Khel grudgingly nodded, "Well, since we don't know about any alternate route to enter, I guess frontal entry will be the best. But, we must atleast try to find a pattern to avoid most of the patrol."
May 6, 2025 3:17 pm
Nodding, "Aye, a pattern would be good, lessen the amount of arrows in Wess, if anything." with his own grin at the dwarf.
May 6, 2025 11:56 pm
Wess gives a smirk "Didn't realize you all cared so much. Let's go scout what we can, but with all we've done already, I'm surprised they don't know we're here."

OOC:
Assuming you are waiting for the patrol to move to the back before rushing forward. Getting past the bridge requires 15 inches of movement. Most of you have a pace of 6 with a running die of d6 (maxing out at 12 so you can't cross in one action. The enemies can't see you until you enter the bridge (assuming you're hiding at the edge of the thistles for now). Drawing Action Cards so we can do it in order, if you want to hold your action to let someone else pass for now, let me know. Will update with order soon.

You all can act before the goblins (the goblin dogs drew well, but can't see you at all) so you can decide who will try the bridge first and who will stay back.

You can attempt a Stealth vs the goblins Perception rolled below to remain unseen (representing a moment the goblins are distracted).

The goblins in the tower have medium cover (-4 to hit) and would be 18' away from you.

Edit: And Khel drew a joker so you all gain a bennie and Khel receives a +2 bonus to any actions this round.

Looking at Saldrina and Khel, "Do either of you have anything that can help us here? Make us harder to hit or hurt less, that sort of thing?"
OOC:
Do either of the mages have protection, deflection, or boost/lower trait? If so, now would be a good time to cast it!
May 7, 2025 1:06 pm
OOC:
I know Saldrina has Protection. Will let you cast any non agressive spells you like before the first round just be aware of duration if you decide to cast several spells in a row. Protection can be extended to several targets for one PP per target, saving the need to cast multiple spells.
May 7, 2025 1:41 pm
Khel looked at others and said, "Unfortunately, I don't have any direct protection spell. The one that I have protects you from spell effects. I will try to take out the goblin in the tower. Master Wess, you start moving as soon as I release the firebolt against it. I will start crossing the bridge once I fire at the goblin."

Once the firebolt was released, Khel started to cross the bridge, hoping others would follow.
OOC:
Spending 3 pp to cast bolt at extra damage. So +2 from joker and +1 from staff gives +3, which reduces the difficulty to -1. Spending the benny to regain pp.

"Appreciate it." Grim remarks to Saldrina, feeling a protective force envelope him.

The halfing laughs as he sees the bolt of fire shoot across, "So much for being stealthy!", and starts bounding down the bridge. In a small recess of his mind though he prays that it holds them all.

Wess barley waits for Saldrina to finish casting the spell before giving her a nod of thanks, and taking off across the bridge.
OOC:
I was hoping for Wess to be in front, since he is the toughest/hardest to hit.

OOC:
done!
May 8, 2025 8:20 am
Khel stops any attempt at stealth by instantly killing one of the two goblins in the tower. The other shrieks in surprise.

Then envelops the group in a field of protective energy.

With the group in a defensive energy field, Wess and Grimwulf charges forward, the bridge swaying and groaning under the weight.
OOC:
Chigaru left to act.
May 8, 2025 2:00 pm
Seeing everyone else rush first, Chigaru holds back and decides to cross last. Being the largest of the bunch, he didn't dare cross the bridge and add his weight until all of the others are across.
May 9, 2025 6:38 am
Chigaru holds back for now.

Shalelu moves to the edge of the cliff and fires her bow at the remaining goblin in the tower. Though the shot goes wide, lodging the arrow in the wall far beneath where the goblin stands.

You hear the goblin has activated a bell and starts yelling "Alarm! Alarm! Longshanks at the wall!"

It raises a bow and fires an arrow at Wess. The arrow gets uncomfortably close and lodges itself into the woodwork right between Wess’ feet.

From around the corner of the keep you can hear yapping and you see a goblin rushing forward with a goblin dog chained up in front of it. Seeing you, it drops the chain and says something in goblin to the overgrown rat (for that is in fact what a goblin dog is).

You can hear more yapping.
OOC:
Will draw action cards for a new round in the next post.

May 9, 2025 6:50 am
The released goblin dog rushes forward at Wess, reaching the bridge. You sense its weight adding to Wess' and Grimwulf's weight and sway uncomfortably.
OOC:
You can all act. I took the liberty of letting the goblin dog act before Chigaru as I don't think it would change much. You can act as if it's not there yet if you wish.

Another Joker was drawn so you all get a bennie and Chigaru receives a +2 bonus to any tests.

The dog is 11' from the ranged people at the back of the bridge. Wess is 9' from reaching the other side (means he has to roll a 4 on his running die to make it). If you aren't able to deal with the dog by then, it will get a free attack if you rush right past. I don't think Savage Worlds movement is over if you stop and attack, though if running you do receive a -2 penalty for multiple actions.

"Rush the dog!" the half-orc bellows now that their cover is truly blown. "We need to cross quickly! No more than two on the bridge at a time!"
May 9, 2025 1:56 pm
Saldrina holds back, knowing that she will be more useful as support than in melee. She concentrates and hurls a blast of compressed air at the goblin "dog", putting some extra power behind it to increase the potential.

The dog makes a pained yelp as it is slain. The air knocking it off the bridge and down into to the water far below.

Spurred on by Chigaru, Grim continues down the bridge as quick as he can, with a playful shout to Wess, "Get a move on it!"

Khel started moving in order to cross the bridge and reach the other side. He hoped that aerial windburst was enough to take out the goblin dog. He then fires another firebolt towards the goblin.
OOC:
So, I think Khel has reached the other side. Spending another 3 pp to shoot at the goblin. Rerolling for specialization and spending benny to recover pp.
