First Evening at Yokai Academy

The small bell above the Café Céleste’s entrance chimes as the girls step inside, the scent of fresh cakes and coffee washing over them. The café is cozy, lined with warm wooden furniture and softly glowing lanterns. The atmosphere is elegant yet casual, the kind of place that feels effortlessly charming.

She clutches the register as if it’s a lifeline, shifting her weight nervously whenever someone raises their voice. Someone behind the staff-door constantly yells about something, making her visibly tense each time—but she keeps her focus, her fingers typing prices like clockwork.
She takes a deep breath before softly announcing: "Please enjoy your meal… um… thank you for coming to Café Céleste." Her hands twitch slightly.

She looks at the other girls, specially at Sumeryu, her eyes squinting a little bit, as she rubs her knuckles, suddenly feeling a bit sore. "Oh... Uh... You guys are having some snacks?? W-well, don't mind if I join!"

"Too much wasted inventory this week," she mutters before turning her gaze toward another maid coming from the kitchen, bringing orders, with blue hair and yellow eyes, her tone dripping with disapproval. "I’m deducting the cost of broken dishes from your paycheck."
When the yelling inside restarts, She mumbles without looking up: "You’re too loud."
She sounds bored, unimpressed by everything and everyone, yet her sharp eyes are constantly watching, calculating.

"I’M SO SORRY! I-I’LL FIX IT RIGHT AWAY!"
She scrambles to clean the mess, but in doing so, she knocks over another tray on a nearby table, sending cakes toppling.
Finally, a redheaded girl, presumably the source of the yelling, comes from the kitchen. She then practically explodes at her: "Reika! Are you actually blind?! That’s the FOURTH time today!"
Reika winces but keeps trying to clean up, only for the silver-haired girl to sigh and adjust her glasses. "Hopeless," she mutters under her breath.
A blonde maid in a blue blue dress, who also came out, quickly kneels next to Reika, patting her head. "It’s okay, don’t rush. Accidents happen!"
Reika sniffles, nodding quickly before standing back up with comical determination, as if vowing to be less clumsy—until she immediately trips again...

"Why don't you go to the lounge and regain your breath, while I take care of the customers, uh?" She says kindly, dismissing the girl and leaving for the kitchen. After a very short while, she comes back with a new tray, going swiftly to the girls' table and precisely handing out orders. "I'm so sorry for the inconvenience." She gives Konomi a warm smile. "I hope the cake is to your liking." She adds, with a chuckle.

The loud maid utters, finally revealing herself. She slams her hands on the counter, flaring up at the inconvenience. Which prompts the blonde maid: "Oops, I better go!" She says chuckling, sticking her tongue out. As she comes near the counter, she swiftly pulls the redheaded maid away inside the kitchen, giving cheerfully flustered looks at the customers.

"Thank you for waiting, my dears~." Her pale lilac eyes shimmer mysteriously as she studies the guests with an intensity that doesn’t quite match the warm café atmosphere. "I'm Irina... Irina Yukiha, the owner of this café... A pleasure to meet you..." She then chuckles modestly "Heh, You seem like an interesting bunch... Please, enjoy yourselves…"
"I'll have a black coffee and a strawberry shortcake," she says to the shy maid. She's already here, so she may as well see if they serve decent sweets.
She's blindsided by Aika's sudden appearance. "Ack! Too tight! Too tight, chicken nugget! I was going to, but my plans ended up changing! I forgot to tell you!" Hanami gasps for air as she struggles against Aika's grasp to no avail.
"Sure, just invite yourself..." Hanami grumbled under her breath. "Now let me go!"
The antics of the various maids keep her mildly entertained until their orders arrive. She's halfway through finishing her coffee when Irina comes to their table. She eyes the platter warily, making no move to take a cake, even though it looks so good to her.
"That's for us? The one in the blue dress already brought our orders though," Hanami points out.
IT'S FULL OF MAIDS.
Her thoughts stick in a loop for five whole seconds when she ducks through the door and takes in the room full of cute girls and cake. Multiple kinds of cake. Girls. Maids. MAIDS.
Hanami, Katsuya, Konomi. MAIDS.
She takes several deep breaths to keep calm. It appears, to everyone looking at the seven-foot-tall girl, that she is just appreciating the smell of the fresh pastries and coffee. At the table, she sits straight-backed and elegant, appearing for all the world to be the very image of immaculate statuesque beauty and charisma.
Aika comes barreling in and adds more cute girls.
Sumeryu orders several different types of pastry and prefers tea to coffee. She moved to stand and help when the silver-haired maid, Reika, tripped, but the other maids seemed to have it under control.
"Thank you, Yukiha-san. It is a pleasure to meet you," Sumeryu answers the Head Maid. "I am Himeji Sumeryu, and with me are Luna Freya, Watanabe Konomi, Doji Ibuki, Dr. Matsuyama Hanami, Momochichi Katsuya, and Fujimura Aika." She indicates each girl in turn with her hand. "Your cafe is lovely, and I look forward to enjoying what you have to offer."
She bows from the neck and comes off as charming and refined, entirely by accident since her thoughts are running in very tight circles about MAIDS and CAKE.
Modern customs sure are intriguing...
I guess this is just how yokai cafes are.
It didn't take long for the group of girls to be seated, and a maid quickly took their orders. "I'll have some tea and an order of the chocolate chip soufflé pancakes, please."
A short while later, Luna's eyes lit up as she eyed the fluffy stack of pancakes in front of her. The pancakes were dotted with chocolate chips on the inside and topped off which a swirl of whipped cream. Chocolate syrup was drizzled over it all and extra chocolate chips were sprinkled on top. It was a pure delight for every chocolate lover out there.
Luna was taking her time to enjoy the pancakes as Irina approached their table with extra goodies. The extra desserts looked appetizing, but they would have to wait until her pancakes were gone first.

She sits between Sumeryu and Luna this time. And when she's distracted, Luna suddenly catches herself being sniffed by her! "Oh, hey!! Y-you're like me!! You, fluffy and all!! Aren't you?? Eh? Eh?" She says, apparently very joyful at that.

"Well then, eat your fill and enjoy the meal!" She rhymes, "We'll keep in touch~" Irina says, turning back and leaving for the staff area.
Moments later, while the group finishes the cookies she left, Ibuki feels something fibrous and dry inside her cookie as she bites it. At closer inspection, there was a piece of paper inside the cookie!!
After studying it, it was clearly a map of the campus, or at least the northwestern part of it, displaying the shopping district (here) at the bottom and the chapel at the right corner, the rest presumably filled by the forest. Somewhat on the center of the little page, I. e. at the north of the shopping district and west of the chapel, there is a red X marked on it.
Luna would be curious about the map as well, but she was too preoccupied dealing with Katsuya to pay close attention.
"Yes, Yukiha-san. Thank you for your complements and hospitality." The giant girl blushes a little bit, just enough that an attentive observer might notice.
She eats the treats slowly, particularly enjoying the pavê, which reminds her of a less coffeeish tiramisu.

"Hold on, Ibuki. Think about it. Isn't it strange that there was a map leading out to the middle of the forest in one of the cookies? What if something dangerous is waiting there? I don't think you should go alone." Hanami rises from her seat. "It's just way too suspicious!"
Quoth the dragon of the ninth chapter of the Collected Koans of Lady Josei, a notable text of the Shingon sect:
"Just as no one alone may build a wheel from the bare earth, so may no one break the wheel of samsara alone."
She slowly puts down her tea and fork and stands up, immediately dominating the visual space with her size and good looks. Most of the people present probably don't know she got that line from Magical Thunderbolt Raiko, a mahou shoujo manga with surface aesthetics from the action-hero-oriented Vajrayaana Buddhist tradition wherein the heroine uses magic lightning to vanquish evil and get in trouble. Friendship is, of course, a major theme.
But wow does she seem really cool quoting manga.
"We are friends, and I, for one, will not let you go into danger alone."
She takes out her wallet from a pocket in the pleats of her skirt, deposits 50,000 yen on the table without talking about it, puts away said wallet, and makes to go with Ibuki.
She smiles at Hanami with pride. "And it looks like Dr. Matsuyama won't either."
Her jaw is momentarily dropped by the amount of money Sumeryu casually pulled out, but she finds her voice when she's addressed. "O... Of course! Well, I don't know about 'friends', but I wouldn't be able to sleep well tonight if something happened..." Hanami started trying to play off her insistence, her cheeks flushing slightly. When Ibuki started to leave, Hanami grabbed her bag and followed.

And thus, the girls who decided on it, go back outside, the red sun now a mere stripe of light on the horizon, skies filled with deep purples and oranges.
Their goal lead them back to the chapel, as deserted as before, though now the front door is half-opened, giving a peek of the neo-gothic interior, now darkened, as it seems to not have artificial lighting and relying completely on sunlight to be illuminated.
Through there, they, following the markings on the map, find an entrance to the forest deep; the place seeming to connect with the overall direction Hanami could scry from her spell, when looking for the source of corruption. Though the search-area is still broad.
Hanami squints as the sun begins to set, limiting her ability to see well. As a witch, her night vision is no better than a human's. She's not sure if Ibuki's is much better either. "Damn it... Hey, Sumeryu, do dragons have good night vision? I know a few spells that can enhance your eyesight. If you could lead us, I think we'd find the spot much quicker."
Certainly, Katsuya wasn't the first person today to show off her monster form, and Luna thought she probably wouldn't be the last either. By now, Sumeryu had just slapped her wad of cash on the table to pay as she left to join Ibuki and Hanami. In reaction, the blond maid looked a bit distraught since Sumeryu left before she could get her change.
How strange, I would have thought most people would just take the excess money for themselves.
"Um, if it's okay, I can deliver the change to my friend for you?" Luna, half listening in earlier, had a hunch in which direction the group went. They couldn't have gone far since they just left. Delivering Sumeryu's change for the maid should be a piece of cake for Luna, not that she had room in her stomach for a slice.
"Keep the change. For your wonderful service," Sumeryu replies to the maid with a grin as she walks out the door.
If one looks closely at Sumeryu's eyes, they will see that her pupils have slowly contracted as the daylight receded, becoming vertical and thinner. Not quite yet slits.
With gravitas, "I do, at least. You know a lot of different spells. I'm impressed."
"Heh... How's that?" Hanami preens.

As for Luna, she says. "Oh, indeed! I've saw lots of people using their monster powers today!" She says, counting on her mind. Then a grin sprouts on her face. "Hey... Why don't you reveal you tail and ears too, eh?? I'm sure they're so fluffy!! Oh, and white! Like fluffy snow!!"
Thus the girls go, finding an opening through the forest, a trail it seemed, joining with the chapel. Sumeryu could see the trail was used recently, with footprints still visible to her, looking like leather shoes, number 9, with wooden soles and rubber-lined heels, old-fashioned stuff. The individual also seemed to wear a long-hemmed dress, judging by how lowly bushes and thickets were swept and dragged. Overall, he seamed taller than the average Japanese adult, but seemed to move with lots of grace and dexterity.
Despite that, she could also still see the chapel behind, along with the school grounds through the murk, helping her guide the group, as the Earth now sank in darkness.
"Hello?!! Who's there??" The group suddenly hears, the voice from a male adult it seems, though it had a light, pleasant tone, even in distress. They also find a hat lying on the ground. The hat is all black, very wide brimmed, lined with a velvety material and with a round top, a chord tied around it, with a pompom of black thread in its end.
"Oh dear, I hope, whatever you are, that you came to help, not to uh... Devour me... hick." He adds.
As the party turns at a curve, they finally see it, Sumeryu first, of course, but the oil lamp at his feet helped everyone else at that:

"Oh... A-are you students?? A-am I saved? Oh, good heavens, I can't see a thing..." He says, his voice still whimsical despite his predicament.

"Ah! M-miss Momochichi??, is that you?? Phew... What a relief!! I thought it was another monster! Oh... Can you help me here? I was here, gathering herbs and then, alas! I was attack by these vines! Hmm... I'm afraid they're an inch away from crushing my bones..." He says, calmly.
On closer inspection, he seemed to be the author to those footprints, there was a basket full of herbs next to the tree, and he had a rosario fastened on his wrist.
"Your magic is amazing. I'm pretty sure I can see infrared now."
At the church, she sees the priest, points, and announced, "One of the possessed plants got somebody! Let's get him free, quick!"
She tenses her forearms for a moment to bring out her sharper-than-razors claws and begin the arduous work of slicing the priest free without slicing the priest himself. Her boots crunch on the leaves and twigs, and her hair flies behind her.
"Just stay as still as you can, sir," she says, attempting to be comforting despite her obvious lethality and intimidating size and also the mutant evil plant strangling the poor fellow.
Minutes later, the wind brings a few petals that seem too delicate for any flowers that grow within a place like this.
She grabs something within the void and pulls it out, revealing a battery-powered saw for cutting casts with. I suppose this can cut evil vines in a pinch... She turns on the saw and starts trying to cut the vines.
"Are you hurt? How long have you been out here?" She asks Tsuji.

That's true... Maybe I can sense them if I focus.

As Hanami pulls the cast saw he loses it though. "Gah! Uh... Be careful with that, okay?" He says, chuckling nervously.
The two of them make quick work of the vines, quickly freeing him.
After he dusts and straightens his cassock, he let's out a relieved sigh. "Oh, thank you very much! As I said, I came to pick herbs at sundown, but was instead picked by them!" He laughs loudly at his own pun, grabbing the casket with herbs.
"Uh... Were you girls looking for something around here? Coincidence? What do you mean?" He asks, his curiosity peacked.
"Oh, and where's my manners! I'm Father Rhuohan Tsuji, Yokai Academy's chaplain, among other things..." He adds, with an amused tone.
Meanwhile, Luna exerts her mystic sense, her eyes glowing eerily as she can clearly see the source of the corruption now, just ahead, from where the vines retreated when were cut. She can clearly distinguish the dark aura coming from a wet place, maybe a pond or small lake up ahead. Also, that it was growing stronger as the twilight sun rays quickly vanished.
Then, Ling Jing appears from the shadows, in the company of some guy!

He approaches the group, arms linked with Ling Jing's, chivalrously.
But then quickly detaches, "Tell, o priest, if I'm not in heaven, surrounded by all these angels?" He says, dancing around, trying to osculate every girl's hand he can (his grasp strangely lacked the agility and firmness to be expected from such a figure).
Luna paused for a brief moment. "Oh, but, um, it's nice to meet you too, Father Tsuji." Luna bowed slightly as she greeted him.
Sumeryu is not familiar with the nuances of theology. Having grown up in Japan, she associates clerical activities with purification, weddings, and funerals, and it is to the first she primarily refers.
The new guy prancing around trying to molest her princesses causes Sumeryu to frown. She doesn't feel like she possesses the other girls, but it's just not right to grab somebody licentiously when they don't want to be so grabbed. Ah, but there's Lin, whose presence is more welcome.
Sumeryu waves pleasantly at Lin and her expression brightens. "Jing-san, this is Tsuji Ruohan, the priest of this temple. Tsuji-sensei, this is Jing Lin."
He is kind of hot though... Wait, that's not important right now!
She turns to Father Tsuji. "We came out here because one of us found a map hidden inside a cookie at Café Céleste. It sounds a little farfetched, but it's true. The map led us to this very spot for some reason," she explains.

He returns the bow on Luna. "Nice to meet your bunch! Though I already knew good Katsuya, of course! Such a wonderful soul!"
He approaches Sumeryu, being quite a tall man himself, he doesn't stand that much below her, but his slightly frail appearance certainly contrasts with hers. "Unfortunately I have some... commitments I must attend right now, so best of luck to you young people!" He produces a golden metal cylinder from a previously hidden pocket on his cassock. "Have this at least, it's filled with holy water, may be useful!"
If Sumeryu picks it, she notices it's actually plastic coated with gold paint, the lad being but a bottle-cap.

She raises her eyebrow at the handsome boy, unsure why he was acting like he knew her. "Uh, no? I thought that was obvious. And don't call me precious, you damn weirdo!" She snaps. "There's no way we've met, because I would definitely remember a face like that," she says. Her cheeks redden as she realizes the compliment she just implied in that statement. "A-Anyway! Just introduce yourself. Are you Lin Jing's boyfriend or something? Because if you are, you should be more careful with what you say and do."
Perishing the thought, she decided to stay silent for a bit, playing up her reputation for shyness, and established a mental link with Rikishi - just for silent communication, without even trying to dig into his thoughts. You had a good start and it seems Hanami's already envious. See how despite the hostile demeanour, she has a very different side right under the surface. You two have more in common than at first appears; just don't get carried away with that information, use it sparingly. Anyway, up to you whether you want to tell who you are, keep up the mystery for a while longer. I'll play along with whatever you choose, but keep me informed of the plan.

"I'm Rikishi, of course!"

As Rikishi reveals his identity, Hanami struggles to process it. "W... What? Like hell you're Rikishi-senpai! Stop fooling around! You're expecting me to believe you went from the human equivalent of an protozoan to a total hottie? This is an illusion, isn't it?" She grabs Rikishi by the collar. "Or did that panty thief pay you to do this? Whatever it is, you're not fooling me."
Quite possibly, that man is just lazy. After all, there's a gaggle of students willing to do it on their own time for him.
That doesn't inspire my confidence in the teaching staff here... With certain instructors being 'eccentric' as-is, Luna couldn't help but wonder about the next 3 years at this school.
While Luna was thinking about the corruption, the definitely-not-a-romcom scenario with Rikishi went on in the background.

At the suspicious eyebrow-raises multiplying towards him, she pouts, "Hey; he may be a bit, uh... carefree... But he isn't evil! katsuya swears it!" She nods at herself.

She looks down at the imitation gold tube and pops the cork to see what's in it, then replaces said cork.
"He ran off really fast. What's up with this water?"
She holds it out for nobody in particular, but with a definite bent towards Hanami.
"Holy water? What are we supposed to do? Wouldn't watering evil plants make them stronger?"
For the first time around her new peers, the dragon girl seems genuinely puzzled by events. She looks up from the tube to Rikishi, though still down overall, and she stares at him for several seconds. Unlike princesses, handsome boys cause no particular excitement in Sumeryu. Since when do dragons care about princes except to eat them? Never! That's when!
Well there was Kaguya-hime, but her beau was a monk, not a prince.
Anyway.
"So the map in your cookie said to go here?" she prompts Ibuki, ignoring Rikishi for the moment. Her obliviousness comes across as nonchalant social mastery through subtle and active body language, in particular in how she stands with one knee slightly bent and her hand on her hip.
"Well if you are vouching for him Katsuya i have no reason to suspect him, we all have our secrets Afterall. On to other matters i believe you said the source of this corruption would be easier to find at but more powerful yes? if it seems we are close to its source i think we should take it down now before it becomes fully night where its at its strongest no? this would also prevent any one else falling victim to these plants"
Luna spoke out of concern for her newfound friends. While she was experienced with carrying out exorcisms, she couldn't be sure how everyone else would fair fighting the corruption.
She lets go of Rikishi's collar and faces everyone. "Ahem... Sorry for the distraction. I personally think we should take the source of the corruption down now before anyone else gets hurt. However, if we proceed, we should do so with caution. I can't shake the feeling that we were led out here for a reason."
She puts her hands on her hips and huffs. "The teachers and staff haven't shown much in the way of responsible maturity, so it's up to us to prevent anybody else from being hurt, like that priest was."
Then, the gorgeous dragon girl flips her long red hair over her shoulder and declares, nonchalantly and with calm confidence, to both Luna and Hanami, "There's nothing to be afraid of. I'm here to protect you." If any of the fan club were around to witness that, at least half of them would have fainted.
"Which way?" she asks, already stepping forward to be the first into danger.
Finding the way forward was easy enough, even the magically uninclined could feel a heavy presence ahead.
After some more walking on the trail, they reach a lake, around 25 meters (or 80 feet) in diameter; well, it's a pretty marshy lake, one having to be careful not to sink on the mud around it, even if it's covered by grass.
The crescent moon shines eerily over the still water, and old willows' shadows added to the ominous tone.
But then, the water's stillness is broken!
The enemy's go first!
A great frog bursts out of the water! It measures around 10 meters (or 30 feet) in height!
As he does, he opens his big mouth, and a sticky tongue sprouts out! Finding Luna! Maybe she looks yummier or something... And so, (unless her defense roll is higher than 8) pulls her by the leg towards his gaping mouth!
With his front legs, he also throws a big ball of mud at the remaining girls!

I didn't manage my spell notes as well as I should have, so I'm going to assume that some of the buffs (like Iron Will) got dispelled at some point when she was in the mall. So right now her only ongoing spells would be Invisibility from the morning (ritual casting to reduce END cost), and the thing she cast on Rikishi (also ritual). However, she only had 5 END left when she went into the changing room, so it's not clear how much END she should have recovered by now, even after releasing most of the END-tapping Spells. (Note, there were some other expenditures, like for the multi-target attack.)
How much END should she have at the start of the combat, @Moyreau?
Oh, and is turning invisibility on considered an Action for the purpose of actions done in a turn?

"What? Eeeeeeh!!" No sooner than Luna had heard the warning that a thick, slimy tongue burst out of the lake and wrapped itself around Luna's legs. At the other end of the tongue was a massive frog. Or was it a toad? She didn't have time to look at it as she got dragged through the mud. With only one chance to take action, Luna pulled a barrier talisman from her breast pocket. She flung it directly in front of her, aiming for the frog's mouth.

She drops the barrier and takes note of the situation. Surely a giant frog calls for a giant bird? Drawing magic from the atmosphere and the ground, she points her wand upward and collects the gathered energy at the tip. She fires it off into the air, where it bursts into a large magical circle that hangs over the lake. From the magic circle, a giant hawk is summoned.

"Only ten meters?" She scoffs openly, just allowing the toad thing to make the first attack against her.
It doesn't just attack her, though! It attacks everyone! And doubly so Luna! She had planned to casually swat aside its mudblob attack with a secret weapon that probably isn't all that secret. Electricity sparked around her fingers and she pulled back her arm to throw lightning at the frog. That would, however, have been really bad for Luna's health. And Ibuki's. So instead, she leaps forward, using her diamond-cutting claws instead to swipe the the mudblob out of the air, jump onto the frog, and start ripping it apart by hand. Fortunately for Yokai Academy's broadcast age rating, the camera is focused on Luna instead of the evisceration.

Just as the frog's mouth is about to snap on her, Luna conjures a barrier with her talisman, and the frog instead snaps on the insurmountable dome! CRACK! If he had teeth, they'd certainly be shattered by now! As for her 12, I'll take the liberty to add the Effective perk to her barrier, making it have a DX of 1, so the frog takes 4 damage!
That being said, she's still trapped inside his mouth...
Hanami masterfully summons her familiar, like a pro-witch!
The bird descends at it's target, the talons scrape at it's flesh, but don't latch! 3 damage
His skin seems so slick and slimy that they can't land a square hit!
Enemy's turn
Having found not a soft and fleshy meal, but a jaw-shattering barrier in it's bite, the frog continues forcing his mandible shut, straining the barrier! Luna can keep the barrier against this attack and, if she commits her turn for keeping the barrier, she can roll with twice her Barrier ability, as for the rules. If she loses, the barrier gives in and she'll be definetly trapped inside it's mouth! Remember she can also spend endurance to fortify the barrier.
Meanwhile, the frog buck's his back, and from spores on his skin, throws big balls of acid on the other girls, like a mortar! It throws one ball for Hanami and Ibuki, another for Sumeryu and another for the bird. Being an area attack, they receive a -1 penalty on their defense.

Er.
An innocent person?
Yes, that. That is definitely why she doesn't like this.
"Let! Go! Of! Her!" the dragon girl demands, stentorian. She grabs the frog by its upper jaw and yanks forward, hard, to flip the whole creature overhead and force it to let go.
If it works, Luna will tumble head over heel, once, and then fall out of the frog's mouth thanks to gravity.
Rolls
Strong - (6d6)

The girls combo on the frog, Ling Jing freezing it in place with her powers, while Sumeryu yanks its mouth open and throws him, Luna is freed from his mouth! Well, Luna is falling from 10 meters height...
The frog didn't move, seemingly slayed!

"Anybody hurt?" she asks, looking around at the Magical Girl Combat Squad. Except Lin, who is super duper invisible.
Are we sure there are not more brutes outside the frog?
I'm sure it's just an accident...
However, not a moment later did Luna suddenly feel herself grow lighter as the frog was tossed high in the air. In the chaos of the launch, Luna felt the frog's tongue grow limp as the momentum forced her out of it's gaping mouth. But to make things worse, she was now face to face with the rapidly approaching ground.
"Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh" Her screams echoed across the lake as she fell.
Hmph, stabilize yourself already. You've jumped from higher before.
I-I know!
As Luna fell towards the ground, she could hardly make out anyone or anything below her. The darkness of night time meant that she would have to try and land on her own.
Rolls
Roll for landing! (+2 Agile) - (4D6)
(5112) = 9
As Hanami's looking around to assess everyone's conditions, she hears the weak cry of her giant hawk as it comes in for a landing. It crashes right next to her, fighting just to stay conscious.
"I'm sorry... I need you for a little while longer." Hanami holds out her wand and begins to cast a healing spell on her hawk. The acid burns start to fade and feathers begin to regrow to cover any exposed flesh.

"Get up high and show me what's happening," she commands her hawk. It obliges, taking to the skies with a flap of its powerful wings. She closes her eyes and taps into its senses as it surveys the area from above to check if any corruption remains.

"Uwah, that was terrible." Luna whined as the frog's saliva still covered her uniform. She would need to do laundry and dive into a bath asap after this. But all in all, she escaped the frog relatively unscathed. The only real damage seemed to be a few bruises caused by her companion's rough handling of the frog.
Hmm... it seems that was it for the corruption in this area, but let's check again. Luna pushed her palms together and said a quick prayer, hoping to get a positive response from the forest spirits.

Commune with forest spirts (+3 Spirit Medium) - (5D6)

The frog spot now smells like ozone. A significant improvement.
Then, since everyone is accounted for and nobody is injured as far as she can tell, Sumeryu waits next to Hanami, since the magical doctor girl is clearly doing some spellcasting whatsits that may reveal more butts that need kicking.
Meanwhile she continues cleaning mud off herself.

As she sees Ibuki though, she runs, now to her next target, "Waa!! T-that attack was amazing!!" She says, emulating one, "I had no idea you were so awesome!! Teach me! Teach me! Teach me!!"

Then she eyes Sumeryu, "M-miss Himeji, yours too?? Oh no, no way I'll find one on your number..."
"Eh... Y-you're quite scary when fighting, teehee..." She says, shyly.
"By the way, where's that other lady??"
She does have a smile for Katsuya, though.
"Thank you, Momochichi-san. I hope you weren't too scared. I have other clothes, but I'm happy you'd be concern for me.
Which other lady? You mean Jing-san? She's right over there. She can make herself disappear. It's very impressive!"
Sumeryu gestures in the now-visible Lin's direction without directly pointing at her.
"Dr. Matusyama, Luna-san, do you detect any more of the corruption that needs to be taken care of? I'm in favor of a bath myself."
"My famili- summon," she corrects herself, "didn't see any remaining corruption, Sumeryu. It looks like everything is back to normal. Good work, everyone. Except you, Rikishi." She levels a glare at him. Her wand sparks with electricity, a silent warning to keep his distance or face the consequences.
Hanami casts a mending charm on her own clothes. The stains and acid damage fade away in mere moments. "A bath sounds heavenly right now. But what about the map? I suspect Yukiha was behind it, but why?"
"An onsen? That sounds too convenient," Hanami says. "Though it would be really nice. Oh well. I'm getting out of here." Her hawk takes off into the night sky, heading in the direction of the academy.
Back in her room at the dorms, Hanami starts on her newest project: a magic mirror that can fulfill her need for a phone. Layering spells on herself to increase her effectiveness and efficiency, she works well into the night.
As for Hanami's Phone, she can make her Inventor roll, and see what she gets.

"So, Riki-chan, how's the first day wearing the new you? How does it feel to you - the body, the results?
I think you eased into the role with moderate success, and will get better at it over time. It was fun to see the hint of envy from Hanami. Though I think you're having more success by acting and looking fanciable than by the things you say. So, like, maybe try to strategically loosen your tie at the right moment instead of coming up with explanations relating to how special she is.
The monk and the dragon are probably not a viable audience for you. But I bet the fox and the tengu will grow to appreciate the new you. I'm actually very much looking forward to the tengu getting envious too. I want to one-up her after the Ao-chan incident!"
Also, she'll take some time trying to rebalance her youki flows and will get a good night's sleep later to let the restoration finish - would that be sufficient to 'reload' her TK Crush's 'Ammunition' (I used the Flaw to represent being able to use that technique a limited number of times before requiring extensive rest, but the rules are a bit ambiguous about whether this kind of rest is sufficient for refilling the charges).
Later, Hanami successfully creates her contraption, she now have a phone!
Rikishi takes note of Ling Jing advice, or at least seems to, rubbing his chin as he does.

"It's done... Welcome to the world, Athena! I'm your benevolent creator and mistress, Hanami Matsuyama. You better be worth the trouble, got it?" Tired as she is, Hanami still smiles triumphantly. However, she still needs to confirm the stability of Athena's personality and the functionality of her powers.
"Now, for your test run... I suppose you can start by showing me what Tojo-sensei is doing right now." Hanami simply picks the first name that comes up in her mind.
Rolls
Athena's Scrying, Iron-Willed (+0 bonus) - (7d6)

"Oh, hello there, Mistress Hanami! Thanks for creating me, I hope we get along, hehe~" The mirror said with the voice of a young and jovial woman, as it hummed.
After asking for that totally random name, without a reason at all, she says: "Oh... You naughty little witch, fufufu~ Very well, here's what you're want."
And at that, the mirror starts turning opaque, and then, an image appears! Hanami can see Ruby in a bathtub, filled with steamy water, her alluring figure covered by soap-foam, bubbles fill the quaint vintage bathroom, as she scrubs herself, singing a silly tune, with:
🎶 "Ruby-chan, Ruby-chan, sparkles in the night!~
Casting spells so dazzling, so bright!~
One swish, two swish, villains take flight!
But first, a bath to set things right!~" 🎶
&
🎶 "Ohhh, Ruby Tojo, the witch so fine!~
Dangerous, gorgeous, truly divine!~
With spells so grand and figure so demure,
Even the Headmaster won't resist my allure!~" 🎶
She finishes both stanzas with splashing water.

She grabs Athena and brings the sentient mirror up to her face, viewing the surface as closely as possible. Her face grows more and more red until she reaches a breaking point, steam rising from her head. Blood starts to trickle from her nose as less than pure thoughts emerge in her perverted mind.
"N... No more. I said, shut it off!" Hanami yelled. She covers her mouth. Oops. It's much too late to be shouting so loudly. When she's sure no one heard her, she uncovers her mouth. "I'll mark this run as... inconclusive. W-We'll need to test your abilities more. A lot more. For now though, I need to sleep..." After setting Athena on her nightstand, Hanami grabs some tissues from a nearby box and tends to her bleeding nose. She's left with plenty to dream about when she climbs into bed.
