Kish edges away from the shadows he had been contemplating slipping into to get out of sight and grumbles about being out in the open and ensures his weapons are free to draw quickly.

How big are these "colossal" prints? You are familiar with animals so how large would you estimate the creature to be?

Nelie looks wide-eyed at the destruction around them. "So... thorough. So deliberate." Whatever this was, it didn't match much at all with what she knew of Leshen. And the giant tracks, knowingly concealed, according to Odin.

Johan listening"If it leave tracks I can track it. I can follow a trail that has been disguised also. Wiping a trail leaves a trail if you don't know what you are doing. I still think we should scour the long house for the stone though."

I agree it would be helpful but given the thoroughness the enemy has shown in pillaging this place and the fact the enemy was here not to long ago and we may be already surrounded I am a bit reluctant to focus too much on searching. But if others will watch while I search or if any of you have means to help detect the stone then I am all for finding it as quickly as possible.

I had presumed you had all split up a little to do some searching, but always within eyesight or earshot of each other. Right now, in my mindseye, I see that you are nearing the center of the town but not in the center yet. Johann would have been the closest to the center but probably backtracked to sync up with you all.

"Each footprint punches deep into the snow, roughly circular or perhaps irregularly oblong, easily two to three feet in diameter.

In the softer, undisturbed snow, they sink at least a foot to a foot and a half down, compressing the layers beneath.

Where the ground is firmer or the snow shallower near trampled areas, the impressions are still a good six to eight inches deep, with the 'talons' or 'roots' gouging even further into the frozen soil below.

I don't have any reference point in my own personal experience to suggest how big something would need to be to make footprints like these.

It's clear that whatever made these tracks has considerable weight and is pressing down with force."
