Ah, I shall endeavour to toss some coins or something then. Apologies this is my first campaign and I worry about being stupid / overposting etc (and need help by saying light is touch 😂)
You could try doing what I did, take another level of Exhaustion and from a 1st level Fog Cloud. If we time it right and Tovrunn passes through it I could do the Entangled idea.

This is, of course, assuming that the enemies decide to go through said cloud. Which, given where we are, seems unlikely.
I was thinking that but a 20ft cloud didn’t seem much impediment unless it’s through a gap in a wall a crossing of some sort. Will defo try if something comes up (or if I can use shatter or another storm ability at an opportune / thematic moment)

Oh, bear in mind that I am a long time DM/GM, and I have long been a proponent of adjusting the availability of rests to tweak the difficulty. I am fully impressed in DM Stryker's management of our rests. My point is that another balancing concern is not to drag it out too long, or it takes its toll on players' morale... Unless that is your intention... I am waiting for the payout! ;)

Just random thoughts

- I am treating this as it was in the not so distant past; animals are animals, not pets. Horses are transportation. No one in the real world would think twice about shooting out the tires or destroying the engines of the 20 cars following you. Besides, horses are a little bit bigger than a man on its back.

- I didn't understand the rouge-y comment. Were you saying that the group could use a Rogue right now? If you are looking for sneak attacks against the riders, someone with a long pointy stick and riding a tank could wait then try to pick the baddies of from the rear. But, where would one hide? And wouldn't it be rather questionable for a knight to attack from the rear?

The description of the landscape reminds me of the terrain just east of the city of Indianapolis, Indiana because it's so flat. Even those fields had dips and rises big enough to hide in or behind. Yup, I'm a Yankee from the USA.

Again, just thoughts; not targeting anyone.

My character is somewhat akin to a druid. Hence, his hesitancy in targeting the animals. Just FYI. Your character does not know Corson, so it is understandable.

All of those are fair, and if you'd like a friendly response, speaking only for myself of course:

- that's a perfectly valid way of seeing this, and you aren't necessarily wrong, but maybe Noellins sees it differently. If it's off the table for him then it's off the table for him.

- yes, I'm saying that the group could use a Rogue right now, and not just for mechanical reasons. Putting yourself in the headspace of a rogue usually opens up the kinds of options that a character is willing to do, allowing them to do things that more straight-laced characters can't or won't. We are in dire need of some options right now lol.

- never been to Indiana, my point of reference is the Texas Panhandle. Agonizingly flat, that stretch of country is.

New Zealand's a hilly country, and when I was road tripping around the US a few (...ten plus... elderly wheeze...) years ago when we were driving through Florida and the midwest for the first time in my life I felt something akin to agoraphobia. Those endless, featureless horizons. Whenever we passed a hill or feature I'd find myself watching it until it was out of sight just to break up the void.
