"Remember, it's about solving the puzzles, not murdering everything!" Butch shouts to his teammates, as he tries to reach the box closest to him. Hopefully it'll contain something useful that will help the group tackle this situation quicker.

Ok just pick if it's the south or east corner so I know which box has been interacted with.
Butch bonks the box with his head and it makes a bwoing! sound like a video game sound effect. A cartoon flame holographic pops out of the box and lands on Butch. A fireball appears in one of his hands, hovering just above his palm. The box he hit drains of color and becomes shades of grey, clearly now inert.
OOC:
Buch gains a fireball ranged attack, doing 3d6 damage with a 30' range (half the distance of the rooftop) to a single target. If thrown, a new fireball will appear. This effect lasts until the end of this combat.

When Gabe smashes his box, a graphic pops out of the top reading: "+1,000 GP!," then disappears a second later. On the scoreboard, a field pops up reading "BONUS GOLD," next to the Houston Hexcrawler's logo and 1,000 GP has been added to your winnings. Unlike Butch's box, this one does not grey out and it seems as if it can be hit again.

"Crap! Alright, let’s do this!" Vi Vi says, rummaging through her pack once her knees stop aching from the turtles impacting so close to her small body.

"Smoke bomb!" she cries, and then tosses it in front of one of the large turtles, hoping that it will slowly have to maneuver out of the smoke for a while!

"Well ladies and gentleman, the second event has started! Our lovely Rosie the Riveting has been creative with this crawl! She has dropped three armored war turtles armed with ballista on their spiked shells from a cargo plane along with three mystery boxes! Poor Vi Vi was knocked unconscious for a moment but Bole the messenger has got her back to her feet. Tymun scoured the rooftop and found the trapdoor in the east. Callan has wisely used some spells to boost his teammates although it appears one fizzled. Gabe and Butch headed for two of the three boxes. Gabe found the multi-use LootBox and has won his team 1000 gold on his first hit! Butch found the FirePower box and now controls a magical ball of flame! Callan meanwhile has scored a direct hit with his signature Spellweaver Blast! Vi Vi has gone the tactical route and used a smoke bomb to engulf the turtle. It will have a hard time aiming its ballista now! Oh dear gods in Mount Olympus, this has taken a sudden turn! The second turtle has missed all of its shot but the third turtle, Big Spike Daddy, has just taken out two Hexcralwers! Poor Callan has been impaled on the war turtle's shoulder spikes while Bole has been skewered through the torso by the heavy ballista spear! That's two Hexcralwers down! Let's hope the team can salvage this quickly!"

Yikes! Callan takes 15 damage and Bole 14, which I believe drops both of them. Correct me if I missed anything. They have until round 4 to be healed. Tymun and Sassafras are up!

Sassafras knows what she must do, but is shaking with adrenaline. She recalls her mentor, Weird Uncle B, and his advice, "Forget that calm breathing shit! Stay amped and rock-n-roll!" This boosts her up. She uses her acrobatic flair to leap onto the back of the nearest turtle and tries to disable the ballista during its reload phase.

Tymun pulls a grappling hook and rope out of his pack and starts twirling it around as he runs toward the last box. As he gets near, he launches the hook at the box, hoping the rope will make it easier for him to climb.

Tymun hooks the box and climbs up to touch it. A glowing graphic mushroom falls down on him. Upon impact it sends a rainbow of digital confetti over him. Tymun grows to twice his height! The box turns grey just as his head bonks it from his sudden growth spurt.
OOC:
Tymun is enlarged 100%, and gets +4 to attacks, damage, AC, and +10 hp. This effect lasts for the entire encounter.

Sassafras puts her acrobatic skills to use by leaping upon the spiked back of one of the war turtles. With tools out, she quickly disarms the firing mechanism, rendering one ballista inoperable!

Round 2, everyone except Tymun and Sassafras are up!

"Frick, frick, frick!" the gnome says, as she sees the ballistas skewer her friends all of a shot!

The smoke bomb kept fizzling, but it wouldn’t be enough. Vi Vi was small, and fast! She could move around so fast they’d never be able to get her!

"Hey, dorks! Over here! Take a shot at me!" she says, sticking her tongue out and then starting evasive maneuvers!

Gabriel throws a wistful look at the box, teasingly hovering there in the air with promises of even more wealth.

But gold is no use if you're too dead to spend it. He notes Sassafras success at disabling one of the ballistae. A good sign, let her keep doing what she does best. Butch is apparently a firebender suddenly? And is that a giant dwarf?

Seems they've got this under control. More than him, at least. So while mumbling "Pleasedon'tshootmepleasedon'tshootme..." repeatedly under his breath, he runs into the center of the arena to help his fallen comrades.

Ok awesome. Bole is stabilized and is back at 1hp. He takes -4 to all rolls for 1 hour and loses -1 from a physical stat as a permanent injury. The -4 penalty can be removed when magically healed.

Sassafras, you can burn mojo as well, but mojo has to be spent before the roll.
