The crew of the Horizon Chaser have been hired by Cagron Chusk, Devoronian Crime Lord, to deliver a hold full of mysterious crates to a contact on Dantooine.

The crew of the Horizon Chaser has been hired by Cagron Chusk, a Devoronian crime lord, to bring a load of sealed crates to the remote outpost of Dantooine. The pay is decent, even if the planet is out of the way, and it is contingent upon not breaking the seal on the crates. Nevertheless, the crew can’t help but be curious…what would the syndicate be selling on Dantooine?

Your contact is a woman named Thessa Saris in the settlement of Eronoss; should be easy to find in such a small place. You’re supposed to meet her in three day’s time at the Raging Rancor, which is apparently the only cantina in town.

The trip through hyperspace has been boring and uneventful, and everyone greets the chime of reversion with relief. As the stream of stars slows to myriad points, the lush planet appears before you.

You only have a moment to enjoy the view before your ship is rocked by a small explosion, and proximity sensors begin blaring the obvious…you are under attack!

One of Dantooine's moons looms nearby and just off your port side a huge freighter reverts from hyperspace. You'll have do a quick diagnostic, but whatever that explosion was, it didn't sound good.

Ada punches the throttle and jerks the controls to start evasive maneuvers. She veers down for a second then up, turning toward the moon to try and get some opposing obstacles between their unknown enemies and the Chaser.

"We got hostile activity. Hold on to your butts while I try to shake them. Somebody figure out where they hit us and fix it if you can! Someone else figure out where they are and shoot back!" There is anger in her voice as she shouts into the comm

Avox rushes to the ladder and slides down to the middle level, and rushes to the engines first to ensure they are operating properly. He fervently observes the ship's internal systems in an attempt to find any damage. Once he does, he grabs the emergency tools and gets to work repairing anything he can.
OOC:
I'm not sure how we are gonna add in any of the other die for the die pool. So if this roll needs to be ignored and redone in a proper pool then so be it. Just let me know so I can learn!

On the bridge, a light begins flashing...you are being hailed. A smooth voice oozes out of the intercom, "This is Captain Sontebren of the dreaded Krayt Dragon. Stand down and deliver your cargo, and neither you nor your ship will be harmed."

"Well I wasn't expecting us to make any new friends so soon" says Doc as he staggers into the cockpit and starts trying to reroute some of the ships systems
OOC:
1st manoeuvre to get to where I need to on the ship
2nd manoeuvre to angle the deflectors (taking 2 strain)
Action to attempt damage control

EDIT: if Avox's mechanics check has reduced the strain enough to drop the difficulty the result would be 3 success and 1 advantage (assuming we'd disregard the second purple die). Will use the advantage to give whoever goes next on our side a boost die

Jack's eyes open wide at the first explosion that sets the Chaser shaking. He swings his legs off of his cot, rubbing at his eyes a moment as he finds his feet. "Ugh.." He groans, rising up and stumbling out of the room as Ada begins evasive maneuvers that causes the artificial gravity to attempt to compensate. He hears their attacker's voice over the broadcast system, and rolls his eyes. "I'm Captain Sontebren," He repeats mockingly, in a gross exaggeration of their attacker's voice. Jack climbed into the dorsal turret seat, strapped himself in, and did a quick scan for the enemy ship.

He mouths the words "Dreaded Krayt Dragon," while making a mockingly pompous face. Jack grips the turret controls tight, catching the opposing ship within his sights and...
OOC:
Maneuver to move where I need to go, maneuver to aim (2 strain spent). Spending a Destiny Point, cause this is going to be hard. Upgraded once due to the ship in the way, and twice for the evasive maneuvers we're taking. Adding a Boost from the last action and from Aiming. I'm also assuming they're about the same silhouette as us :) I hope.

Doc doubles up the rear shields while leaving the front undefended. Smart move, since Ada's wild maneuvering is leaving them in your wake. He re-routes some systems and manages to improve your situation somewhat.

Jack spins the turret to the rear and opens up with a flurry of laser bolts. They spatter the gunboat's shields and one finds its way just between where the front and back shields overlap, causing a cascade of sparks to erupt from the rear of the ship.

A triple blaster cannon on the port front side of the gunboat opens up on you, but the shots splatter harmlessly across your shields.

Rodian curses come down the bulkhead,"Etui mu na charra!" Bo staggers her way into the galley and struggles to plug in her slicer deck into the ship's computer. She accesses the ship's communications and patches through to amplify her network. She types quickly and tries to connect to the pirate ship hoping to hack into their systems to start shutting them down. Swiping her screen she attempts to locate the enemies main weapon to disable it electronically.
OOC:
Threats might do some strain to her slicer deck, would love to use the triumph to disable more functions of the pirate ship if possible.

Awash in a stream of Rodian expletives, Savi makes his way to the sensor access station and goes to work. He is determined to prove to himself and this crew that he can be an asset beyond the negotiation table.

The sensor board comes to life in front of him. The glow of the screen reflected in his determined stare. His fingers fly across the keys as he attempts to dissect the pirate ship's strategy and tactics.

Despite the situation he chuckles to himself as he hears Jack mock the pirate captain's tone. Yeah, no matter how this turns out, it beats the hell out of dying a slow death behind a desk in the middle of nowhere.

He plugs in to the comm system and prepares to pass on any useful information to the flippant gunner - if this works...

With the success, the next person to fire gets to add an advantage die. Not sure how the threats will manifest themselves...
"He's going to invert his trajectory! Gunners, flip your tracking - let him walk right into your line of fire!

Satisfied that they've gotten the strain to the ships systems under control Doc starts to work on increasing power to the shields.

Well that could have gone better, will use 1 advantage to drop my strain by a point and the other to give next person in line a boost die
