Borda watches the exchange with the small creature. Paying for things, how odd, he thinks to himself.

"Both then." The little creature says. It summons the bag again and takes out a crowbar made of a material you've never seen before, takes Jotna's money and hands it to her. It feels cool to the touch like stone, sturdy and heavy but not cumbersome.

"I suppose I can offer a small discount for good customers." It says with a wink and takes also a white flask out of the bag, the size of a large apple. Takes Merkari's silver and hands it over. "I'm sure these will come in handy when time comes."

It gives a small bow and with a slurping sound implodes into nothingness. The last thing you hear it say is "Until the next bargain."

You are left in the hallway with only the statues and paintings.

Do you continue onward?
OOC:
The crowbar is a weapon that can be extended to quarterstaff length. It is unbreakable. It does D6 damage.
The flask is a healing potion. It heals 1D6 HP and removes one affliction.

You know this after taking some time to have a good look at the item.
Don't forget to subtract the spent money :)

Jotna swings around the metal bar and mutters, "Not sure it's worth no 20 silver for an extendable metal bar, but... ok I guess. Seems pretty sturdy, at least..."

She heads toward the exit at the far end of the hallway.

"I got a healing potion!" Merkari says, giggling with glee. She moves to follow Jotna to the exit.

Borda waits to see if the statues react before following the others to the end of the of the hallway.

Elma

Elma follows the others, but in front of Borda as he waits to see how the statues react. As they pass by the statues, she squeaks a little and hurries past. She doesn't want to encounter any other mysterious beings in art today.

Perhaps to your surprise, the statues do nothing as you pass them.

You open the next door to reveal a large library filled with wall to wall bookshelves and books. A red-ish carpet lines the floor and it's eerily quiet here. A woman is carrying a stack of books and bringing them to various places as if sorting them. Then she picks up books from another shelf and shuffles them around. She completely ignores the 4 of you, even walking in between without acknowledging your existence.

As soon as everyone is inside the library, a loud crack as if from nearby thunder shakes the room. For a split second the room goes completely dark, as if the exact opposite of a lightning strike. Only those inside the library or hallway notice it. Books rain down from above as they have been shaken loose. In the hallway, the legs of one of the statues breaks and it topples forward, partially blocking the way back.
OOC:
Everyone must pass a DR8 Agility or Toughness check or take 1D2 damage from falling books and bookends.
As soon as she gets up again, the woman starts collecting the books on the floor and replacing them on shelves.

Elma

Elma halts inside the library, the smell of old paper being vaguely reminiscent of trees and she freezes in alarm. The woman brushes past her and she can only gape as the woman does not even acknowledge her visitors when suddenly the room goes dark and then books and other knick-knacks fall on their heads!

She jerkily dodges out of the way and steadies herself against a bookcase. The mysterious woman just gets back up and starts collecting the books, putting them back where they had fallen.

"H-how important is putting these b-books back? And where is the dining room?"

Elma looks suspiciously at the books and grabs a few nearby to put back on the nearest shelf.

You all manage to come out unharmed. Books are scattered around you, though the woman is busy cleaning them up. Still ignoring you all.

There is no reaction to Elma's question, but after looking around a bit, you do see another door along the same wall as the one where you came in. The room is a mirrored L-shape. Around the corner is nothing but more books and shelves.
OOC:
Anyone who picks up books or inspects a shelf, roll a D4

Elma shakes her head at the strange woman.

"I-I guess we can move on?"

She nods her head to the door out as she puts the last book in her arms on the shelf.

Jotna wonders aloud, "What manner of books are in this place, anyway?" She picks one up that struck her, looks at it, and tosses it aside (unless it looks interesting!)

Rolls

Book - (1d4)

Borda has no use for books or those who read them, unless they're his next mark. He will head towards the door.

Elma

As you put the last book on a shelf, you notice a piece of parchment between the 2 books next to it. Even though you can't read, somehow it appeals to you.
OOC:
You find a scroll. Anyone who can read will be able to tell you it's a sacred scroll.
The found spell is: False Dawn/Night’s Chariot: Light or pitch black for 3d10 minutes.
Jotna

You toss the book and it falls to the ground open on a specific page that looks odd. It's not just words arranged in a line, but also has symbols and strange drawings and perhaps runes. It appears you have stumbled onto an unclean spell written in a book.
OOC:
You have found the spell: Palms open the southern Gate: A ball of fire hits d2 creatures dealing d8 damage per creature.
Borda, in the mean while has already opened the next door.
You step into a lovely large dining room. Just as the other rooms you've visited, it's well decorated and gives a cozy feeling. The windows show sunlight just as in the entrance hall. A large table is standing in the middle of the room just in front of the doorway. It is filled with plates, cutlery and the like as well at a buffet of tasty looking and smelling food.

At the end of the table sits a lady in a white, billowing dress. Her blond hair has been styled in a fancy up-do and she's wearing many types of jewelry encrusted with gem stones. Even though she has a radiant and disarming smile, she gives off a sense of authority. She gestures to you to take a seat at the table.

To the left of you, away from the door, you see 8 bunk beds. Some of which seem to be occupied by someone.

What does everyone do?

Rolls

Which sacred scroll? - (1d10)

(7) = 7

Which unclean scroll? - (1d10)

(1) = 1

Jotna stops when she sees something interesting on the page. She picks the book back up and studies it, then heads into the dinging room. Once there, she eyes the lady, the bunks and other folks, and then the table. She shrugs and mutters, "Sure, why not. I've been down a loo today. I can face a fancy dinner." She sits half way down the table.
OOC:
How's the spell work? One use? Do I roll to activate? Etc
