Robert joined Thomas and nodded, "Yes, Mr. Ackerman, tell me what I can do and I will try to be as precise as possible. But, I must warn you, I do not have any experience in these matters."

Go ahead and roll your bonus die (don’t mind who, whoever sees this first

Damn! Don't curse my luck! Rolling d10.

OK that's didn't help. The good news is you can still use Luck on that roll and it is within your amount available (only Thomas can spend on this).

Alternatively, it's to Plan B

OOC:
I would like to spend 19 luck to succeed on the roll with Dr. Whittaker's help.
"Just hold the light here Doctor. Thank you," Thomas wedges the stick of dynamite under the door in a chip in the stone that he hopes is a weak spot in the slab.

"Alright Doctor, you might want go back into the treasure room and crouch down with your hands over your ears. Make sure everyone else is ready, and leave me a space right next to the crawl space as I plan on coming through fast. Once the explosion happens we're going to want to make our way to the entrance right quick, maybe even before the dust settles. I have a feeling this place is going to come down fast."

Thomas waits for Doctor Whittaker to get to the other room. He takes a deep breath and looks at the candle in his hand.
I really hope I get to die outside, he thinks to himself, and lights the fuse. He turns and bolts for the hole, flinging himself to his stomach, crawling through and rolling to the side, covering his ears and curling up into a protective position.

Thomas makes it through the gap just as the dynamite goes off, the explosion shakes the entire tomb and limestones begin to fall. Now's the time to escape!
OOC:
Eugen comes round at this point.

@tergolap Roll 1d10 to see what your indefinite insanity holds for you. At this stage you are in an underlying state of insanity, can act normally however the result of this roll will become part of your personality, at least until you get successful therapy.
While in this state (which ordinarily lasts 1d10 hours) and further sanity loss will trigger another Bout of Madness.
Mar 21, 2025 7:25 am
OOC:
As you all make the run for the exit, there's a chance of being hit by falling debris. Can each of you make a Luck roll. If you fail, I'll need a dodge roll to avoid being hit by something.

Rolling for Indefinite Insanity, roger.

Do I have to roll for Luck + Dodge as well? Luck would be okay, but as Eugen can't do anything proactively it's just luck after all to not get hit.

1d10 for kind of indefinite insanity - (1D10)

Yes, Luck and Dodge for you too, Eugen. You can walk/run by yourself without problem as you have regained consciousness.
Mar 21, 2025 10:56 am
Eugen opens his eyes and looks around, not knowing what's acutally going on.
OOC:
A little fast forward here: I assume the other shout at Eugen, telling him that they'd blown up the entrance and have to run. Now! The loud 'boom' woke him up again and now the have to run ...
In a dizzy state he tumbles through the dusty tomb towards the supposed exit, swinging his clenched fists against invisible menaces.

"Harrrrghhh ... Whahh!"

Pow! Bam!
OOC:

Post Roll:
A LUCK of 60! How could I miss that? 😒

Try to dodge, if unlucky (vs. 25) - (1D100)

Robert heard the deafening boom of the dynamite explosion as he wondered whether he would finally be able to get out of the wretched cave. When he recovered from the initial shuddering of the impact, he shouted to no one in particular, "That's it! Let's go to the exit, everyone. Quick!" For once, he thought if the dynamite was successful in carving out their exit, but he ran anyway.

Rolls

Luck vs 29 - (1d100)

(41) = 41

dodge roll vs 25 - (1d100)

(93) = 93

As Robert and Eugen both scramble through and start to run, debris rains down. Both men fail to avoid getting hit.

Eugen is down!
OOC:
Damage, death and dying

When you take more than half max health in one hit, that's a major wound. Normally you'd roll CON to stay conscious but in this instance, Eugen has also hit 0 health, which means he's dying. Someone can administer first aid to stabilise him (at risk, in this situation), otherwise he must make a CON check each round or die.

Rolls

Eugen damage - (1d10)

(10) = 10

Robert Damage - (1d10)

(2) = 2

Lady Bishop waits with Mr. Chornyi, behind the chariot once again, straining to hear Mr. Ackerman and Dr. Whittaker report they set the dynamite. Was it just her imagination, or was it starting to become hard to breathe as well? As she waits, she looks worriedly at their fallen colleague and then is distracted by the gold of the chariot. Surely, they could take something at least? She grabs a small statuette before she is distracted by Eugen seeming to stir. She starts to shake him to wake him. The event they are waiting for comes faster than expected as Robert arrives to take cover and a hissing sound soon after as the fuse is lit. She covers her ears like the others and the loud explosion seems to wake Eugen out of his stupor.

Through the ringing, she hears Robert shout out: "That's it! Let's go to the exit, everyone. Quick!"

Eugen appears still dazed, but she seems him follow Robert out.

"Bonuses for all of you, let us escape posthaste!"

She hikes up her skirts and tucks the statuette away in her reticule as she runs after the others. Fresh air at last!
OOC:
Oops, shouldn't have spent so much luck!

Oh, but somehow she has lucked out. Maybe a lucky statuette? >.>

Almost as soon as Thomas curls into a ball, the explosion rocks the tomb. Dust gouts out of the small entrance to the treasure room. He immediately rolls back over and starts making his way toward what he hopes is fresh air. Stones from the ceiling are falling all around him and Thomas manages to dodge them. Suddenly his foot catches on something soft and squishy. He looks down and he can barely see through the dust the crumpled form of Eugen.
OOC:
Is it possible to carry Eugen outside and administer First Aid to him while not under a collapsing roof? Thomas is pretty strong.

OOC:
@Natural_Causes Thomas could absolutely carry him out and perform First Aid outside, that would mean a single round of the "Death roll".
Mar 21, 2025 10:39 pm
OOC:
If that's the way you'd like to go, next step would be Eugen's CON roll then First aid. Thomas has the highest First Aid, so is the best man for the job but with assistance can take a bonus die to that roll.
Mar 21, 2025 11:27 pm
As Lady Bishop blinks owlishly in the relative brightness outside, she turns around to see Thomas carrying an unconscious and badly injured Eugen. In the rush, dust, and falling debris, she had failed to see their fallen companion.

"Bloody H-HELP! Bring the doctor now!"

She shouts out to the workers she hopes are still there and moves forward with smelling salts.
OOC:
Adding in the assistance roll for Thomas!
Mar 22, 2025 12:11 am
OOC:
@tergolap This is your moment! Give me that CON roll.
Mar 22, 2025 12:13 am
A handful of the workers are still at the site and they rush to help as you emerge from the blown apart entrance. Dust kicks out as the tunnel collapses behind you.
