tell that she was even breathing. Just wasn't much left hanging on. The undead had ravished her well. To be sure, she was an easy mark for finishing up.

With Nyx casting of powerful cure wounds, life immediately come back to her amber eyes. Amazing amount of healing was occurring. Her skin was becoming full again and the necro look vanishing. Many of the wounds have closed. She was taking in breaths. She doesn't immediately speak but instead she does manage to turn her head to look about as her hand slowly hunts for "Cornus" her favored silver scimitar. And her lavender scent is still about her.

With almost broken common, she says to Nyx, "Aren't you a sweety." With the spells finished up, she stumbles trying to stand but manages it. She says to Tink, "I'm good to move. Where is the frog?" She doesn't ask about Tobais as she remembers what happened to him and almost her. She does however consider his gear but may not be much left of his body after soul being rip from it and turned into a specter.

And NO. As being TOAD, she isn't kissing the FROG. (Warts city)

Slot less Criella can only cast cantrips now. She does pickup her unicorn horn too. She has only her three cantrips to cast and none of them are going to help her right now. She had used all her slots left over in the last fight. She looks fail being like a level 1 in level 10 dungeon.

"I have Frog Lude in my pouch, Criella. She's safe as can be in this place. I'm also low on spell slots, though I'm not injured. Let's get to where we can get some rest, then we'll figure out what to do next."

As soon as Criella is able to move, I'll start leading the way back to the room.

"We should take Tobias's body too. Don't like the thoughts to leave it exposed here." as she looks over his body. She could haul it but Nyx was a better choice.

She is very ready to find someplace to curl up on her bedroll and sleep. Later think about what to do with her torn clothing as she doesn't have mending cantrip.

Nyx sighs and grabs the body of Tobias before heading to their destination. Where they out of a dungeon he would simply perform last rites for the man but here, now, he needed to make sure it too did not raise as an undead or get eaten by another monstrosity. He idly wondered what items the man had that would help the party. None of them used a sword, and the armore would only serve for the cleric . . .

almost 24 hours later ...

When they get to the room, Lude is put down on the floor. After a time, her body reasserts itself, an uncomfortable and difficult procedure but one that affords great relief. She draws the story of what happened out of the others and thinks back to her training:

How permanent is the hit point reduction and, if permanent, can it be reversed with Greater Restoration?

If I remember correctly, can't raise dead in this dungeon. Sorry Tobias.

"If poor Tobias happened to have a dagger, I would like to respectfully take it, as I am not skilled with the hand axe Nyx graciously lent me."

""If not then you can use mine. Not like I use it much more than cutting up rations. And I don't eat rations in a long time."

Criella feels much better after the long rest

Woot 9 HP but 64 max. and slots are back. She really just needs one LR.

After HD healing, Criella is fully ready. She isn't level 1 any more and has all her charm back. She does all she can for her clothing & gear to clean up. Even uses a splash of her expensive perfume.

She just doesn't have any goodberries so it will be rations till tomorrow. "I really don't care to fight with those ghosts again."

"Thank you, Criella. That makes me feel a good bit better."

I return the hand axe to Nyx.

"I appreciate the loan, Nyx. It was very kind of you"

"Well, we didn't solve that problem unless killing the ghosts cleared the way. What do you suggest is our next step?"

"Rested and with all our powers, we might be able to take the ghosts. I don't know that it's worth it. They are extremely dangerous foes. Nothing seems to be very effective against them except magic missiles and enchanted or silvered weapons."

"Of course not having a frog with us would give us an edge against them but we are also in turn one less." She smile, "But there is only two of them and I have bad feeling they will want to take me down considering how effective they were last time."

"If we do option for that I will certainly have protection up ahead of time that may well defend me."
