So, I lived in Boston for six years and Providence for two, and that map is absolutely inspired by north Boston and the Charles River. And that house is in Providence! I used to jog past it. Lovecraft lived in Providence and is buried there, after all! I visited his grave, in fact.

OK fellow investigators, let's brainstorm what our next move could be here!
-King summons us to investigate his pilot friend Harrington, who had promised him photos of something exciting but dreadful.
-the farmer witness, Hare, has seen Harrington's plane circling over the end of the merchant district near the graveyard. (we know the pilot was taking aerial photos). Hare has seen the plane falling into the river after being surrounded in a green glow. He spotted speedboats from the Docks going for the plane in the river.
-we spot a strange creature by the graveyard (and Emma had read about ghouls in Hare's books - some Arkham families might be tainted with ghoul blood, from the Merchant District)
-at the docks, we learn that O'Bannion and his smugglers rescued the pilot from the river. O'Bannion took care personally of some personal effects of the pilot (now we know that among those effects was the photographic camera Harrington was using). O'Bannion's men took Harrington to St Mary's hospital
-at the hospital Harrington is in a state of confusion, and shows a greenish complexion. He mentions to "show King". We find a map with a red line from Arkham Airfield to the North-West of town, labelled 'LOS on mystery light' (Line Of Sight?)
-we know Harrington was in debt. Relevant?
Have I forgotten/missed anything?
I think possible avenues of investigation could be:
-going back to King to inform him of Harrington's whereabouts and condition. Also show him the map with the red line (is that what Harrington wanted us to show King?)
-the graveyard itself, best visited by day
-the Merchant District west side, near the graveyard, where the pilot focus seemed to concentrate. Ask for witnesses. They wouldnt have seen the plane crash, covered by hangman's hill, but maybe the mistery light mentioned in the map
-is there an Observatory? maybe astronomists have seen something anomalous
-newspaper archive research on the families living in the Merchant District?
-there is also the O'Bannion route, but it is a dangerous course of action. Find an underworld contact to approach him?
-photo labs: maybe O'Bannion would use the services of a lab to develop the pilot's photos?
anything else we could look into?

Thanks for this great summary! I think the most important avenue is to investigate the graveyard and area near it, where the pilot was photographing. We could go back to King, but I'm guessing that Harrington wanted to give him the photos, not the map. Perhaps someone didn't want Harrington taking and sharing those photos, so they zapped his plane with... green light? A poison cloud? Vile sorcery?? Unsure. I'd also guess that both King and O'Bannion have at least an inkling of what is going on here. Otherwise King wouldn't have employed Harrington to investigate and O'Bannion wouldn't have personally taken the camera and other personal effects of the pilot. So we could go talk to both of them, but King probably already told us most of what he knows, and O'Bannion is dangerous.

wonder if O'Bannion simply thought to get the camera (and the photos within) to protect his smuggling operation. Someone was taking aerial pictures near where his speedboats were active. In fact, could he be responsible for shooting down the plane? Could he have some green ray technology, that was used to eliminate the plane? a bit far-fetched...
Harrington definitely knows King's interest in the outre' - so the photos he was trying to get for King must be of that nature...

Will post In Character later today, but for now: I suggest seeing King, and leaving the graveyard for tomorrow morning - that way we don't run into the chance of being stuck there at night.

I am sure King wouldn’t mind another visit if you are going down that route….

Oh ok so King knew nothing. Hmm, not sure why we'd need to visit him then. My vote is cemetery before dusk. Then, if all else fails, O'Bannon.

Maybe we could do two things, reaching King by telephone to inform him (he will want to go and see his friend in hospital), then heading to the Cemetery if still enough light left in the day.
Alternatively, we postpone the Cemetery and use the rest of the day to ask around the Merchant District. Cemetery the next morning.

I think the camera is the safer way to get information. If we visit O'Bannion and get the camera back, that might get us the info we need much safer than visiting the cemetery.

Why don't we try the photo lab route first. Even safer than approaching O'Bannion.
Melody was an amateur photographer, among her other hobbies, she can have some contacts in the field (she has some Rating in Photography, and an Occupational benefit : You may use your Credit Rating pool to call on personal connections in any field of endeavor. These contacts will generally be relatives, old schoolfellows, and similar people of your social class.)
I think we might get to the photos that way - or at least try!
