The Last Ambush

Ishala stays where she is, tapping her foot and looking disapproving, but also looking subtly toward the back of their target building.
Feb 10, 2017 12:36 am
The Twi'lek mumbles something under his breath in his native tongue and relaxes his stance. "It's not a problem." he says, reaching into his pocket. He pulls out pack of smokes and offers one to Bast.

"We've been a bit jumpy recently with those 'resource teams' roaming around town. Had one of our guys go missing not long after our boss had a visit from one of them about a week back."

The back of GHG Heavy Industries appears pretty much as one might expect from that type of facility. There is a single loading dock and several men our loading a small transport. There appear to be just as many cameras in the back of the facility as there were up front.
Feb 10, 2017 12:40 am
At this Ishala walks closer and asks, "You think they grabbed him? I've heard they can get a little rough."
Feb 10, 2017 12:44 am
Bast fits the cigarette between his lips but doesn't ask for a light. He'll stall as long as he can to see what information they can get out of these worker.
Feb 10, 2017 1:18 am
"We can't be sure, of course, but the circumstances seem to be very similar to some of the other stories we've been hearing" the man answers.

"Durho liked to talk and wasn't shy about sharing how he felt about the Imperial presence in Falu. Couple of those thugs showed up to talk to Mr. Ruhak and Durho doesn't show up for work the next day. Hasn't been heard from since."
Feb 10, 2017 10:44 am
"You think Mr. Ruhak is okay with this?" Bast asks, genuinely concerned.
Feb 11, 2017 5:27 pm
"I wouldn't think so" one of the Twi'lek's workmates pipes up. "Mr. Ruhak treats us all pretty well and never showed any animosity towards Durho."

"A good man, Mr. Ruhak. Level headed." another worker joins in. "The only person I've ever seen him get worked up over is that bastard Grewhit. Those two just don't get along!"

Several of the other workers nod in agreement.
Feb 12, 2017 1:59 am
"What's Grewhit's problem?" Bast asks with a smirk, gesturing for a light.
Feb 12, 2017 2:37 am
Obviously getting a little nervous with all of the talk concerning Grewhit the Twi'lek moves in close to give Bast a light. He takes a step back and crosses his arms in front of his chest.

Looking the inquisitive strangers up and down he asks, "What are you two really doing here?"
Feb 12, 2017 3:13 am
Bast takes a puff of the smoke to get it lit, exhaling it out of the corner of his mouth. He shrugs his shoulders in reply, looking indifferent, "Looks to me like I'm getting a cigarette and we're talking about your boss." He glances at Ishala, trying to hide his uncertainty.
OOC:
Technically, Bast isn't lying. Buuuut... I'll roll anyway, cause I probably need to.

"Thank you, friend. I appreciate your candor. I can't say there's much that I can do, as I am just a humble civil servant, but I will be sure to keep my eyes and ears open for any troubles. For now, keep your head low. I fear whatever trouble this morning's skirmish will bring. Perhaps we will speak again soon. Good day to you."

OOC:
Bast and I are the worst spies ever.

Doesn't matter if we're bad at our jobs. All that matters is that we look good doing it.
Feb 14, 2017 12:52 am
OOC:
Oh we look good, never fear. The problem is that these aren't are jobs. We're both much better at shooting people than talking to them.

"If you say so."

The expression on the Twi'lek's face is more than enough to tell you that he's not buying your story but it doesn't appear he's going to push things any further. Noticing that the other employees have started to return to the building he gives you each a friendly nod and with a wry smile says, "I'm guessing I'll be seeing the two of you at some point in the future."

With that he turns and walks back into the building.
Whaymel smiles and waves as the two of you depart. You can her Lanya from inside the house yell "Bye, Mr 9K!!"
OOC:
So, where is everyone heading next?
Feb 15, 2017 12:53 am
OOC:
Were those employees of the place we're looking at, or one of the adjoining businesses?
Feb 15, 2017 12:56 am
OOC:
All of the employees are from Ruhak's Active Wear. You had seen a couple of workers behind GHG loading a transport but they're gone now (and the transport is still there).

Bast waits a minute as he's walking away before he tosses the freshly-lit cigarette and snuffs it out with his boot. He looks over at Ishala and says quietly, "Maybe we should talk with Mr. Ruhak."
Feb 16, 2017 12:16 am
Ishala asks, "What, now?"
Feb 16, 2017 12:38 am
Bast shrugs, "No, probably not right now." He scratches at his chin and adds, "Maybe when Xin gets back." He lowers his voice and asks, "Should we get a closer look at the back of that building?"
