Part 1: Deliverance

Noticing that Jack and Thessa seem to be concluding negotiations among themselves, Savi decides to let them continue without interference. He'd been a part of enough talks to know that too many cooks can spoil even the easiest of recipes. He falls into step behind them and listens intently to the course of the conversation.

Avox will follow only if they intend to leave the room, "Thank the stars this job is over." He allows himself to think. "One step closer Ju."

"Good work senator."
He says putting a hand on Savi's shoulder as he walks past, heading to a seat in a corner where he can watch the room.

The droid squeals in fright and attempts to run away, toward the wall surrounding your berth.
OOC:
You can try to grab it if you want, 1 purple.
Dec 15, 2016 1:40 am
Thessa laughs, a rich musical sound, "Wre doesn't approve. She thinks running the cantina should be my only focus. But I do like to help my friends...it's hard to get started in a place like this. Everyone could use some friends. I don't think they're crazy...possibly hopelessly optimistic, but not crazy."
Dec 15, 2016 6:49 am
As the droid tries to scurry past him Doc reaches out and tries to grab it.
OOC:
Just a straight up Brawn check for me I think as I've no other skills that would seem to apply

Brawn check

2 Success, 1 Threat

Total: 2 Success, 1 Threat

Jack grins at her reaction, shrugging his shoulders, "Hopefully your friends show some thanks for your effort, at least."

He then laughs and adds, "Sometimes optimistic and crazy aren't too different, though."

Doc manages to grab the droid, who shrieks in terror. The obvious distress takes him aback, but he manages to keep his grip.
OOC:
Take one strain

A most astute observation. And yes, I am well rewarded for my time and effort. And you? Do you enjoy working for the likes of Chusk? Your oh-so-correct friend doesn't seem the type." She smiles over her shoulder at Savi, to see his reaction.

She gently leads Jack down the street and toward the spaceport, following a much simpler route than the young Rodian did.
Dec 16, 2016 5:41 am
"Only out of necessity, for the most part, which is what I think Chusk would say right back at us. He's not exactly my type of employer." Jack turns to look at Savi when Thessa does, but adds to it, "You'd be surprised by him. For all his politeness, he's sharper than the rest of us when it comes to dealing with dangerous folk." He looks ahead again, trying to get an idea of where they were so that no one would have to bribe a rodian kid to get back to the cantina if need be.

Jack is bit more absorbed in though now, hoping that Chusk wasn't duping Thessa and her friends. Whatever is in those crates, it better be what Thessa's expecting.

Doc holds the droid up and takes a good look at it "Hey, what are you doing to our cargo?" he says whilst shaking it a little
OOC:
Gonna make a mechanics check to see if I can work out what the droids deal is (i.e. what it's primary function seems to be) and to check if it's armed

Rolls

Mechanics check

1 Success, 1 Advantage, 1 Threat

Total: 1 Success

Savi was about to thank Avox and offer up a snide comment about how he hadn't done anything worthy of praise when Thessa's comment caused him to cock an eyebrow in genuine surprise. He had thought she was more astute. He was happy to reveal mild shock as he was certain she would misinterpret it. Politeness and manners do not necessarily mean that one is without guile or the ability for subterfuge, honey. If this backwater cook had half the experience I had, she'd know full well it is more often an indication of danger than safety when your conversation takes on overly polite and "proper" tones." Despite the jabs he endures, Savi knew he had an extremely wide experience of criminals, perhaps even wider than some here present. In his experience, the most dangerous, by far, were the ones who appeared to be other than what they were. Senators often seemed bumbling or confused while secretly plotting and manipulating. Crime lords would often be polite and understanding to your face while they were arranging your murder behind your back.

He fought the urge to shake his head and chuckle. No, it was a serious miscalculation on her part to assume he didn't know exactly what he was doing. Maybe I can use that to our advantage if Jack runs into trouble. For now, he seems to have it, and her, under control.

Jack's comments interrupt Savi's internal monologue, and it took all his political training to not stop fully in his tracks and gape. Somehow, he managed to maintain his inscrutable expression. This barve never ceases to surprise me. If he had been raised under different circumstances and with different opportunities, he'd probably be running the Senate right now.

Savi allowed himself a quick smile as the two turned away from him to continue their conversation. Im sure I'm not the only one who's met this guy who simultaneously respects his abilities and also wants to shoot him in the foot.

The droid squeals in fright again and begins babbling in binary. She is clearly a mechanic droid and has no weapons of any sort.
Dec 16, 2016 6:26 pm
"Calm down and talk slower" Doc growls at the droid "I can't make out a word of what your saying like that"
OOC:
With a rank in mechanics I'm making an assumption that Doc has at least a passing understanding of Binary, can change that if you think it's a bit too much of a stretch
Dec 17, 2016 4:10 am
OOC:
Speaking Binary is a Talent...I don't think you have that one
The droid calms slightly and whistles a questioning tone.
Dec 17, 2016 9:48 am
OOC:
Huh, just thought that gave you a boost to doing stuff with droids but languages were different....ah well
Doc looks at the droid for a second "Right....didn't really help there" keeping hold of the droid he flicks on his comm link "Hey...erm...any of you guys there? I kind of need a translator?"
Dec 19, 2016 10:23 am
Thessa quirks an eyebrow down at Jack's communicator. "Are you going to answer that?"
Dec 19, 2016 10:33 am
Jack, so lost in his thoughts, barely realized he was being spoken to. He gives a calm grin to Thessa and says, "Course. Just making him sweat a little." He holds a hand to his comlink, and keys in.

"Hey Doc. Tell me it's Ryl you need and I've got you covered. What's going on?"
OOC:
Don't know how I missed that post! Sorry guys

"Binary actually, caught a droid snooping round the cargo but I can't understand a damn word that its whistling about
Dec 19, 2016 10:42 am
Jack can't help but glance at Thessa when he mentions the droid was poking around her cargo. He replies, "We're almost back to the ship. Hold onto it for just a minute."
Dec 19, 2016 3:56 pm
Overhearing the conversation, Thessa looks tense and quickens her pace.
