Alright ! ^_^
Nov 22, 2016 5:04 pm
Alrighty, the only thing missing at this point is WPW's d20 throw. Seeing as it doesn't change the immediate activities at the start of the game, I'm going to go ahead and get the Gameplay thread rolling. I'll catch up WPW when the roll comes through.

THIS THREAD WILL BE LOCKED AT 1700 ET TODAY

Thanks WPW. Gameplay post is up. Now that generation is done, I'll go ahead and shut this thread down.

Go ahead and roll 2d6+6 for stats. You can take the best of the two arrays.
Mar 2, 2017 4:24 am
Okey dokey!

Stat Rerolls - (2d6+6, 2d6+6, 2d6+6, 2d6+6, 2d6+6, 2d6+6)

Those really aren't much better. 15, 13, 13, 12, 10, 9. Honestly, that's basically the standard array with unfortunate point swap-arounds... Yargh. Looks like I'll be going standard array.
Any thoughts on Eldritch Knight vs. Druid, folks?
Mar 2, 2017 9:31 pm
Hmmm we had a Druid they seemed to do pretty well when they shape shifted.
Another fighter should help take the heat off Cemos so much too.

Hmmm what do you all think ?
Mar 2, 2017 9:33 pm
On a curiosity note I would kind of like to see what an Eldritch Knight is like.
Mar 2, 2017 9:43 pm
Either sounds good to me. Welcome aboard Coach! I look forward to gaming with you!
Mar 2, 2017 10:07 pm
I'll look at my options for both and see what I come up with!
Mar 2, 2017 10:18 pm
I think I'm going to go with the Druid! Circle of the Moon for additional wild shapes, etc.
Mar 2, 2017 10:18 pm
Awesome. :)

Are Elemental Evil spells OK?
Mar 3, 2017 2:07 am
Absolutley. Anything that's been released (either official publishing or UA) by WotC is fair game for spells and such.
Mar 3, 2017 2:24 am
Fabulous! There are some quite fun EE spells, so I'll just go ahead and put those in stone as my starting spells.
Mar 3, 2017 2:26 am
Good deal. Once this current fight with this nasty are over, we'll work you into the story shortly.

To those just joining us, here's your chargen guidelines:

Stats: 2d6+6, can reroll the entire array once if your mods add up to 3 or less, assigned any way you wish. OR you can take the standard array or point buy is always available. You can choose to use standard or point buy after rolling if you'd like.

Races/Classes/ETC: Pretty much anything WotC published. With some of the newer UA stuff, it will be approval only (Centaurs aren't quite a fit just yet I don't feel :P) No homebrew without a compelling reason. Xanathar's, Mordenkainen's, Volo's, Tortles. All are good to go.

Equipment and Cash:
Starting Equipment by Class/Background
500+(1d10*25) gp
2 Uncommon Magical Items, 2 Common Magical Items

Hit points:
Max at level 1
Subsequent Levels: roll for HP, then take the roll or average by class, whichever is higher.

General Story:
The party has so far been taken hostage in Velkynvelve by the drow. They mounted a rousing escape into the Underdark where they had some first bouts with madness and some of the dangers in the dark. Upon their escape, they made for the Darklake and Sloobludop where they witnessed fellow escapees perish in madness set upon them by the demon lord Demogorgon coming into the material plane.

In the frenzy that followed, they stole boats from the Kuo-toa and set off across the Darklake, making their way to Neverlight Grove. While in that myconid "stronghold", they witnessed rebellion and discord being sown by servants of Zuggtmoy. Taking advantage of the good will they earned there, they made their continued escape, just ahead of drow pursuers. They trekked across more of the Underdark's treacherous lands until they at long last arrived at Blingdenstone - home of the Svirfneblin.

Their numbers had dwindled substantially and one of their escapees was plagued with a madness driving her nearly out of her mind. It was here that the original party's remnants met a new friend: Heartboiler. With a sentient sword passed down through her family, her rage has given them a strong front line combatant, which has served well in Blingdenstone where they have been working to help eliminate ghosts, medusas, and a host of virulent oozes! This is where the group finds themselves now, so as part of your story, you should have a reason to be in Blingdenstone (which has known connections to the surface world and provides interesting materials and crafted items to surfacers on occasion).
