Character Creation

Tymun was a long time trap engineer at a well known dwarven trap company but was laid off during a restructuring. The job was his whole life and he did not go quietly so he ended up black listed from any future work.

So he decided to be an Xcrawler as a way to make money and to embarrass his former company by disabling and revealing all their trap secrets!

@spaceseeker19 How's your character coming? Everyone else has submitted so we are almost ready to start.

@nezzeraj - I've submitted what I have so far. I'll need leveling tables, and probably help with other things, too. The Gamma rules that I'm using are very light on chargen details.

A few remaining questions:
1) Are our supplies provided by our sponsor, or do we start with equipment of our own?
2) A Messenger represents a deity, but there's no deities listed in the Gamma rules. Should I make up one of my own, or is there a list specific to this game?
3) Messengers have Holy Acts, but no spells, correct? So I can delete the spell section on my character sheet?
4) Some of the other players have mentioned occupations, and that is something listed on the DCC character sheet. What are my options there (another thing not included in the Gamma rules), or is it not important?

1. You start with an adventuring kit, plus 350g to buy weapons and items. But let's just use the money to bump your weapon and armor to +1s. You can get items from sponsors if you pick a sponsor that supplies weapons like Phang Blades.

3. Yes, no spells, feel free to delete that.
4. Occupations are d100 random roll. The list is too long to capture in an image so just roll and I'll tell you what it is.

Phang Blades
The Good News: If the PCs choose Phang, then the weapons sponsor equips them with all new quality weapons. Each PC gets a temporarily magical +1 version of their primary melee weapon; the weapon’s enchantments fades at the end of the Xcrawl season, downgrading them to mundane, but high quality, weapons. If the PC uses a shield, they gain a shield that is +1 to hit and damage if used as a weapon, but gives only the standard bonus to AC.

The Bad News: The contract obligates the PCs to use nothing but Phang melee weapons and shields for this entire adventure. If they have magical weapons gained from other adventures (specifically any omni weapons), they have to leave them at home.

That Danko Jones song is the best Xcrawl theme I could've imagined. By GM fiat I say this your theme song lol.

I had never heard that song and had the same thought. In fact, I’m emailing Brendan LaSalle right now.

I cast my now symbolic vote for "Good Time" as well. I can definitely hear it playing during the walk out.

As far as team names, I like Houston Hexcrawlers and Riverrun Raiders but I'd be fine with any mentioned.

For the sponsor weapons, I'm pretty rusty with DnD style weapons. Being +1 and magical are 2 separate things right? So having to use a +1 magical weapon is better than a +2 weapon? I know the sponsorship forces us to use their weapons but wanted to ask for my own understanding.

Glad to see such an ethusiastic reception for DK's music. Plus, think it shows we're all on the same page about the tone of this project ;)
