Parallel would like to shift to AA16 to be over 30' away from melee range, but close enough to bop in to take pot shots.

Parallel retreats back around the corner as Golwen's fiery missile streaks out. Unfortunately, the close proximity of the grimlock throws off Golwen's aim and the Fire Bolt impacts the cavern wall in the distance.

Golwen and Haesh are swarmed by grimlocks. Two attack the wizard while three go after the warrior. Golwen flinches out of the way of one spiked club, but a second catches him in the ribs (22 vs AC, 4 bludgeoning + 2 piercing = 6 damage). Haesh, meanwhile, successfully fends off the flurry of blows with his shield.

Jandral and Rhodrick continue to be dragged westward.

Golwen had a shield spell (reaction) readied in case he got hit. Can he not use that against the hit he took?

It would not have saved you from the hit, as it only provides a +5 bonus to AC, so I decided you can save the spell slot. Did you want to cast the spell anyway?

Golwen, feeling the deep pain of too many absorbed blows, knows when he's more of a liability than an aid. He disengages himself from the melee, never a good place for him to begin with, and hurriedly retreats back to Parallel's location.

Parallel moves up to the corner (aa13) again, and shoots an arrow at Gr7, then retreats back around the corner (z15) and hides.

As the wizard retreats, his presence is replaced by a swift arrow that pierces through Grimlock7's knee. It howls in pain and drops to a crouch, clutching its wounded leg.

Haesh disengages from the grimlocks assaulting him, and takes up a position in the tunnel. He uses the confines to limit the angles of attack, though by himself he does not pose much of a roadblock.

The severely wounded grimlocks take the opportunity during Haesh's withdrawal to make their own retreat, stumbling and crawling westward into the cavern. The other grimlocks press in on Haesh, but in their eagerness they do not take much advantage of the lone warrior's stance and only two of the four can engage for now. Both attacks are thwarted by Haesh's shield.

Jandral continues to play dead, and he and the unconscious Rhodrick continue to be dragged.

Parallel pops over to the corner and looks to see Haesh holding them off! He shoots at Gr11, then retreats back to his hidey hole.

"Well done Haesh! I hope I can lighten your load..."

Another grimlock howls and falls to one knee as the arrow zips past Haesh's thigh and buries itself into the creature's leg.

Jandral decides he has waited enough, and springs into action. He unloads a barrage of magical missiles at the grimlock that has him by the legs, hoping to make the creature release him so he can make a run for it. As the darts hit the grimlock Jandral scrambles to his feet.
OOC:
If the creature releases it hold (or if Jandral is allowed to attempt an Acrobatics check to escape) then he will risk the OA and try to make a run for it. In any case, even if he's still grappled, he'll rise from prone.

Totally unprepared for an attack by the 'corpse,' the grimlock is blasted nearly in two by the magical darts. It falls to the ground, twitching, and Jandral is easily able to rise and move.
OOC:
Left with 1 hit point, it's basically out for the count. Where does Jandral want to move to (half-movement to stand + difficult terrain = 1 square movement)?

Haesh continues to retreat along with Parallel and Golwen.

Golwen steps forward to cover Haesh's retreat, peeking around the corner and launching a Fire Bolt at the wounded grimlock. The flames explode into the creature's chest and it falls lifelessly backward. Golwen then withdraws back as Haesh catches up.

Three grimlocks chase down Haesh and come around the corner, throwing themselves against the warrior's shield in an effort to bring him down. Though nearing exhaustion, Haesh is able to deflect and swat aside their attacks.

The severely-wounded grimlocks maintain their own retreat, bloodied and burned.

Rhodrick continues to be dragged away, while the grimlock that once held Jandral lies wheezing on the cavern floor.
