Welcome to the game! I've created other threads here with an overview of how the game works, the starting characters you can choose from, and a few introductory scenarios we can pick from when we are ready to get started. I'm happy to answer any questions you have. :)

I'd love to play Percival Combustion or Lady Sheridan for the chapter, and if I need to go with a resident, probably Yazeba, Sal or Hey Kid. Although I like pretty much all characters, so if we want to switch things around, I'm happy to reconsider!

For the chapters, do we pick any of those? Purely on vibes, I like Lights Out, The Breakfast Feast, Another Rainy Day, Who Knows How a Garden Grows (green friends!) and Wash Cycle. I don't mind trying the others though, these are just the favourites! :D

Yes, you can play the chapters in any order you wish, so pick the one that you think will be the most fun. :)

Also, you're able to choose different characters for each chapter, so don't feel like you need to be beholden to any one or two in particular. Unless, of course, you like them so much you just want to keep playing them!

For chapters (going on FS's suggestions) I'd opt for either How a Garden Grows or Lights Out.

Looks like Garden or Lights Out are early favorites. We’ll wait for Drgwen to join to see her thoughts.

Drgwen still hasn't accepted the game invite. I sent a PM to see if they missed it.

In the meantime, I think "Lights Out" is a bit less complicated than "Who Knows How a Garden Grows," so I think that will be a better chapter to start with. I'll play Parish, so TheGenerator can play as Amelie and FlyingSucculent can play either Percival or anybody else of their choosing. I'll open the chapter thread here shortly.

We could either wait to officially start until Drgwen joins us, or get started and have them join in when they're able. It's up to you all. :)

Um, maybe? I haven't really used that feature yet. In my other game, I simply had a real deck of cards that I would draw from and then post which cards I drew! But I can play around with the decks here to see if it would be a viable way of doing things. Chiefly, I'm not sure if you can remove cards from a deck when it's time to reshuffle.

I haven't used the card deck before. Afaik, it's customizable but only in terms of a deck of playing cards. I'll also check it out when I have some time. Probably this weekend

I'm pretty sure reshuffling once again refills the deck to the starting one. But who knows, they're always making changes here.

OK I've read through all the materials you've posted, DMbrainiac, an this game is adorable!

For characters, I like Hey Kid and Viv the most, but I am also happy to try out others too, like Gertrude or Yola. For chapters, I think the Pensive ones are my favorites, but then again I love deep, emotional chats about finding my place in the world, like in After Dinner, which might be a little heavy for this game. So I think I'd be happy with just about any!

The pensive chapters are some of my favorites, too. While it’s a mostly lighthearted game, there are some heavier themes featured in certain chapters. The especially heavy ones come with a little warning tag.

But for now, we’re starting with an eerie chapter! Either Hey Kid or Viv would be a good choice for this chapter, so play whoever you would like. :)

I'm feeling Viv for this one! hey Kid would be more fun for a Frantic or Pensive one, I think.

Do we just start RPing in the lights out thread? Or should I still wait for something?

You can technically use custom deck - with scripts - and just edit it every time we reshuffle, but it's probably more hassle than it's worth.
Alternately, we can just do a numbered list of cards and roll the dice, shortening the list each time.
Or, and I think it's the simplest one, just leave the deck as it's and simply ignore card repeats. XD

I like getting philosophical at times, but I think it's best to start with something easy to get in the groove, you know? I'll absolutely be up for pensive chapters later!

Let me get up a post for Parish to kick things off and then you can start posting at your leisure. Tickettbror will be joining us here as well, so we will wait for them to get situated before we start looking for Omen cards.
