Thanks for the heads-up! Safe travels, and I hope you have a smooth trip.=)

Gearspark, when you start rolling for social conflict, if it's not entirely obvious from your RP, tell us, out of character, which objective you want to increase if you succeed on the dice. If you fail, the NPC gets to choose where the tick goes.

You can always create new objectives, if it makes sense. Just let us know.

I'm thinking the initial goal might be to reverse this "pest" view of Hornrock.

Great. Feel free to roll and RP =)

Thanks, it's only 85km from my place but it's in a valley and there are no cell towers. It's a nice enforced break from the online world. 😂

Catch up on Sunday!

I'm a tinkerer, not a thinkerer! The dice aren't loving me so far. But I'll make an attempt to unscrew this situation.

Yes I would like to stay to understand how is Social Conflicts supposed to work. I got the theory, but in practice I saw no reason to "keep swinging my social sword".

The Dice Gods may have their own agenda =) Either way, don't underestimate your roleplaying, as that can grant you Advantage or even increase multiple goals simultaneously, depending on context. =)

Or, if you're in a hurry someday, just gimme a "I try to convince him again" and we will leave the arguments to the character and dice. It's like just writing "I swing my sword" and sending the post. Not very creative, and for sure won't grant you Advantage, but used sporadically that is ok. =)

They do! I personally dislike social mechanics because dice can be random in ways that might not make sense if you actually roleplay out the social stuff. Sure, it lets you abstract out or excell when you might struggle with it, but it can also mean garbage luck fails you even though you make good arguements. But I'm new to the tiny systems, so I'm curious if there's a social system I'll like here.

I've been playing this system for over a year (in real life too), so I think Tiny is simple and flexible enough to work with an experienced DM. I hope I can make it work and that you enjoy it =)

Have you tried any other rules lite systems? I liked Index Card RPG. The effort dice idea is fun, but it is more reliant on loot for progression.

I will say not having to come up with DCs is nice. Have there been any weak points in your year of running?
