So, I lived in Boston for six years and Providence for two, and that map is absolutely inspired by north Boston and the Charles River. And that house is in Providence! I used to jog past it. Lovecraft lived in Providence and is buried there, after all! I visited his grave, in fact.

I’ve always wondered what the inspiration was. It’s clearly drawing on Lovecraft’s original drawing of Arkham, but fitted into another location that has a Miskatonic-like river.
