You push against the door but it doesn't budge.
OOC:
Hang on, you don't have darkvision anymore, are you bringing that back online?
Feb 17, 2017 8:17 am
Harmia looks the door over for any obvious signs of entry, or perhaps anything obscured on its surface.
OOC:
Oh, thanks! Is the bonfire giving me enough light for now?

OOC:
Nope!
You try to examine the door in detail but it is too dark. You can feel there are some groves carved into it but without a complete understanding of the pattern you can't make heads or tales of it.
Feb 17, 2017 10:43 am
Harmia enchants her eyes to see in the dark and then reexamined the door.
Feb 18, 2017 4:06 am
With her eyes fully adjusted to the dark Harmia sees that the has 5 hemisphere inlets arranged in a cross shape, each connected to all but the opposing inlet via an channel. If she touches the central inlet it lights up for a fleeting moment with a strange black flame with white tips, similar to how the humanities appear. If she touches one of the other inlets it will light up with a feeble white whisps of light which quickly fades.
Feb 18, 2017 11:53 am
Harmia takes a mental note of this, pondering it briefly, and then exits the tomb to see what other paths might be out there for her.
OOC:
I could be very wrong, but I'm assuming the white ones are for souls, of which I have none at this moment.
Feb 20, 2017 4:26 am
The word path is ill used to define any of your potential directions of travel. The forest grows quite thick very quickly if you move away from the solitary path that connects the tomb to that collapsed tower you just came from. Past the depths of the forest (though you need not go through the forest's center to get there) is the squat square building you saw from the wall, your new vantage point reveals that a collection of small houses surround that building, all of them have the air of decay to them, as if the forest has reclaimed them all.
Feb 20, 2017 7:47 pm
Harmia gathers up the scraps of courage that remain from her trials thus far, and proceeds toward the squat building.
Feb 22, 2017 10:57 am
OOC:
I'm going to run this section of your travels a little bit differently then the combat slog you've been facing so far...

So I would like you to describe how you are traveling the forest, and from your description make me some kind of skill check. Some details that you might find useful; the forest is dense and there are no paths, the forest seems aggressive and has malicious intent, some plants may attack you as you move. This is only the first part of your journey, so only describe how you set off.
Feb 24, 2017 12:20 pm
Harmia, worried about facing some creature like the plant-beast that surely would have killed her were it not for Tosti's aid, elects to use the stealthy option. She makes a few gestures, mumbles a prayer, and stalks off into the woods. Her feet fall lightly, her breath is but a whisper, and she leaves hardly a trace behind her as she breaks off from the already overgrown paths she'd been walking on until this point.
OOC:
So, I hadn't considered spellcasting material components. Dunno how you want to handlle that, since I don't really use a holy symbol or anything. Maybe I have to buy spell components. Dunno! If I can use spells without material components, I'll cast Pass Without Trace. If I cannot, then I will merely regret my spell choices and stealth on anyway :)

Rolls

Stealth (This roll has a +10 if I can cast Pass Without Trace) - (1d20+7)

(20) + 7 = 27

OOC:
For now I'm going to say your using that amulate as a focus, as I think that might work...
As Harmia sneaks through the wood she avoid the majority of the forests wrath.
OOC:
You come across some natural obstacle. Describe it and how you attempt to overcome it; with a relevant skill roll.
Mar 4, 2017 3:36 am
OOC:
Sounds great! Unfortunately, it'd be cheesy to make this some other kind of stealth roll so that I could still benefit from my +10 :)
Eventually Harmia comes across a large, fallen tree. It is something unnatural compared to the rest of the vegetation here, as the trunk itself must be twenty feet wide. It is currently toppled on its side and overgrown with vines and other foliage, which Harmia uses to try and climb her way to the top.

Rolls

Athletics - (1d20+2)

(3) + 2 = 5

Mar 5, 2017 6:22 am
As you climb the tree it suddenly cracks beneath you and you walk into the great tree. Inside the tree is covered with a dark blue ichor, the corruption that killed this tree in the first place. An overwhelming sense of fear and despair fills you. You'll need to act fast to escape, but you are to lethargic to do so by force.
OOC:
Describe how you exit the tree, and make a relevant skill roll that isn't athletics. Wether you succeed or not you do still manage to get out...
Mar 22, 2017 3:02 am
Harmia runs up the side of the tree, kicking off of it to climb back out of the hole she fell through.

Rolls

Acrobatics - (1d20+7)

(8) + 7 = 15

Apr 6, 2017 10:47 am
With acrobatic grace Harmia springs out from the the decayed trunk. The scene beyond is a depressing landscape of corruption, pools of the dark blue taint have coalesced in the open and the trees visibly show sign of sickness.
OOC:
Give a description of you pushing forward or taking in the scene, include a roll.
Apr 6, 2017 4:04 pm
Breathing deeply from the exertion, Harmia places her hands upon her hips, staring out into what lies beyond.

Rolls

Perception - (1d20+6)

(12) + 6 = 18

In the distance the square rectangular building you saw some time ago is revealed in detail for the first time. A low castle, surrounded by a decaying village. You also spy horrid monstrosities mindlessly walking about the decaying woods. Grotesque humanoids with large toloned feet, extended and clawed fingers and where their heads should be a hard leathery carapace covered with numerous glowing red eyes.
OOC:
You have seen all there is to see, do you press on with this knowledge or is there further planning to be made. Either way include a relevant skill check in your next post.
Apr 29, 2017 11:52 pm
Harmia, feeling that caution should be observed here, prays silently a moment before stalking forward toward the castle.
OOC:
Casting Pass Without Trace. I'd like to keep a special eye out for any bonfires.

Rolls

Stealth (Pass Without Trace) - (1d20+17)

(12) + 17 = 29

May 3, 2017 10:26 pm
You move the the Forrest approaching the town without attracting the attention of the creatures that wander the area. But the woods seem to muddle your sense making it hard to navigate.
OOC:
How do you overcome the apparently supernatural confusion the forest induces in this part.
May 19, 2017 11:27 am
OOC:
I have been pondering this and, while I'm usually a creative individual, I have come up with nothing. Harmia is probably just confused and lost. Other than just attempting to force through it, which I guess could be a save?
