You are on the same level. You went down the stairs at the top of the map and found three rooms. The far room had a whole broken into one of the walls. You checked that tunnel, but it lead nowhere. Since the three rooms were otherwise empty and since there does not appear to be a path from where you can see to the stairs on the opposite corner of the temple, you went back up the stairs at the top of the map, walked around to the opposite corner, and went back down to the same level. Once you got there, you found three more rooms like before, but this time the middle room seems to be "shorter" than it should be. You are now checking to see if there is a reason for this ...Ah, thinks Oliver to himself, maybe I will be able to make use of those quick lessons I got before we left!
Moving back into the "short" room, you can see that while now empty, there had been a desk and chair by the entrance door, and a couple tables along the "right" side wall.
I.e. this was kind of a "processing" area for anyone who was arriving (or leaving) using the platform.
