OOC:
Spending 2 sorcery points to regain spell slot, then casting Magic Missile at Grimlock 9. I don't know if in the middle of all this I can still attempt to stabilize. I doubt it, but including a Medicine check just in case. Forgot the +1's on the damage dice. Total damage is 13, I believe.

Jandral crouches down to stanch Rodrick's wounds. Then he grabs the fallen man's legs to pull him to safety and pull him to safety but to his horror one of the grimlocks starts dragging Rhodrick away!

OOC:
Stabilizing Rhodrick will take an action. Which of your actions would you like to keep, the Magic Missiles or the stablization?
Apr 13, 2017 7:44 pm
OOC:
Let's go with stabilization. Edited my post above.
Apr 13, 2017 7:53 pm
Rhodrick is stabilized, and is now in a wishbone situation as both the grimlock and Jandral attempt to lay claim to him.
OOC:
Rhodrick no longer has to make a Death Save, but he is still unconscious at 0 hit points.

Parallel hacks at Gr2 with his blades, then disengages and moves to X12, hoping to get some to follow as he picks them off with his bow...and allowing the spellcasters to have a nice cluster of goons to blast.

OOC:
An attack with the dagger will use up a bonus action, preventing you from disengaging.

OOC:
Right! Can I eliminate the dagger attack? Otherwise, I'll try to hang in there for another round.

Haesh continues on in his assault. He can feel the pain of the last few blows through his armor, but his adrenaline begins surging through his body which helps him push past the pain. He aims his next swing at Grimlock-10.

Both Parallel's shortsword and Haesh's warhammer find their marks. The halfling dances away from the melee and puts some distance in-between, entering into the tunnel.
OOC:
If Parallel prefers moving, I will ignore his dagger attack.

Actions left to take:
Golwen

Thanks, guys! I guess it's a little late to show the note I passed to Jinn
Note to Jinn24
Don't do anything heroic! Disengage and fall back to help the others. I'll start making these saves, lol.
I do appreciate the help, though :)

OOC:
Sorry I've been absent guys.
Golwen retreats with Parallel back to the bottleneck, opening a gout of arcane flame into the face of their nearest adversary as he does.
OOC:
Move to X13 and Firebolt at Gr2.

Rolls

Firebolt / Dmg - (1D20+6, 1D10)

1D20+6 : (14) + 6 = 20

1D10 : (1) = 1

The fire bolt singes Grimlock2, but it remains standing. Both it and its ally (Grimlock5) pursue Paralle and Golwen into the narrowed tunnel. The two grimlocks, now free of obstruction, charge forward. Golwen manages to lean back and avoid the swing of Grimlock5, but Parallel suffers another hit as Grimlock2 strikes with its club (17 vs AC, 7 bludgeoning + 4 piercing = 11 damage).

Grimlock8 sees an opening, and steps towards Jandral. It launches an attack, but the half-elf barely manages to lean out of the way despite his own awkward posture. Meanwhile, its allies (Grimlock6, Grimlock7, and Grimlock11) maneuver their way around the mob.

Haesh finds himself the sole target of four grimlocks. He is beginning to understand their attack pattern, and deftly blocks the incoming clubs with his shield, slapping aside the last strike with his hammer.

Grimlock9 tries to come away with its prize, pulling at Rhodrick's body against Jandral's grip.
OOC:
Player turn!

Jandral, make an Athletics check versus the grimlock.

Jandral doesn't resist. He goes limp, olays dead, and lets himself be dragged along behind Rhod. After all, how else is he going to get out of there?

Rolls

Deception - (1d20+7)

(9) + 7 = 16

Parallel, holding on with the last of his strength, takes two desperate swings with sword and dagger, looking for critical spots on the Grimlocks.

Rolls

Offhand dagger, damage - (1d20+6, 1d4)

1d20+6 : (1) + 6 = 7

1d4 : (1) = 1

Shortsword, damage, snk atk dmg - (1d20+6, 1d6+4, 1d6)

1d20+6 : (14) + 6 = 20

1d6+4 : (1) + 4 = 5

1d6 : (6) = 6

Parallel's hand feels tingly and numb, and despite his best efforts he is unable to effectively thrust with his dagger. However, his shortsword finds purchase, slipping under the grimlock's arm and biting deep into its heart. He watches as the lifeless grimlock falls forward, club clattering to the ground.

Jandral loses his grip on Rhodrick as the grimlock yanks the body away. As the sorcerer plays dead, the grimlock that attacked him leans forward and Jandral can hear a wet, sniffling sound, like an animal inspecting the body. Unable to see what the grimlock doing, Jandral can only feel a rough hand grab him by the arm and start to pull.

OOC:
Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear: even though Jandral doesn't fight a tug-of-war with the grimlock he keeps holding onto Rhod so that 1) he gets dragged out of the circle of attackers, and 2) he and Rhod aren't separated. That's the hope/intention, anyway. If that's not possible then it's ok, I'll run with whatever you decide. :-)

OOC:
Give me an Athletics check to hold on. The grimlock rolled a 13.
Apr 19, 2017 6:19 pm
Jandral tries to hold on...

Rolls

Athletics - (1d20+1)

(16) + 1 = 17

Golwen, his heart racing, not comfortable with being this close to the front lines, unleashes a bolt of fire straight into the face of the creature before him.

Rolls

Firebolt / Dmg - (1D20+6, 1D10)

1D20+6 : (8) + 6 = 14

1D10 : (9) = 9

Apr 19, 2017 11:22 pm
The grimlock holding Rhodrick grunts as there is more weight than expected. It sniffs the air and senses that its ally has a hold of possibly the same thing, and utters something that Golwen can understand. The other grimlock, holding onto Jandral's limp body, replies in a similar tongue.

However, Golwen has problems of his own. Pressed into melee, the wizard flings a Fire Bolt into the face of his opponent. Despite the close proximity, there is a small blast of flame that causes the grimlock to howl.
