OOC:
WPW, it's up to you. We're paused at the moment with Dustin at the door, sneaking a bolt shot through. You and Fang are both able to be in the amassed group on the bridge if you'd like. It's why I've not pushed combat on beyond that point yet. With Dustin currently are Eldreth, Sarith, Cemos, Derendil, and Jimjar. The rest (Stool, Shuushar, Topsy/Turvy, and Buppido) remained in the guard tower.

I'll go with Dustin & Cemos.

OOC:
Unless you wanted to follow along. I don't think anyone would have refused your company.

OOC:
I'm also following, but between the two groups to keep an eye on both.

OOC:
Excellent! Places are determined!
Dustin, you hear a shriek from inside the temple as your bolt lands squarely in the middle of the eyes. As you move out of the way and duck into the shadows that are there, a globule of webbing comes streaking out of the door, sailing over the heads of the rest of the party. You hear a chittering inside the temple, the sound of clicking on the stone floor.

Can Act:
Dustin, Bildaweer, Cemos, Fang (Must first move to be in range of the other group, currently ~25 feet from the temple door.

Inspiration:
Dustin 1 | Bildaweer 1 | Cemos 1 | Fang 1

Dustin reloads his crossbow and when he gets a chance will snap off another shot. He waits knowing Cemos will probably engage it in melee.
OOC:
Can I hold my action so that if someone does get within 5' of the spider I can get my sneak attack in ?
Bonus action would be to move like disengage and enter the room.

Rolls

Hand Crossbow - (1d20+9)

(18) + 9 = 27

Hand Crossbow damage - (1d6+5)

Sneak Attack Damage (only if applicable) - (1d6)

(2) = 2

Since you stepped out of the way of the door and hid, immediately, coupled with the fact that you shot it in the face, I'm saying you're still "hidden" to the spider. You'd get sneak for the xbow shot. Once Bildaweer and Cemos post up, we'll resolve. The NPCs with you aren't charging in with a giant spider there just yet. Too dangerous for their trust. ;)

Casting Ray of Frost

Rolls

Ray of Frost - (1d20+5)

(12) + 5 = 17

Damage - Ray of Frost - (1d8)

(4) = 4

I move so I can target the spider with Thorn Whip (30 foot range). And then I hit it with... Thorn Whip. If successful I drag it towards us and out the doorway.

Rolls

Melee spell attack - (1d20+5)

(12) + 5 = 17

Thorn Whip damage - (1d6)

(6) = 6

As Fang dashes up to the room, slinging his whip into the dimly lit temple, aiming at the shriek. The thorny vines wrap around one of the legs, grabbing the spider tightly. With a massive yank, Fang pulls back on the beast, causing it to slide across the room, coming nearly to the door. At that moment, almost as if rehearsed, Bildaweer and Dustin both trigger their attacks: crystalline beam and crossbow bolt intersect, slamming into the spiders chittering pincer mouth. With a twitch, the beast falls, legs still shuddering as it dies as it lived: alone in the temple.

Combat Over.

Cemos pops his head around the corner.....and stay down you foul beast. plunging his sword into the beasts chest shortly thereafter.

Dunstin gives the others a big smile his white teeth a contrast to the black face disguise he has.

Magic, gotta love it when it's on your side.

Dustin steps around the spider and looks around the room. Loading another bolt just in case. He especially looks for dwarven hammers.

OOC:
that last part is worship, and is this where the desecrated ground was? And also that was supposed to be plus 5 so that a 20, if it makes a difference.

No just would have been comical, sorry about that.

Yes, Cemos, even without activating your divine sense, you feel the plague of evil pulsing in this place. It doesn't seem to be used for anything other than worship (and upon further examination) the sleeping area of someone. On the altar are two very heavy silver candlesticks. Atop them are thick black candles that aren't currently lit. In the middle of the altar is a sculpture of a spider, with twinkling eyes. At the back of the room, you see a ladder heading down.

No one sees any hammers.
